But what do they eat?
Primm, the OTHER New Vegas
Probably get food shipments
gibs from sharecropper farms
They eat shit and die.
>revenue from their shitty casino
>halfway between a busy outpost and a town with a bunch of farms
>30000 wild geckos outside the city walls
I'm more worried about Nipton since all they had was whores and scorpions
They're an entertainment shithole, so they probably traded with the surrounding farmers.
bullets
>cram
>pork n beans
>fancy lad snake cakes
>dandy boy apples
>salisbury steak
>iguana on a stick
>squirrel on a stick
>Nuka-Cola
>Rat stew
>Ruby's Casserole
Jesus christ, what does everyone eat in every other fucking Fallout game?
They eat scorpions, duh
This.
Primm is the most trash settlement in the Mojave. I wish there was a quest that let me nuke it.
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND.
I NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY EAT.
I CANNOT POSSIBLY ENJOY A VIDEO GAME UNLESS I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY EAT.
WHAT'S SUSPENSE OF DISBELIEF? YOU CAN'T EAT THAT!
>iguana and squirrel consumables
>you never see live iguanas or squirrels in the game
There's the mojave outpost right down the road full of traders, and the prison is a problem because that highway strip is a major route for traders.
Not an acceptable answer.
youtu.be
No, those are all just excuses for NV's bad writing and world building, as clearly shown in the OP.
Go away, Josh.
In case you didn't get the joke, you gave the same explanations used for Fallout 3, which are met by the same kind of response.
I'd assume Primm gets a food shipments with the postal office and being close to Vegas borders
The secret ingredient to Ruby Nash's casserole is people.
BUT WHAT DO THEY EEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
Shipments from the NCR farms that are accurately displayed in-game? Or maybe the beef from the Bighorners and Brahmin that are visibly corralled in most settlements?
You know, the things that Fallout 3 never did.
>Let me ask you a question - what's the tastiest thing you've ever eaten?
Literally what DO they eat? The boat is at the edge of the map, with nothing but bombed out buildings and super mutants between them and any other glimpse of civilisation.
Mirelurks. Also there's a small agricultural lab that Dr. Li had started.
duke nukem is that you
but those are valid explanations, tho
You really think any of the incompetent chucklefucks on that rusty tin can have the gall to hunt down 500lbs of angry crab every time someone gets the munchies?
id rather eat Ruby’s asshole
Its pretty well known that iguana in a stick is made of human flesh, you can check for yourself playing fallout 1 or searching videos on youtube
that reminds me
the fuck do the mirelurks eat?
see
Before the courier wakes up everyone used to use the I-15 (if you look at the map it was the most accessible route to vegas from the Mojave outpost before the local vermin moved in) so they probably used the casinos to lure newcomers before moving onto vegas and then traded with prospectors, caravans and local farmers.
After the courier passes through people talk about how "Primm wimped out and accepted NCR rule." even if you put Primm Slim or Meyers in charge so they were probably starving and had to accept aid or be forced to migrate.
my bullets
Get Fucked.
krill or plankton or some dumb sea plants that dont exist
>obsidrone can't read
How hard would it be to pick away at Mirelurks with a rifle all the way from the top of the boat?
Small fish probably. They're just mutated crabs, right?
My cousins sweaty toe
No, not a valid answer, you're just pulling things out of your ass.
They then have to haul that mirelurk back to the boat, user.
I can, though. There aren’t any farms or notable economies in 3 to explain food distribution, unlike NV, so your joke doesn’t really work.
they're obviously carnivores, completely unsuited to filter feeding, not to mention that the area is not properly connected to the ocean
Thing is, if the river actually contained fish, wouldn't there be fish on the menu in Rivet City? How about large fish traps
This is the only one in FO3 that you can't answer with wild game since there's none out there. All I can image is trade and/or growing food in the lab but that doesn't seem to be for mass consumption.
