win just like the previous time you beat this rehash

stealth kill the first 2 phases

You can cheese her first 2 healthbars by attacking her from above. Beat her 1st try

you can get stealth kills by jumping in the trees before the fight starts and after every deathblow

>robbing yourself of a great fight like that
I might have been tempted if I knew of the cheese, glad I didn't.

If you run to right, climb on the branch é jump above him, you win an free death blow in the beginning. You can do that when hes returning from the ghost form in the second phase also

Firecrackers stunlock it

>first phase just parry and attack normally, it shouldn't be a problem given you have beat other bosses that require good timing
>second phase, you can just block her "clone" slashes, she hits you 3 or 4 times and than reappears at the center of the bridge, just repeat what you did in phase 1 when this happens
>phase 3 use a Ako candy to make your attacks increase in damage and use the Firecrackers to stun her, 1 firecracker lets you lend 3-4 hits

Attached: waifu 3d.png (774x538, 916K)

Oh, that's handy. Thanks.

>People thought Monk/True Monk were hard

Attached: 7ec99efa158c4bdba2c74d43ee12dd0a.png (1169x1141, 1.01M)

>People think Owl is hard

After beating him I kek heartedly at those shitters. He was so easy I was expecting a second stage to the fight.

Don't hesitate.

Parry her shit and be aggressive
B E agressive.

>Great fight
It’s nothing special. I did it legit first playthrough. Now I death low first two health bars.

I love the way people say "Just be aggressive lol" when the most effective technique is to run around and wait for attack openings. In my experience being aggressive in Sekiro gets you killed real fucking fast. Not to mention damaging posture is literally pointless unless you get them down to sub half health (Bosses)

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

>people think any Sekiro boss is hard
The only one worth a challenge is Isshin and even that only took me a couple of tries.

I think they’re talking about owl at hirata estate

Same but I haven't fought owl 2 yet

parry and hit her vitality

>they cheese Corrupted Monk
What's your excuse for skipping 66% of the best boss?

Attached: cmonk.webm (640x360, 2.86M)

Dont run from the shadows, just parry the very simple three hit combo.

based

Just focus on parrying her in the first phase and second phase. She practically doesn't regen posture at all for them so you don't really need to whittle down her health. Third phase is just a matter of learning her moveset and dealing vitality and posture damage when you can like most other bosses.

The stealth skill for her first phase seems unintended since there's no real reason behind it. The stealth kill for her second phase makes sense since you're encouraged to get out of the illusion fog by grappling and then you'll notice that she's visible and vulnerable at the center of the bridge when you're not in the fog.

Is that as easy as it looks?

>best boss
>literal reskin of a previous boss
Cringe

The first phase should be pretty straight forward, parry everything, and mikiri.
Once he goes into phase 2 you just jump on the tree and wait for his illusions to disapear.
For phase 3 I'd use a divine confetti

Nah, I've seen plenty of people talk about Ashima Castle Owl saying he's hard as balls. He definitely isn't though.

Yes

Learn her attack patterns, be better at deflections and don't overexert or yourself or rush the fight. Just like every other boss in SEKIRO.

This works, but is super lame.

Pretty much. If you stay calm and realize she doesn't recover her posture at all, you can just focus on deflecting for her first two phases which is easy since she telegraphs a lot.

About to finish NG+ going into NG+2. If I keep my demon bell can I stack it with another to make it more difficult?

That's not being effective, that's being safe.

Was that movie any good?

Has a very predictable moveset, except for her 3rd form.

Attached: DfnNdVPV4AAjF5W.jpg (1200x900, 288K)

We're super impressed with your skill.

My NG+ run was my no charm with bell run. I wasn't really paying attention but come to think of it the bell seemed to have disappeared when I moved to my next playthrough. Regardless, there's no way to stack them.

The only fights I cheesed were the Fire Drunkard in Ashina Outskirts and the Ogre in the castle basement because those niggas were too big to fit through doors lmao. The former was because drunkards are the hardest encounters in the game for me (I have trouble with wide, delayed attacks) and the Ogre because the arena was so small and ogres are a pain in the ass.

I sort of regret cheesing them.

