At what point did you realize you were playing an absolute masterpiece?
At what point did you realize you were playing an absolute masterpiece?
When I discovered bringer knuckle.
Cavaliere boss fight.
As soon as I started playing as Dante
Just because it's a good game doesn't mean it's good fuck off already
Need playable Vergil still
When I went head to head with the freaker hoard
it's not even the best game of the month
This.
V's first mission
I hate playing as fucking V.
Can't get the S rank on DMD mission 5 no matter how much I try and it's just so fucking boring.
absolutely this
I hope bayonetta fags realize how superior dmc is now, dmc5 dante is the most fun character I have ever controlled in a video game. bayonetta 3 has some big shoes to fill
>mfw bringer knuckle during taunts
Put summons on auto (specially Griffon) and use royal fork.
Payline pretty much sealed the deal for me
When I got to the Subway mission desu
based
The combat can be very fun but the level design and story was really underwhelming
Mission 7 is one of my favorite overall Missions in the series because of how interesting the level design is and how good the final encounter is. It's a bar that the rest of the game doesn't reach but it's still great. Dante's gameplay makes up for just-okay level design from Mission 10 onward (although 12 and 15 are pretty good).
The exact moment was probably once I experimented with Dante's full moveset. It's easily his best in the series, and covers up all the small holes that 5 has compared to 3's suite of features. I'll admit my opinion on 5 has slid from "best in the series" to "just barely equal to 3SE" but that's pretty outstanding since it's the vanilla release. A 5SE will easily be the definitive DMC experience if it adds content/tweaking on the level of previous SEs.
You fags love pushing the double standards. DMC 5 had a story on par with DMC 2 and DmC. Gameplay was nice, but people saying this was a return to form are fucking deluded.
when i started flying around with gerber the first time.
WET CHUNKS
>still shilling this shit
everyone who wanted to play it already did. fuck off to /vg/ for your ciclejerk
Cope.
It didn't match expectations but you're just as deluded if you think it was that bad. It had a lot strong character moments and filled in a lot of lore gaps (especially if Before The Nightmare is included). I think the two main issues are that they worked backwards from Nero stopping Dante & Vergil in his new DT when writing the story, and many cutscenes being too low-energy for a DMC game (stuff like the Empusa rodeo in Mission 1 or Dante trying out King Cerberus aren't as common as they should be).
The ending is open-ended as fuck because I think Itsuno meant what he said about this being the end of Dante & Vergil's story, but he also wants it to be open for the future. DMC6, whenever it happens, will likely be directed by Itsuno's protege whose name escapes me (I think Okabe?). I would bet money on him directing 5SE as practice.
>story on with DmC
What parts of DMC5 betray an obvious re-write?
So I've never played any of these games and I downloaded the demo and died on the boss
I know I'm completely shit at it, go ahead and remind me if you feel the need
anyway, would setting the game to auto just to learn what good combos look like help? or should I just keep floundering until it clicks?
Shitty Bosses
Shitty Music
Shitty Story
Shitty V
Shitty Difficulties
It's Shitty OP
>would setting the game to auto just to learn what good combos look like help?
No. It's preferable to play bad than to play on auto, because auto just isn't going to teach you how to actually do the moves. If you want to look at what decent or good gameplay looks like watch an LP or some combo vids.
The demo
Also this. Not the hardest fight by any means, but god damn what a spectacle it is.
No they don't. The fans pick the flaws all the time. There is an entire game (possibly two) in the DMC franchise the fans will suggest you will avoid. Everyone knows story was never a strong point. Everyone is aware that the story is, at best, cheesy but fun. Everyone knows DMC1 is dated as fuck. Everyone knows DmC had serviceable gameplay (after the DE fixed it, and even then, it was jankier than the previous title). I'm so tired of DmC apologists. Everyone knows what was wrong with it. DMC had fans already. Fans that liked real Dante. They liked him for all his cheesiness. A new one was inserted for a reason that only an out of touch business man could concoct, and his personality wasn't enough to impress old fans or gather new ones. As a fan of the series since the first, I would say that DMC5 is a satisfying sequel. Definitely more satisfying than most releases in the current year.