that’s iguana bits
>There aren’t any farms or notable economies in 3
Rivet City, Megaton, and Canterbury Commons
radiated barnicles from the side of the boat. biggest piece of fish meat you’ll find round these here parts. its almost like pre war steak aparently! big chewy piece of meat. i think its like steak, the faggot ghoul says he was around before the bombs and he says its like that. fuck him he eats dogs. anyways, it goes well with a scotch and nuka drink. hey if we’re lucky we get to eat mirelurk. they’re a bit rarer because those niggers keep taking arms off our boys but hey thats life. sometimes the faggots from Megaton send us some clean water. thats some nice water, makes my headache go away. anyways guys, this terminal is making my fingers and face go numb and i just spat out a tooth so im going to go get drunk! hope charlie got that shipment of moonshine (is that how its spelled? my pre war dictionary book fell into the water the other day)
>You're just pulling my leg, right? Why would anyone... uh... never mind. Anyway...
>There aren’t any farms or notable economies in 3 to explain food distribution
I can flat out lie too.
>unlike NV, so your joke doesn’t really work.
There aren’t any farms or notable economies in NV to explain food distribution.
all other answers, but also anything they can kill, so people and dogs id say
WHAT DOES ANYONE FROM THIS GAME EAT?!
Like fucking seriously, they cant survive on pre-war shit alone and its not like anyone is farming on a scale to produce any surplus. I can get water because theres a river, but what about actual food?
Aside from Megaton and Water.
None of those are shown to have any capability to produce foodstuffs in enough quantities to trade let alone sustain themselves.
cute gecko
>Town you wake up in is a farming town
>Nipton also had its own farms
>An entire section outside New Vegas is devoted to agriculture
>NCR control a trading post at the border
>The next settlement over was a small casino town
>New Vegas itself is an entertainment hub with stores everywhere
>Caravaners move between all of these places
I'll give you the pitt. But the settlements are farms or economies, the most that happens is small trade.
Mirelurks are pretty solifly armored, doubt you could get a good shot at their face from up high. And if everyone is scared of radioactive dirty water eating a mutated crab living in that water seems dumb.
Megaton doesn't actually produce anything and neither does Rivet City
the only place in the entire wasteland that has any sort of positive economic production are the slavers
And? That's the easy part. One Mirelurk could probably feed at least a dozen people, judging by their size.
>Thing is, if the river actually contained fish, wouldn't there be fish on the menu in Rivet City? How about large fish traps
I just assume it's one of those things that is supposed to be there, but we never actually see it in game due to mechanical limitations.
>or growing food in the lab but that doesn't seem to be for mass consumption.
Again, I think it's one of those things that's supposed to be much larger than it actually is in concept, but isn't in actual scale in the game itself.
It's like how the Imperial City is supposed to be one of the most massive capitols in all of Cyrodil, but in the actual game it has less than 100 people living there.
>the fuck do the mirelurks eat?
anything that moves
>cute gecko
FO3's farmland equates to 1-3 brahmin per settlement and a handful of crops whereas NV has that in most settlements as well as a giant NCR farm just outside Vegas. All FO3 really needs to satisfy the autists is a giant dedicated farm site just outside Canterbury Commons or something.
If the mirelurks eat people, and people eat the mirelurks then shouldn't both predators get out of food, real fast?
You can lie, but are you going to prove you're right?
Honestly, why wouldn't you support the NCR in this game? They have the infrastructure to actually make a difference and in the end is better for New Vegas as well as all the cities outside of it.
>more ass pull excuses
Try harder, obsidrone.
>a giant NCR farm just outside Vegas.
that only feeds NCR citizens
a few lab grown apples and one super market isn't going to feed much of anyone
play the game again
Agreed, if anything by creating a labour surplus they allow farmers to get cheap labour to help them farm more food. Slavers are the real MVPs.
Wait wait wait
don't they have a science lab researching hydroponics?
Megaton produces a little bit of clean water once the player fixes the pipes and does the DLC i thought
Cringe picture. Cringe post.