Unironically yes

deflect her chains
stomp on her head after the sweeps
mikiri counter the stabs
fuck up that posture

found the salty shitter

I can't beat the drunk guy and the chained ogre took more tries than any bloodborne bosses, help

aww cute, you're using sugars

Here, allow me to ruin this game for every single one of you:

What? Of course it's effective, you spastic. Being aggressive is outright reckless for most bosses in Sekiro since they do WAY more damage to you than you could ever hope to do to them in a much shorter period of time. Example:
>Have 5 neckless vitality
>Fighting O'rin of the Water
>When I hit her it was trivial chip damage
>She could 4 hit combo my entire health bar in 2 seconds

Yeah, just be aggressive though. Get fucked.

Hardest enemy in the game so far has been the stupid spinny crows
FUCKING WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING I CANT DEFLECT THIS SHIT

Is it good form to bash people in a thread asking for advice? Seems kind of niggerish

You hit them so they don't recover posture you stupid shit, whether or not you deal damage is irrelevant

by that point in the game you're so much stronger with all the memories that you quickly destroy her meter.
plus I don't remember her being all that strong and you have plenty of healing.

You should be able to deflect by now. Deflect most her attacks, jump the sweep and facekick her. When she spawns the 3 fuckers, they always spawn in the same tempo so either parry them (it's a fairly easy rhythm), or just grapple the branches like a monkey with ADD.
In the final stage, learn the tell for the terror move. If you dodge it succesfully (which is fairly easy), you can punish hard.

Retarded elitists are retarded.

It's not effective at all. It drags out fights forever. Being agressive and in their face means the fight is over in no time. Yea it's harder, but you can't say it's more effective by 'waiting it out'. Just deflect all their attacks and keep the pressure on.

Monk is basically a parry fight. He's got higher health and blocks a lot, but if you stay aggressive none of his attacks are particularly bad to parry.

Phase 2 you can hide in the trees to avoid the shadows. Phase three be a bit more defensive and jump to the side for the perilous because a head on vomit can insta-gib you because of terror.

That's about it mate. Just calm down and get those parries.

Owl at hirata u dont fight

There's not even that many people shitting on people looking for advice. You always have a few retards. People generally shit on people who are proud of being bad at the game like;

>Beat her 1st try
Can you imagine reading guides on your first playthrough? Pathetic.

>Hear stories of Isshin being hard
>Did not know you have to fight Genichiro each time first
I don't mind that much but having to skip the cutscenes each time is horrendous.

>17 billion prayer beads
>sugars

The first two bars should be a cakewalk because you already know the deflect timings from monk 1. Last bar just use good judgement and pocketsand until dead.

>YOU DON'T NEED TO DEAL DAMAGE user GIT GUD
>Enemy posture only recovers slow when they're down to less than half health

You're either talking pure shit or you haven't played the game. If you're trying to break a bosses posture without first taking off a big chunk of their health you're a fucking idiot. I learn't this about 3 hours into the game when I was fighting Lady B.

if you start a certain ending path, you do

Should I beat Tower Genichiro first or Corrupted monk?

Yeah, that's pretty wrong. Aggression is the way to go on almost every boss fight because you're way more likely to fuck up a boss attempt that takes 10 minutes than one that takes 1 minute. Being aggressive and getting your parries/mikiri counters in lets you break posture at over 80% health for most bosses.

I'd also prefer not having cutscenes but it didn't bother me at all. Is there a significant load time for consoles or something? Just spam the skip button.

I love parrying monk

he doesn't know

You're talking like one of those shitty tutorial messages.

Sorry to break it to you but yeah that's how people do it. You don't need to deal any health damage to these types of bosses.

This
>Butterfly was sooo easy, Genichiro was the real filler
>meanwhile, they just cheesed Butterfly by looking at a guide and couldn't cheese Genichiro
If you beat Butterfly legit without guides and by becoming gud at the mechanics, Genichiro will be one of the easiest bosses.

Yes. Be aggressive because it's a game about posture, not vitality. Running around like a pussy means you're allowing the AI to do whatever it wants while being up in their face lowers the amount of attacks they might use. Isshin's first phase is piss easy because trading with him makes him extremely predictable. If you run around waiting for an opening, he has a lot more opportunities to fuck you over. Stop being scared.