You won't learn anything on auto (not even sure why developers keep putting this in here for action games). Just keep playing until you better learn timings for combos and what not.
You started off with the falsest statement. 5 has the most good bosses in the series.
The only DMC with a half decent story was 3. I had no expectations for 5's. It ultimately doesn't matter and is about the characters more so than what they end up doing or accomplishing.
Nero is so cute in this game Dante x Nero hot XXX Please uncle I want to play cave explorer No Nero, we have work to do Then how about after? Now I'm motivated
It also has this.
>Shitty Bosses
That's just plain wrong. The worst boss in the game is Nidhogg and he's still decently designed, followed by Urizen 1 who is just a little tedious and Qliphoth Root for being so simple (but it's Mission 1). Goliath is a really good first real boss, Artemis is very good, Geryon Knight is solid, Gilgamesh is mostly setpiece but it's well-executed, Urizen 2 is solid outside the occasional lock-on issue, Cavaliere Angelo is fucking great, Malphas is great, King Cerberus is a good evolution of the original, Urizen 3 is great, Griffon & Shadow are solid minibosses, Nightmare is a really unique fight (if annoying to S-Rank), and Vergil is more mechanically interesting than in 3, albeit worse in terms of the circumstances surrounding it.
>Shitty Music
Best in the series. There's more 8/10 or better tracks in 5 than the rest of the series combined.
>Shitty Story
Worse than 3 doesn't mean bad.
>Shitty V
I won't argue since even though I do like what they did it's very easy to get frustrated.
>Shitty Difficulties
The jumps from DH to SoS to DMD are good outside of DMD taking a few Missions for the difficulty to be felt. HaH is bullshit but I think that's the point.
Gilgamesh is a cool boss unlike anything in the series. It's like a fun version of Gigapede. The only problem is it taking up a full Mission rather than playing as Nero getting from the van to the shipyard where it's at beforehand.
sounds like your main problem is that youre getting greedy with the combos.
dont feel like you constantly need to be doing combos on a boss.
Except DMC3 literally has one of the best stories of all time.
>that one newfag that replies seriously to an obvious bait poster
Please post Dante and Nero making out
DMC isn't about combos at your level. Learn how to avoid attacks. Your jump has invincibility frames and all characters have at least one other dodge they can use
If you can do launcher into an air combo then you're overqualified to beat normal. Learn all the harder stuff as it comes
I've been here long enough to realize that half the people I think are baiting are really that fucking stupid.
If nobody ever did, then nothing on 4channel would ever get one of those hot (you)'s.
There's nothing wrong with Gilgamesh. He's the best stage boss in the series.
Getting real sick of this male objectification. Sony! Censor this person's form of stimulus.
>Except DMC3 literally has one of the best stories of all time.
You can gain an exceed bar when you pull exceed right after an attack, that will help you deal more damage with Nero
Thanks for the advice, I'm going to give it another go
The demo.
Also the end of mission 12.
Not an argument.
When I saw Sony censored Trish's ass.
The part where I got so bored with the game I just stopped playing? It was at the part where I was about to pick up Dante or some shit. Even DmC was better than this snorefest.
It got uncensored in the bloody palace patch.
Thought the game was decent for the first half, making strides to give Nero some depth and be more than a "press O to win character".V was pretty shallow, and I wasn't the biggest fan of Nico, but I was still having fun. My "this game is pretty good" moment came at mission 10 when I realize Balrog had a capoeira form.
What was wrong with it?
No one cares. "We can have a lot of zombies onscreen" isn't a selling point.
>Not an argument.
Same goes for your own post.
When I switched to Sekiro.
I feel you bro. I was stuck there too, last mission to S rank. My advice to you is dont get hit. Thats the only way i could get an S. First room is a bitch but spam shadows hedgehog skill and run
Explain what is bad about him. Hes an enemy stepping playground
Unironically during the credit sequence.