Go figure
i want to hug those geckos
>Nevada farms around the strip
>NCR built farms near Mc'carran
>settlements have farms and livestock and clean water access
>those that doesn't have it deals in gambling and entertainment trades for amenities
>traders hailing all the way to California and Legion territories
user its alright being contrarian, just don't bring it to the point of retardation.
The whole plot of F3 is that water is irradiated and you need to fix that fucking purifier.
When are (you) going to try fucktard?
It'd be far more economical for the farmers to also eat their own crops, and the farmers will be bound to trade some food for some 'luxury'new vegas goods such as weapons since God knows the NCR is shit at security.
Imagine owning your own land and house for decades and then some randos come in and tell you that you have to start paying them taxes
>I just assume it's one of those things that is supposed to be there, but we never actually see it in game due to mechanical limitations.
modding in fish and a fish market would take all of 5 minutes
add a bunch of fishermen npc, maybe a couple of fishing boats moored around the ship and that's all the explanation you need
while you're add it have them bring up some mutant seaweed as well and you've got a monotonous but stable nutritional base for the city to survive on
You can still fucking drink the water irradiated or not.
making experiments on a few crops.
You don't need to shoot them in the face though. It just makes it easier to kill them if you do. The player is capable of eating Mirelurk and nothing bad happens outside of getting a couple of rads. It even heals them.
it doesn't produce near enough water to actually export it
they can only spare a couple of bottles at best per day for you, your friggin' robot butler can get that much by condensing
Is that radroach pointing to the vault slut?
The New California Republic, established in Fallout 2 and Fallout 2, exists within what was the state of California. If the Fallout Bible and the Official Game Guide are to be trusted, the NCR has a population of roughly 700,000 people. If they are not to be trusted, then the NCR still has a population above 100,000, as Ranger Chief Hanlon claims the NCR Army has lost roughly 1000 Troopers to the Mojave every year and the Army has been stationed there for 7 years, so roughly 7000 dead soldiers is not considered a massive, unsustainable loss of life, reflecting a significant population back home.
Interstate 15, the road from Mojave Outpost that runs through the town of Primm all the way north to New Vegas, is mentioned several times to have been the main road for people from California to use. This includes the Army, independent traders, small trading caravans and larger groups such as Crimson Caravan, the Gun Runners and the Van Graffs. And, of course, people going to Vegas to throw their money away.
Primm has one casino and, before the Powder Gangers, had a hotel in the Bison Steve. Since it is the first significant stop on the I-15 heading into Vegas and the last significant stop heading out of the Mojave, the town clearly does its fair share of trade with passing merchants and earns a respectable income from gamblers. This is reinforced by NCR supporting the town after being persuaded it could be taxed, and NCR's taxation being notoriously high.
So, to answer the question: Whatever's on offer.
Sure, but feeding a large population with it would still need a much larger space than what they got on the boat. Veggies are very low energetically
>live in a town
>you and the people there are self-sufficient and can defend yourselves
>some asshole in khaki comes in and says you are a citizen of their state now without your consent
Because they want to run the world just like Pre-War America, right down to making the same mistakes as their ancestors.
>getting mad at a .png
>reddit spacing
go figure
it also breeds corruption within the NCR
local game? Theres a lot of geckos infront of primm if I recall, as well as sizeable ant and scorpion colonies. Vegetable I can't say, perhaps they buy shipments from the NCR. Remember until recently Primm was sitting on the main NCR supply line to New Vegas, before the blasting at the quarry opened up a deathclaw nest
>pic
But the other way is even more dangerous.
the raider corpses i throw into the river.
i eat fresh dick
the entire setting of F3 makes sense
IF you assume that DC has only been habitable for
FALLOUT 3:
>Organised hunting and small scale farming, although farming is unsuccessful due to lack of irrigation. As well as small scale fishing, but only to feed families, probably not worth while as the only fish shack we see in FO3 is abandoned.
NEW VEGAS:
>Organised farming and small scale hunting. The armies are either supplied by pillaging locals or by supply lines, Legion most likely by pillaging as seen by the abundance of raiding parties attacking caravans and such, NCR most likely by supply lines as seen with the NCR check point near Nipton.