Are you dumb?
Where did he cut down half her health to get her posture broken? Wanna bet your fight took longer?

no, it's just lazy design to have to skip them every time.

>He thinks a rendered model means the bosses play the same
criiiiiiiinge

For some fights sure but the deflect timings are so easy for her and she has shit posture recovery until the third bar.

I beat Butterfly legit and without guides, genichiro is merely tedious so far. Got him to the 2nd phase on my 3rd attempt rushing. Will probably beat him today in acouple tries. I dont really understand the lightning shit.

Holy shit, way to expose the fuck out of yourself you absolute retard!

Attached: 20190411_011656.jpg (430x650, 149K)

They literally do, you fucking stone

Because that's literally all there is to it. Sekiro rewards you for being agressive. They added slower posture regen for shitters, so they could whittle the boss down if you're ok with taking 20 minutes or more for each boss fight.

I think you're the dumb one, m8. It must be fucking painful to watch you play.

youtu.be/YIjtl7YopEA?t=47s

How did you beat illusion monk if you can't beat this one? I found this one way easier. Literally just deflect her attacks like any other enemy in this game. There's nothing hard about her

Expose what? That I don't use guides you you fucking skilllet.

True, I completely remember the centipede puke and shadow clones in the first fight as well as the two extra life bars.

I found the fights different because you have the chip illusion monk but real monk you can just bully for a posture kill.

It's not even difficult to do. I havent used a guide for a single ending yet. I've gotten three and you can too if you just explore and read what each character says. Stay exposed.

Yeah the lightning shit is a bit confusing and will get you at first. The most important thing is to stay calm. Wait before you jump, until he's about to actually strike with lightning. Then either block or don't and spam R1. You'll counter the lightning and take no damage, and will stun the enemy. It's pretty broken and makes fights with lightning easy as fuck.
Also, I had a discussion with an user before about whether or not you should block. My theory is that his actual weapon can still hit you on top of the lightning, which staggers you and makes you unable to R1, so I always block mid-air. I'm not entirely sure if it's necessary, but it works for me.

>1 extra move and more of the same enemies mean it isn't the same
I bet you say the snake eyes aren't rehashes because you can't poison the second one.

No one said anything about difficulty you clown. Keep exposing yourself.

You're a fucking retard user, not sure why you think the fight goes faster if you first whittle down their health, as opposed to perfectly deflecting all their attacks and attacking them back every opportunity you have. It's literally, demonstrably false. You're meant to keep attack and deflecting their attacks. You're not meant to whittle down their health first and then start applying pressure. That's just a tool to help you, otherwise the game would be even more unforgiving. But it's still faster to just parry them and keep pressure on. You'll realise when you finally get gud.

Two extra moves, entirely different arena giving you different options, a completely different posture system for the fight allowing you to fight it effectively in a completely different way. Phantom monk effectively serves as a warmup for the actual fight.

>sugars
look closer

Attached: sekiro_2019_03_28_17_44_04_112.jpg (730x178, 52K)

I hate bosses that just become a muscle memory test. I figured out how to beat it way before I actually managed to beat it. Grinding out a good enough attempt when I already know what to do is no fun and there was no satisfaction when I did beat it.

Attached: Sekiro-Shadows-Die-Twice-Demon-of-Hatred.jpg (678x381, 62K)

What's that jumping move he does after that Kanji attack? I'm not that far into the game yet, do you unlock that like the Mikiri counter?

Nah man, two of the endings are practically impossible without guides. I think you're the one who exposed yourself. I play without guides and am thorough as fuck, but nah, there's no way you figure out that shit by yourself.

>implying those shitters even know what those icons are
You're wasting your time, user.

If you're needing to use a guide it must mentally tough for you to do it. The ending is the difference of talking to a single NPC and starting a side quest line. Meaning you missed multiple things out of sheer ignorance and then came to Yea Forums to announce how superior you are mistakenly.

This was my favourite boss. I really dig it's aesthetic and it was the right amount of difficult for me.

apologies m8. the quality of your webm was shite.

Wew, imagine being this dumb

Because the first one has a single healthbar.