I've only played 4 and DmC. I found this one's story to be much more lackluster. Nico is okay, but she's also really annoying. This new mechanic with all the different types of hands for Nero seems stupid to me. Kyrie was a boring dumb slut but I still found the relationship with Nero more interesting. Kat was pretty fantastic in DmC imo. Something about the battle system just felt off and unintuitive to me. I'm too stupid to be able to explain or remember what exactly was offputting for me. V is alright flavor wise, but his gameplay just felt like mash all the buttons all the time and enjoy your SSS.
The only one that had a decent story was 3. And that was decent at best. Recycled tropes
I was fine with this breaking up the gameplay
Mega cuck spotted. Absolute state of dmcunts.
Based.
I have never played dmc on anything but pc and I think that's how it always should be
I havent played DMC before but am kind of an outside fan looking in. I know gameplay gameplay gameplay but I find dmc5's artstyle to be kind of unappealing and not consistent with the rest of the series. Does it look more natural in context?
Nero is the same as he was in 4 but way better if you don't want to use the arms you can just ignore them and use the buster arm you have after you beat the game
And how the fuck were you okay with DMC4 the whole way but not DMC5? There is barely a difference in the combat between the two
>And how the fuck were you okay with DMC4 the whole way but not DMC5? There is barely a difference in the combat between the two
I was thinking this while I was playing and I honestly am not sure. Could you air dodge in 4 but not in 5? I can't remember, because I stopped playing a while ago, but something just felt wrong and it didn't feel as fluid and smooth.
Yes.
The art direction is top notch.
Why did the hype die down so quickly weeks after release?
Go back to KH3 Barry
Sekiro came out.
It didn't, it's just no longer fever pitch since we have the game now.
We have like 10 threads on dmc daily
you have to legit have autism to really sink your teeth into the game
it's still a great game even for casuals but the real game is very complex difficult
Single player game where depth is determined by your own skill. Not really a game where people can pass discoveries on outside of "do this against this enemy".
>Could you air dodge
There is no "air dodge" in any DMC game that belongs to Bayonetta, what you do have is air hike a double jump that helps you avoid damage
And DMC5 Nero has Gerbera to help you "air dodge" while DMC4 Nero had nothing
I beat it twice and thought it was just kind of okay.
It didn't have the kind of environmental identity that DMC3 had, and the music was unexpectedly mediocre.
Dante and V were quite fun to play and V's story was pretty well done, but Nero was dull from a gameplay stance and he had nothing interesting to say or do until the final hour of the game.
I'm glad it came out and washed the stain of DmC away, but it offered nothing memorable to the series.
This.
>Something about the battle system just felt off and unintuitive to me.
Was auto mode on, by any chance?
Imagine being a regular human in the DMC universe and the amount of shit you would need to deal with.
I still reckon the worst way to go is through Urizen's tree bullshit. Having all your blood sucked out of you War of the Worlds style does not sound nice.
following up on this, retried, killed the boss, and got an A overall
thanks for the advice, finding the dodge button really helped too
this. I personally hated V, and didn't get anything out of Nero, but Dante was when I understood why people loved these games.
When I taunted as Nero in one of the earlier stages with an S rank and he started pretending to use a camera while shouting "YEAH WORK IT BABY, COME ON"
I also remember laughing in surprise when I heard Psycho Siren remixed, since that was my favourite song in DMC1.
>knuckle during taunts
interesting...
Good thing it was just one city here.
I hate when things go out of hand so much that the entire world is in danger, Urizen's bullshit happening only in Redgrave feels much more personal for the cast, especially Dante. Also I expected more resistance from the "regular" humans, they sent a few squads at the beginning maybe but they had a full month to send some forces. Shit could be avoided (or drastically slowed down) with a few helicopters firing missiles at the tree.
After Dante got his ass handed and Nero lost his arm there was almost a month of... nothing, just people slowly getting their blood sucked.