The Pitt was the best F3 dlc.
For as much fame as Fallout gets the only new generation title to show what a megatropolis looks like after the end was The Pitt and I fucking loved it. We need more of that. Boston was meh.
>can defend yourselves
barely, eventually some better armed raiders will show up and wreck you
>get upset at people shitting on fallout 3 on Yea Forums of all places
>be the bottom bitch you are and let is stew for a few years before bitching about Fallout: New Vegas by making a low-intellect low-effort thread 9 years after the fact
>still so insecure at the effectiveness of your jab and your own wit that you need to explain your "clever" joke to the anonymous users of this Vietnamese rice-farming online forum.
Point Lookout was fun too
The Pitt also made sense
They were the only place within a 1000 mile range that could produce high-grade steel in large quantities, anything else they could get through trade because steel is god damn useful for everything
And then the game becomes more and more unstable with each mod, making crashes more frequent and lowering the overall FPS in that area.
Gamebryo is a shit engine, and no Bethesda game should be taken at face value when it comes to these kinds of specifics.
This is a very flattering image of the largest city in Skyrim, and it only consists of 24 buildings.
Iv always assumed most of the settlements were at max 40-50 years old. I feel like this was coaberated in the game from a terminal but my memory isn't perfect. Something about DC basically being glow in the dark for a long time. DC works if its opened up in the last 10-20 years and is experiencing a prospector rush. With the oldest settlements being Tenpenny Tower, Rivet City, and Megaton in that order. Tenpenny Tower makes sense especially, I can see it as being the first outer settlement far enough away to not make you sterile, and the last place you can visit before you leave back to your shithole thus bringing it wealth in trade.
I'd breed her desu
>calling someone out on there cringeitude
>getting mad
ha
also
>getting butthurt for some because of me properly typing
lolz
Its worth noting that every single person in the pitt is starving, even the guards. The only people well fed are the leader and his wife.
Penis fingers
This. OP is a faggot as per usual
>that could produce high-grade steel in large quantities
they also produced weapons and had the ability to research unknown disease and actually treat the symptoms
Fuck I wanna re-play it now thanks user.
The legion actually has a better supply line than the NCR since some fucktard nuked the I-15.
Raids are not for supplies but because its strains the NCR's logistics even more.
Just to clear up a little. The Legion actually has vast farmland, in its conquered territories. Remember The Legion=/=The society Caesar has built behind the Legion. The Legion is just like the NCR army in that its the armed forces of a nation state. We just never get to see the nation state behind the legion. We do know however its very safe, but very totalitarian with your life being pretty much ok and safe, you enjoy a moderate amount of wealth and youre able to eat regularly but are taxed in food or services by the legion and if a Legionnaire says move or jump you say where to or how high or your head gets cut off no arguments allowed.
yes but NV actually demonstrated where food was created and had full blown trading companies establishing their roles in dialogue instead of random dipshits with no backstories, one bodyguard and a single cow
3's writing was shit
The Pitt made even less fucking sense than 3. It barely functions scavenging steel ingots that are, for some unexplained reason, scattered around the ruins of the city. As soon as that supply of Pre-War steel runs out, their production is fucked. Their workforce of slaves is already turning into monsters just trying to find new ingots, they'd never get anywhere trying to tear down buildings to use the rebar and there's no iron or coal mines they can use instead.
The steel mill is a relic of a world that had things like transportation and infrastructure to support national efforts. It's borderline worthless in the wasteland, especially the East Coast wasteland where no one does anything worthwhile,
>And? That's the easy part. One Mirelurk could probably feed at least a dozen people, judging by their size.