Eavesdropping on Kuro isn't really very intuitive considering how few characters you can actually eavesdrop on most people just won't think about it, once you get the route started it's straightforward though.

just enhance

there's about 12 pixels in the webm. it was a reasonable assessment

Actually they added that Ninjutsu technique which allows enemies to fight for you for the shitters. Not gonna lie, that can be super useful. Used it with the two ninja cunts before the Owl fight. You go into the fight 2vs1 against, and you end it 2vs1 with.

You mean the jumping kick you have from the start of the game?

Yeah man, phase 2 and 3, with all the shadow clones and centipede vomit really make Corrupted Shadow monk passed Mibu village a pain.

>get wrecked by Isshin over and over again
>go to bed, and work for a few days
>boot up the game today
>beat him on my first try
Every single time.

Attached: 1519073779981.jpg (527x495, 43K)

There's no unlock for it, you just use it. Jump, then press A again on their head during a sweep. Does decent posture damage.

yeah, had to cramp it to make it 60sec. I wish the webm maker had 30fps setting for better image quality.

Attached: outfuckingplayed.webm (1280x720, 2.15M)

It's clear he was playing on NG+, so obviously at that point he's going to have max health or close to it. And from that fact, you can also easily deduce it's kuro's charm and demon bell "buffs".

It's easier than the ghost version. Third phase, the one you can't cheese, is the only unique part and the only part worth your time at that point.

Kek. fuck me

>great fight
it's almost literally just the first fight but with more health.
she has two new moves with the centipede + shadow clones in the second phase.

So the second and third phase of the same boss are a different boss? Good to know.

Deflect. Her recovery is shit unlike the ghost one.

Hesitation is defeat, also exhaustion.

This
Sometimes i just end up overthinking the fights and need to step away to fix it

Attached: 1550688851110.jpg (591x522, 39K)

What endings? Severance is the basic, Shura is a single menu choice difference from Severance. I'm assuming Return has to do something with the snake hearts since they say something about persimmons in the description and theres only one important NPC that has a boner for persimmons. Then the third one is the basic ending but talking to Emma, that was actually the first one I got. I haven't gotten the return ending so I could be completely wrong about the heart/persimmon connection.

it's only clear to people already doing those things, you gatekeeping pussy.

To add; you can also just do it if they're not doing a sweep to stagger them. Won't do much posture damage though, and doesn't stagger all the time but it's a nice reposition

Monk is so easy to deflect, don't know how you would have problems with her.
Only died to her once on 3rd phase because I thought the barf attack was poison at first.

>You'll realise this when you finally get gud

I already got gud, m8. Just in a different way. I'll go all the way to end, I have no doubt about it.

>people thought sword Saint was hard

LOL

Attached: 1554540253239.jpg (225x225, 13K)

Attached: AshinaElite.webm (852x480, 2.86M)

The second one has 3 health bars but is way easier to kill per bar. You can actually posture break this one instead of being forced to do dumb hit and run tactics for 5 minutes until you slowly chip her health down to zero.

Saving time. Monk is extremely easy, but why waste time fighting her when they put all those neat branches there for you to grapple onto?

I didn't know about it until like the halfway mark either, I'd just autistically jump backwards whenever I thought a sweep was coming.

I thought Corrupted was really fun too, but whatever. I'm far from innocent when it comes to stealth cheesing, the fight just felt really satisfying to me somehow, something about deflecting spear attacks is really enjoyable, loved the final boss as well.

You gotta eavesdrop specific people at specific times for that latter ending. I also got both snake hearts, but there's specific shit you need to do before a certain boss in order to get that ending.
So yeah, you need to use a guide to get either of those endings or be extremely lucky. I literally visited every NPC I could remember to visit each new part of the game I thought could be a 'phase', since I know FromSoft by now. Didn't get the eavesdrops.

You can also do it to dodge some attacks even if you aren't warned by kanji if you know what the hitbox is like. Isshin's charged wide slash can be dodged that way and it feels awesome.

Sure thing man, have fun dying 50 times to the final boss

>more health
What? Did you even play this game? Illusion monk is like the tankiest enemy in the game unless you use snap seeds

Easiest enemy next to the big Voldo.