You can literally Knuckle at any time that you can't Buster. ANY TIME. During charges of moves (Showdown, Tomboy gun, etc.), during taunts, during dodges, even when Nero is in hitstun.
the fight boils down to hitting the tumor on his back and jumping the spike attack, and he has way too much health for how braindead he is, he hasnt even come close to killing me once even on DMD
DMC5 has the second best boss lineup in the series after 1
Level design is still shit.
Few levels at the start is the London esque levels were so sexy then it just goes to boring fleshy garbage in terms of levels half way through and all looks the same
Redgrave was basically in lockdown, and I think that conventional weapons may have been less than useful, since their only option would be air strikes but the majority of the important roots weren't on the surface.
The prequel novel talks about V spending that entire month after the Prologue helping civilians escape.
The demo. Cutscenes were lacking in comparison to 3 though, timeline is also strange.
Also a friend made me realize yesterday Vergil's character arc is just a Happa not wanting to be Asian, so he shoots up a city.
lots of points when I was playing through (particularly Dante). I'd be fighting and styling to absolute banger and it would make me smile.
>Cutscenes were lacking in comparison to 3
This.
It really didn't.
The cutscenes and story is the best in the series
>YOU TORE OFF YOUR SON'S ARM
>"I don't care about my son!"
five seconds later...
>I have a son?
Gee, what parts indeed.
It's so fucking fun.
Fans will defend this with every headcanon they have
When I used faust to one shot everything on DMD
story has some okay themes about Vergil but the choreography isnt even close, its 95% dialogue
Theres no Jester/Arkham fucking with everyone while missile gets cut in half
This.
>"I don't care about my son"
Didn't he just say "I don't have a son"?
The first bunch of empusas in mission 2
DEVIL
SWORD
DANTE
It was meant to be translated differently. Son? What would I know of that?
You're quoting wrong. Vergil knew he had a son, he knew he fucked some human girl before DMC3. He didn't know Nero was his son until Dante said that during the fight. The exact quote is: "Nero...is my son?"
Mission 12 when you fight Urizen with Sin DT
He's coming.
bad translation. the english writing in tgis game takes a lot of liberties
That doesn't add up still. Vergil tore off someone's arm, he knew this before the events of DMC 5. So why is he so surprised at this "revelation" from Dante to begin with? First he expresses apathy. Then sincere shock. It's dumb as fuck writing.
Cavaliere Angelo
He tore off someone's arm because Yamato was calling to his fucked up zombie brain. He didn't say 'Hey I know ur my son and all but I need this'. He just knew someone had Yamato and went to go retrieve it.
Mission 11, when I finally started to get good with Dante.
I died on that boss too. It just takes time to get good.
When I managed to kill the last enemy with Dante's rose toss taunt.
When I realized they managed to make Nero more fun to play than Dante
>he is your reason for fighting
That stupid line actually weighted a lot
Speaking of Bloody Palace, where can I get it if I pirated DMC5?
the moment I reinstalled DMC3SE.
When the gaunlet devil arm isn't shit for once.
everytime someone links a video on twitter it never plays on my pc for some reason, the same link works on my phone, does anyone know whats wrong?
This. Only other good Gauntlet is Vergil's Beowulf. Balrog is probably my second favorite devil arm to use behind Agni and Rudra.
Ifrit is good in its own way but you're right.
Im impressed how fun Nero is
That moment never came to fruition.
This.
How can you defend this game when V exists? Most pointless character, story wise, and most boring character play. I haven't touched him since I beat the terrible campaign.
>DMC2
Bitch, you need to go replay DMC2 right now.
>Worse than 3 doesn't mean bad.
DMC3 has the best story in the series, and even then its a 7/10 at best.
DMC3's story is a legit 10/10.
When I saw Nero's face
My heart and my groin are throbbing. THROBBING.
the credits on mission 1
Why does an arcade game need a story?Let alone a "good" story.
Forget about story. DMC 5 lack any atmosphere. Just generic city alleys, buildings, sewers, or Qliphoth root setting.
What happened to gothic castles and towers? Fuck Itsubo
>Most pointless character, story wise, and most boring character play. I haven't touched him since I beat the terrible campaign.
