The issue with Miles was never that he was black, but rather how he was introduced to the (Ultimate) comics. Peter gets killed off, but there's this kid that just has his array of powers, including the new and improved Venom blast™ that just so happens can one-shot most, if not all, enemies he faces. Then there's the whole in-comics focus on him being black. That page with Luke Cage was so fucking cringeworthy.