>teleports

Attached: nothingpersonelpapa.webm (1280x720, 2.7M)

All the more reason to just skip phase one and two since you've done them before. And the shadow clone shit might as well not even exist since you can just grapple around the arena and never get hit.

As soon as I found about eavesdropping on NPCs, which must have been early on in my first playthrough, I went through and tried to do it to everyone. I realize now I must have been lucky so I'll just shut up about it. Disregard my retardation.

Fight would be a lot harder if he still kept his poison throw from the first fight. Fuck that area denial.

Same. Still didn't get it. So yeah it's entirely possible for one or two people to get that ending, but the amount that claims it on this board is just silly. It's safe to assume the majority used a guide.

>50 times

Nigga I haven't attempted a single boss thus far before beating it so much as 10 times. Don't worry your pretty little head, I'll be fine.

Attached: Orinofthewater.webm (1280x720, 2.34M)

Okay sweety. No need to lie on an anonymous image board, we don't know you anyway. Keep doing you I guess.

I didnt realize that people claimed to get it without a guide. I legit got it without a guide but I see looking back that I just came off as elitist.

Yeah this fight is ezpz you don't even need to learn the attack patterns since everything is so slow and telegraphed giving you plenty of time to react.

>Illusion Monk is the tankist enemy in the game

Holy shit what? Absolutely not. It's the easiest boss in that whole area.

Yes. Sekiro being hard is a literal meme.

>one or two

How about you just admit that you're a short attention span shitter. They introduce the eavesdrop mechanic really early and in the safe zones too. You can only blame yourself for not taking all that the game offers. I found the return ending on my own and the purification one too, on my second playthrough.

Kek

is this the only use of a ceramic shard?

I was surprised how much people bitch about her and Monk and can't believe people resort to cheese like that on the former. She was a nothing boss on the same level as the longarms and the *unsheathes katana* dojo guy.

cope harder shitter

t. beat Owl first try
pic related

Attached: just first try Owl 4Head.jpg (1280x720, 90K)

>Illusion monk is like the tankiest enemy in the game
Consider the following

Attached: Sekiro-demon-of-hatred.jpg (640x356, 51K)

Is this fight even difficult enough to need to do this? Shes pretty predictable as far as deflecting goes. I guess it makes sense so you can skip a fairly boring fight.

Stop using guides on your first playthrough shitter. You're not convincing anybody.

>30fps monkeys
thanks consoles

Attached: [LOUD CHIMPANZEE NOISES].webm (1280x720, 2.2M)

Which do you guys think is hardest, Shura ending or Severance/Purification/Homecoming, boss wise, I just started the second playthrough (did purification in the first) and I don't know which one to go for this cycle

Not him but youre retarded. Even Elajjaz got Owl2 on his first blind playthrough. Cope harder.

Ceramic Shard is kind of weird, you have to lock on to guys and throw it AT them, you'd think it would just be some noise-maker.
You're supposed to do it when you peek around a corner, so the enemy walks toward you and you can get a stealth deathblow that way. That's why you usually find ceramic shards near corners.

Elias is actually good at the game

It's okay user. Not everyone has the brain capacity to enjoy discovering things for themselves. It's not bad to use a guide, but it's pathetic to lie about it.

Fuck off and stop acting like a little bitch. You're not as good as those who actually put some proper effort into the game, its simple as that, so stop accusing everyone else of being at your fucking low level.

First boss I started using confetti on because without it he takes for fucking ever.

She's basically Giraffe Centipede 2.0, she'll filter you if you don't understand how deflecting works, if you do, you'll shitstomp her.

Attached: deep combat.webm (960x540, 2.94M)

How are you not taking chip damage?

>Ela is the only person that exists who is actually good at the game

You only end up fighting Emma who is deliberately weak to make you feel bad and Old Man Isshin who isn't in his prime in the Shura ending so it's easily the easiest ending.

But I do? Each slash deals 90% of your HP if you take it in the face, 180% aka death if both hits.

correct assessment

Anyone else here surprised with how good Sekiro is? I had no excitement for this shit before it came out but it’s definitely my game of the year so far.

I didn't. I just swinged around and realized there's a fat red marker on her

He's deflecting the attacks. You only take chip damage if you don't.