Youre bad as him
>bbubut just sit back and read
LOL
This.
It's called a budget. To make up to date standards for graphics with realistic models, animations, cinematics aswell as making a functioning game something has to get cut/downsize in it's place. Reminder all the levels in DMC 1-3 are just pictures of buildings in Spain the devs took on holidays.
In my mind this game is an "objectively good" action game but I have a really hard time getting into it.
I can pick up DMC4, a game which I suck at and could be argued is mediocre, and have fun with it. But dmc5 is just off putting, it's like a chore to get into it, although it's good fun once I get into it.
I think the zoomed out camera in combat, zoomed in camera outside of combat, photorealistic graphics, bland colour pallet and poor audio mixing make it an underwhelming sensory experience compared to the older games. If I was going to critique the game I would start here.
I didn't like revisiting levels at all in this game. I could only stomach playing through those hallways once. Bloody Palace just trims all that story mode filler anyways.
>Most pointless character, story wise
V is literally the reason why the story happens at all.
V was the only logical vehicle for Vergil to have character progression. He'd become absorbed by his quest for power and, in service of that quest, severed his human and demon halves. This results in a calamity he in now way predicted while also allowing his human half to more clearly understand how he has hurt and is hurting other people. When they rejoin, he's humbled by the experience and understands the value in humanity.
V is the best part of this game from a story perspective. But yeah, he's my least favorite to play as by far.
It's completely contrived. He's essentially Vergil's nobody. 0 interesting personality or moments. Next to Nero or Dante, he completely deflates all the energy of the scene. What were they even thinking adding in a stoic, lifeless character to a Cuhrayzee game? And his moveset does nothing to hell his case.
Worst part? He has no future in the series. They couldn't even bother creating a character that fans coulf be excited to see again. I was more invested in Lucia.
Also it was the only way to show vergil express his human side without feeling out of character, so they just put it into a new character instead. It makes sense and works so I don't see why people are upset.
I don't care what you think
Nero is so fine in this game
I want him to do the naughty naughty with Uncle Dante
I disagree. I think the early levels have a good intimidating atmosphere to them. You're going through a city still being consumed by a single entity and unlike 2 or 3 we actually see people being killed by it. The charred remains everywhere in mission 2 are genuinely creepy.
Nero is so cute I want to pinch his cheeks
They're not even charred. They're entirely exsanguinated, which is why there are "veins" running up through the ground which have sucked them dry of blood.
Yea people are hating on this game to much. It seems like a bunch of shills though. Because the threads weren't like this even 5 days ago. I think the trannies are the menace of Yea Forums
"veins" : blood :: Nero : Dante's Juice
*wink*
How can people who speak negatively about a game be shills? Do you even know what you are saying? You look like the shill here with your allergy to criticism and desperation to create a space where the game is only talked about the game in a positive light. I bet you even go around saying "Capcom is back", unironically.
>torrented the game
>try to install it
>it won't install
I don't know who corepack is but you suck.
You what, mate?
So were the military's job to keep the demons from getting outside Redgrave?
I mostly mean people who go around posting x is better than y or y is better than x or sekiro needs and easy mode or the people constantly posting about how good sony is.
when i started to play sekiro,
When I first heard devil trigger
When I booted the game up.