Mirelurks live in groups, idiot. How are you going to get one out without getting ganked by the rest of them?
that's not in the game sadly, it's a fairly common headcannon that up until recently DC was Glow-lite but ingame the settlements are old, Megaton dating back to just after the bombs fell
so much could have been explained through that headcannon though, why there are so many raiders (came to early, got radiated and have a decade left at best so spending it in hedonism), why there's so few kids, why the brotherhood showed up, why they're no agriculture and why project purity is so damn important (it's the first shot at the capitol becoming a truly settled place rather than a miserable dead-end)
lamplight would need some more rewriting as well, instead of sending the adults to big-town the feed the adults to their mushrooms as well as set up traps for other adults so they can feed them as well
god, the lack of shadows makes fallout 3 and nv look so fucking bad
Heres a (you)
I wanted to ejaculate on Dr.Mala's brain tank.
Just get a hunting party together, we see plenty of hunting parties in game.
the ingots are only for the highest-grade steel, for the lesser quality steel they disassemble the plentiful metal lying around and reforge it
But wasnt Pittsbourgh in the fallout universe still the king? I mean the whole current failing American Rustbelt wouldnt exist in Fallout as trade with china isn't a thing so the Rust Belt would have extensive steel mill and auto construction facilities. I always assumed they were tearing apart the city for the steel which you can see and is supported in game by the slaves. The steel ingots in the yard were just a nice already made resource that the Pitt was basically stealing. You can see them melting down scrap for steel and iron in game.
Mirelurks, shit they got from traders, scavenged shit from the city and they were growing fresh fruit and veg in the lab if I’m remembering correctly
>The Legion actually has vast farmland
Arizona was mostly tribals living off the land, which Caesar enslaved, and cities that did their best to survive in a state crawling with idiots and raiders, which Caesar 'looks after'.
There's nothing like NCR's brahmin ranches out East, just a bunch of towns that live pretty much just like they used to 30 years ago.
>It barely functions scavenging steel ingots
What do they even use it for? Its not like there are still huge industries that are capable of fully harnessing it properly. If people wanted metal for makeshift weapons they are better off taking scraps for free.
I hated Old World Blues. It was so tedious and by the time I reached the end of it I didn't care about roleplaying my character anymore and just slaughtered everyone in the Think Tank
Legion has barely any supply lines in foreign territory, it's one of the things that would fuck them up royally if they decide to invade the NCR: the NCR can actually engage in scorched earth tactics
Degenerates like you belong on a cross
>you will never help reintroduce Dala to the pleasures of flesh
>doesn't approve of ass-raping
>DETERGENT DETERGENT DETERGENT
Yeah, yeah. Change the record, buddy.
various city-states would have need for steel as well as weapons manufacturing
a place like Boston in 4 would need a constant supply of steel
The big resource you're given access to is a bullet press. That's how the Raiders stay in power. Bullets.
Classic. Urge to reinstall rising
you mean like the ncr?
so, was OP and friends just pretending?
sorry randy this is the fallout thread, borderlands is 2 doors down
What did I do? I thank him on his post...
That headcanon is reaching at straws at best. There is nothing in DC worth anything that can't be found anywhere else in the wasteland. also
>lamplight would need some more rewriting as well
Lamplight needs to be erased.
>join a powerful state grants you some rights in exchange of some freedoms
>avoid getting you and your family ass-raped by the 1001 flavours of legion and raider tribes of the west
And that's why we call it the social contract.
NCR heartland is literally the safest, most prosperous place in the entire world
Nevada is not a good representation of what they're like, they have things like public education, healthcare and public transport
>We're a settlement of kids teehee!
I agree, kids cant use a shitter without training no matter run a nation state. All it would be is the first kid to find a gun would eat all the food and then shoot everyone then himself.
DC was the capitol and if it was Glow-Lite it would have ensured most of it was scavenger-proof until the radiation level went down leaving a lot of treasures to be found
Will the Frontier ever be finished?
>Legion has barely any supply lines in foreign territory,
They have no problem with reinforcements nor logistics in the game, their supply line to their territory is clear and secure. All of their foodstuffs and water are fresh, given that they scorn pre-war products, their production is efficient.
Nevada would be the staging point for the California Invasion if they won, they know how to keep ground and deny it.