You don't take chip damage from any attack if you deflect it, as far as I know

>see flash
>tap parry twice
It's a mystery

No need to get so angry for being outed for using guides user. We're all anonymous, nobody knows who you are and how pathetic you are for lying about it.

Nice butt slap

You're cracking me up user. Are you so buttblasted by the idea of someone finding something without a guide?

Attached: 1555170646997.jpg (1282x1080, 894K)

owl really is fucking hard you absolute fucking subhuman, an hero right now. that stupid motherfucker cost me the most time in the game, every other boss is a goddamn breeze compared to great shinobi owl. I lack the patience to dance with him for all his stupid attacks. his attacks (when they land) are ridiculously punishing, he's also a turbofaggot and just goes berserk so you can't just rush him like you did with genichiro, you just have to wait out his bullshit and be patient. it took me literally over 200 tries to beat him compard to 4 5 tries for every other boss in the game just because it forces patience and literally denies everything you learned in the game about being aggressive and having to just wait out his stupid shit. fuck owl

Attached: 1553969148369.png (400x400, 154K)

>no online, no customization, no different weapons, revives, people are saying it's only 12 hours long
I had absolutely zero faith, but it's definitely good enough that everyone should do at least one run. Made me realize I don't even like Souls that much, parrying is a lot more fun than dodging when your combat is based around doing it consistently.

Demon of Hatred is fucking me up lads, I can't even get past phase 1. Any pro tips?

Whats with the deathblow counter enemy beneath the green lake? That shit scared me reminded me of el lago from re4. When or how do you fight this nigga without spoilers pls

get good

You can be very aggressive if you use shurikens to keep engaging him when he creates distance.

Stay near him user, block his stomps. When he does the flame whip thing, right and left and then down the center, run to side and towards him to take advantage of the moment after he slams the arm down. Jump over the grab attack. Use the Pheonix umbrella to block flames if you're not certain of your ability to dodge. You can also use Malcontent to stun him a few times.

>leaning on a particular wall only during a specific part of the game and waiting a few seconds for the eavesdrop icon to appear means you "put proper effort into the game"
For some reason the Isshin eavesdrop is way more obvious and I found that on my own, wish they would have done the same for the one that actually changes anything.

You get the ability to dive later, you can't miss it, just come back. Also lurking these threads is a great way to spoil everything for yourself so if you care in the slightest get out now.

>I can't even get past phase 1
Then you're really not going to like phase 3. Consider cheesing it with Malcontent. Garbage boss anyway.

Hug his crotch and keep attacking. You can deflect whatever he throws at you pretty easily with some practice.
His perilous charging attack is a sweep, jump.
When he jumps up, run away. You can use the grappling hook to get back to him and get a jumping attack in.
If he is far away, run straight to him. He'll probably try to lob fireballs at you, but as long as you're running straight for him, they'll miss.
For phase 2, he'll follow up his charging sweep with a big-ass slam. Run to the left when you see him doing this, you'll avoid it, and get an opportunity to grapple him.
For phase 3, he'll do a big-ass sweep all around him, be prepared for more jumping. He'll also make a big ring of fire forcing you to stay close to him (which is fine this is what you want)

Use the Malcontent Whistle to get 3 free stuns in on him.
Use Suzaku's Umbrella if you're seriously having trouble dodging fireballs.

This is what it ended up looking like for me when I finally beat her. I didn't have any emblems or anything and didn't know about the cheese. I just got gud and it was easier than I initially thought, because she telegraphs her attacks way ahead of time. Genicihiro and Owl were harder for me.

>To skip phase 1, you have to immediately hook to specific trees before the Monk lands in order to not aggro
>"I didn't read a guide, a-a-user!"

k bud.

The safest spots are as far away from him as possible or right next to his ballsack. If you ever find yourself midrange from him, close the distance immediately or run the hell away because you'll get fire slapped. Strafe counterclockwise when you're right under him and most of his attacks should miss but be ready to deflect in case his stomps still manage to reach you. He likes to throw a fireball volley at you after he creates a lot of distance such as after his perilous charge attack. Be ready to run back to dodge or deflect with the fire umbrella when he does that.