>Level design doesn't exist, this game may as well be bloody palace with a few procedurally generated walls
>The color pallet is gray on gray on random neon
>V is fucking terrible to play to the point that just mashing buttons is more effective, in both damage and style ranking, than actually trying to play him "correctly"
>No turbo mode
>Day 1 on disc DLC weapons
>No good costumes, just lazy pallet swaps
>No weapon skins
>Pre-order bonus
>3 characters, 1 of which is complete shit
>No Lady
>No Trish
>No Vergil
>Have to wait hours to play Dante, and once again he shows up with a weapon loadout that doesn't match DMC3's because we really fucking needed Rebellion and two Rebellion variants, but at least the fist weapon isn't shit this time
>Massive amount of stupid bloated cutscenes that they clearly blew a huge chunk of the budget on despite the writing being fucking terrible and the storyline going absolutely nowhere. If these dumbshits are going to blow money on face scans, retarded sentai mocap, voice acting and setpieces, at least make this shit passable
>Vergil's boss fight is basically DmC's fight, but slightly faster, sort of
>The bosses in general have not improved at all from DMC4's awful bosses
>Non-cutscene face models are some of the worst I have seen in years. Bad expressions, terrible hair quality, and dear god Dante randomly looks like he's channeling fuckin Cleric Beast or something
>Sin DTs look fucking terrible and are the most overdesigned trash I have ever seen
>Yet another DMC game where every character undergoes a complete visual redesign because Itsuno can't make up his mind on what the fuck he wants characters to look like, taking it a step farther and also changing how all the weapons look for absolutely no reason
>Nero continues to exist for no apparent reason, he is literally an annoying tween retard AGAIN, and his character development is crying over whatever AGAIN
>Music is somehow worst than DmC
>Music is somehow worst than DmC
From the demo's release, to the game's release.
Dante and Vergil being identical twins.
Nero is so cute. I love how angsty he is but YOU'RE WRONG he has a lot of character development from the 4th game
I just wish he'd forget his girlfriend and make out with Dante already... Dante CLEARLY loves him...……… like, true love
Honestly not until my second play through.
V wasn't Mundus, game turned out to be KH-tier Vergil wankfic; no unlockables costumes
>wankfic
>fic
>fiction
TOO BAD IT'S CANON
Vergil x Nero is Father/Son, that's absolutely disgusting
but Dante x Nero is So Acceptable
did dmcv live up to your expectations? I didn't get it yet. seems like everyone outside of v forgot about it already
They gave Nero a haircut and hade him super hot like,
>take my money
Absolutely. I would even say they were exceeded.
No.
Yes and no.
Alright lads post your favorite track from 5
youtube.com
>seems like everyone outside of v forgot about it already
You clearly don't visit a lot of places.
I knew the game was amazing since the demo but Mission 03 is where it hit me that I was truly playing kino.
The warm dawn sunlight, the sad and lonely music, watching V fight demons in the distance really drove home a surreal vibe.
While the story is on the weak side, gameplay exceeded my expectations. I recommended it.
Why does DT Nero with DMC4 hair look pretty fucking good?
GOTY 2019: DMCV or REmake2?
Sekiro
So that Dante will have something to pull on when he's teaching Nero the ways of love
Identical twins don't look the same forever user, you're forgetting how old they're getting and differences in environment they've been exposed to
Because the Alucard hair looks goofy as fuck.
Easily Cavaliere's theme.
youtu.be
Also while I don't hate King Cerberus' theme I like the short version that plays when you get the devil arm more.
youtu.be
Also, one of them was a fucking demon for a while, then turned into an emo poet and another demon, then finally turned back into a human. That shit probably stops you from aging and messes you up on some biological factor.
not everyone can enjoy Sekiro, though. My normie bro loved dmcv because he could complete it on Human.
Unironically, Subhuman.
youtube.com
Are there more unique quotes between Nero and Vergil?
DMC 5 is good but not excellent. Honestly, you have low standards if you think this is the best that Devil May Cry can be.
If DSP can beat it, so can your brother.
When the game booted up.
Personally so far
DMC5>RE2>Sekiro>KH3
Waiting to see what crit mode and other updates bring to KH3 but I don't see it being GOTY. At the very least though all the heavy hitters this year so far have ranged from decent to phenomenal
Not that user but come on, it's an obvious retcon. They're still twins, just no longer identical. I find it frustrating but also understand the technical constraints of using facial capture the way they did. If they used the same face model for both but had two different actors doing the facial capture, they'd have looked distorted next to each other.
Overall, I think it was a worthwhile trade-off but I'll admit I'm a bit sad to see the plot point dropped but I've at least accepted it.
I think it's the best it's been but not the best it can be. They were right to focus on the parts of the game that they did but I'm hoping this is a foundation they build on to make something even more spectacular moving forward.
It was fast. But the amount of hidden locations, red orbs, charachter personalization, world building and setup was definitely worth it.
>Hit S rank.
>YOU CANNOT KILL ME
Always feels good.
Gaming journalists can't win it while they dialate unfortunately
Game journos loved Sekiro, though.
Well shit. Based as fuck
Don't be greedy.
Wait for the DMC5: Special Edition.
When I went back to playing 4
This.
Good boss but very easy to S rank.
Nice, remember: You're only a casual if you give up
This SDT, DSD, quadruple S, and sword transform are the best shit ever
I've beaten legendary dark knight and blitzes don't appear in this room
what point are you trying to prove with mods?
The atmosphere of the early missions is great. Felt like it really went downhill once they entered the tree.
Not during the awful V segments thats for sure
>There are people who legitimately don't like the look of DSD
I mean, to each their own but FUCK if it isn't one of my favorite swords in the series. Obviously the story significance makes it better but I love the opening during DT and Sword Formation, the semi-organic look, everything about it. Dante just looks right with a straight sword.
When the sword's name came up on the screen. That was the hypest shit in the series for me.
I think the claws look bad and the scales going through the middle of the sword should be thinned out to show more of the blade.
royal guard is the best in that fight
the second I started playing as Dante
seriously, I liked V well enough and I do love Nero but I just want a full Dante game with more Devil Arms, guns and maybe a new extra style
When Dante said the word
when i realized how much i fucking dont like sekiro
Looks like it was made by a toku designer.
>>Music is somehow worst than DmC
I'll let this one slide because it's hard to compete with CombiChrist
it looks better in the concept art where theres a more noticeable red down the middle
>Guarding every hit of his combo then royal releasing on the final hit.
Cavaliere really is an amazing boss. He puts large majority of bosses in the series to shame.
why are people hating on V so much?
Sure he's a weirdo to Westerners but I'm sure he's MASSIVELY appealing to Japanese fans
Because he's fucking boring to play as.
and co op bloody palace
*ahem*
dsd is the worst sword of dmc design wise
he's fun if you don't use Nightmare and just spam royal fork
hes boring as fuck after the first run
I think it looks dumb next to rebellion. It doesn't really have any character its more like a throwaway Monster Hunter paddle.
He's fun but he's still pretty limited compared to dante and nero
Should have dropped the power up mechanic and given him a tiny Phantom as a third option or something
They ruined Yamato in this game, they made it look more ornate, it was better when it looked more plain in 3 and 4.
I do not agree. I think V being playable takes away time you could be playing as Nero or Dante.
Nobody liked the fact Nero took away gameplay time as Dante at first, but got over it because his gameplay wasn't bad.
V doesn't have that. He just sucks up missions with his tedious style.
When Dante called Nero dead weight.
V's charm is that he uses a generic cane to fight instead of a big sword. Whacking demons and using royal fork fulfills that wish.
It's also a really easy way to get SSStylish.
that does look quite a bit better. The concept art also seems to bulge less in the middle and the pommel looks less tacky.
it's literally just the Akantor greasword
I don't find that charming at all because I play DMC to play as a crazy anime guy beating the shit out of monsters with a variety of weapons.
I'm also sick of you faggots saying "dude just royal fork lol" you sound like those retards thinking Manual cancelling alone in Vesperia makes the early gameplay god tier.
as amazing as nero is and refreshing v is, the first time i did dantes stinger combo then swapped to balrog and accidentally did a pretty sweet mixture of blow/kick swordmaster i knew that itll take a miracle to make a better dante than 5s version
>Balrog going into ignition when I was in mission 11
>S stylish
>YOU CANNOT KILL ME
This was the moment. Honorable mention to Cavaliere Angelo when you parry and stagger him.
It's crazy that there are people more autistic than Yea Forums sometimes.
>Go on some twitter for a DMC5 style guy
>They're just insulting each other because their subculture is literally exploding because they're fucking angry DLC arms weren't in BP, and that reversals had to be modded into the game
>Also that the reward for beating BP wasn't an EX skin
when gerbera made everything fun
I wished there more costumes, there are virtually none
urizens revealed model being balrog + his combat animations for the most part are punch/kicks
when lady was naked
Jesus you zoomers thinking games run on twitch numbers and sustained play and not day 1 sales are fucking retarded.
People said the same shit about Detroit Become Human despite the fact that it was a smash hit and people discussed it for weeks on end despite not even having fucking gameplay, kill yourself
Never
He's not a good boss but he's not offensively bad like gigapede, nightmare and super pope either.
I don't know what they did but DMC5 Dante is a huge step up from DMC4 Dante. Maybe the moves feel more natural to combo or something I don't know. I didn't enjoy playing DMC4 Dante but DMC5 Dante is incredible.
Why did they get rid of most fun move?
All the ingame allusions to V being Mundus. Crimson Cloud makes zero sense as human Vergil's theme song but fits Mundus properly.
The fact that there is no first act, as well. There is no story buildup whatsoever.
Balrog is a lot smoother than Gilgamesh, DSD was made to be more intuitive than 4 Rebellion while adding more depth, and Lucifer/Pandora are complex in a bad way compared to Cavaliere/King Cerberus/Dr. Faust. E&I and Shotgun also got expanded movesets, as well as Trickster.
>they made it look more ornate
That's why it's better
because it was useless
Pandora is the worst weapon despite being a cool idea.
It'll be fun when Lady gets it for her DLC
This game is shit simply because Nero doesn't say Slam Dunk after using Knuckle/Buster
That is all
Literally bought more hype akin to Vergil 3 than DMC5 Vergil himself.
Lady can't use demon weapons as she doesn't have the demon energy to fuel them.
I miss when he says crazy
You don't need to be a demon to use devil arms, Enzo used it in DMC1 novel
It almost corrupted and killed Enzo, Dante had to cut it off of him.
I do like how different parts of the music gets added in the higher your Style gets.
Remember Me on PS3/360/PC also did something like that where the better you are in combat, the more parts of the music gets added in.
She already would have used projectile based devil arms if she could. Lady is actually super weak and can't defeat anything above shit tier demons.
Dante is amazing. I can't get good at Nero at all.
It ain't a masterpiece, it has clear flaws, but it's pretty good and finally a good character action game since 3
>when the guitar kicks in
youtu.be
>character action
You have to go back.
one of crimson clouds main lyrics is SPLIT MYSELF IN TWO and you think V wasn't always vergil? come on
Was it kino?
>SPLIT MYSELF IN TWO
could refer to anything if the plot was different
>all those cringe lords cringing at this
Yes it was kino. It was short and it got you completely off guard and it was nice how no one reacted to it after it was done except for Nico who doesn't know Dante well yet. It was good that they have done it only once in the entire game. Should have been a fedora though since a cowboy hat has zero relation with Michael.
it was
Mission 7 is underrated. It's got some really cool set pieces.
Haven't yet.
How many playthroughs do I have to do to find the thing that makes it a masterpiece? Only done 3 so far.
I love the escalator fight, I wish more rooms had that kind of unique topography.
>homage to a pedo
yikes
METAL GEAR
Arcade mode with faster loading screens when
>mj
>pedo
But this highlights one of the games biggest problems. Dante is so much more fun than everyone else and you only spend half of the game playing as him. Nero is okay but the devil breaker implementation makes him feel so much more limited than Dante. V is just garbage and anyone who pretends otherwise is fooling themselves. Hes okay-ish on a first playthrough but when playing on higher difficulties hes a fucking chore.
of course, boomer dante busting out the classics.
>1 is pretty unique
>3 takes everything from 1 and makes it so much better
>4 takes everything from 3 and improves it better still
>5 again manages to raise the bar higher
There have been a couple stalls (2, DmC) but overall watching the gameplay of this series get better and better has been truly amazing.
>4 takes everything from 3 and improves it better still
>leaving redditland
You need to go back.
Souls x Souless
Are you pretending to be retarded?
How do you put them on auto?