It worked in Mad Max 3 though.
When the fuck did New Vegas get real time shadows? What mod?
And where to they get the powder? Bullets aren't just made from metal. Even then the better materials are cheap lead and brass.
It's my private use ENB, sorry user.
probably not but that image is from Fallout 3 in front of Dukovs Place
There are none mentioned in the Pitt. Even DC is a place too far for them.
They survive mostly off plundering local tribes, there's a reason that the stalemate favors the NCR heavily
the Legion literally could not invade the NCR even at full force, the NCR's vastly superior supply lines and logistics within their own territory would just overwhelm them
Because they're all stacked up along the Colorado. The rest of the territory is being held by reserves.
>They have no problem with reinforcements nor logistics in the game
They had to spend 5 years recovering from the aftermath of Hoover Dam and Lanius tells you that taking Denver almost broke the Legion. It's reaching a size where its way of sustaining itself is going to fall apart before too long.
>NCR heartland is literally the safest, most prosperous place in the entire world
>Nevada is not a good representation of what they're like
You can literally say the same thing about the Legion but that's not the point. It's your land, and your people you work with and for. You can't just give that up for "prosperity" when you were already doing fine. Freedom is worth than giving some fat fuck politician more money in some foreign place for the privelege to be taxed.
>mad max 3
Its been nuked to shit, all that's buried there are reduced to shit.
Got a burger and a beer there then drove over to california and took a piss on the ground. Doing my part for forest fires or whatnot.
>Play New Vegas
>Spec into explosives
>Firing a rocket launcher into a pack of Casadores gives me more EXP than completing most quests
What the fuck is going on
I feel retarded now.
Mad Max 3 is the garbage movie of the franchise.
Strange meat pies
I mean, it worked for Fallout: New Vegas, The Sorrows were a group of children that settled in Zion.
Not if you want to see your next birthday.
That's why they need Nevada and the Dam. It would provide them with supplies and a much closer base to operate from.
you know you guys can talk about games without shitposting right
The Sorrows also had god damn Randall Clark watching over them and he only died after several of them had turned adults
the wasteland took your mind, traveler
but where's the fun in that?
now try this
>They survive mostly off plundering local tribes
They don't, the Legion is a Military State made from several tribes, but they have a functioning means of production and economy.
>here's a reason that the stalemate favors the NCR heavily
the stalemate was bleeding the NCR while the Legion was preparing, and the holding Nevada was getting unpopular in California.
Yeah, but that's not my point. You can write the children's crusade trope well and make it believable, you just need to pay attention to the setting you are presenting.
the NCR area agriculture is barely sufficient to supply the local people, let alone and army on top of that
and that is assuming the NCR doesn't sabotage all their agricultural projects before withdrawing
Nevada holds little of value, which is one of the arguments to get Lanius to fuck off, and the Legion itself has no real use for the Dam. Caesar is the only one there who doesn't actually want it.
The only DLC I genuinely liked was Dead Money on hardcore mode. Wish hardcore mode was harder though, you only have to eat like 3 maize and sleep every 3 days and you're fine
>the Legion is a Military State
No, the Legion is a nomadic army. It's not a state or government of any kind.
the Legion however HAD to go on the offensive, not the NCR
despite the fact that support was dwindling, and despite the fact that it was costing them, the NCR still was confident in taking a defensive position and the Legion was not
those are simple facts, if the Legion was physically capable of winning the war of attrition they would have done so as Caesar had absolute authority to force his troops to stay until they dropped dead
They were survivors and escapees that turned into a tribe and survive.
not a bunch of children that just magically appear and form a group with no adults
They have their own currency.
It has a government that is very faintly hinted at throughout the game.
project nevada removes healing effects from food
makes the sierra madre martinis invaluable
The legion has a territory that it maintains and protectorate citizens that are not in the army.
not to mention that they would have to invade the NCR territory from that point onwards and in doing so they would find exactly zero supplies to loot, face vastly superior equipped and organized NCR troops that could take defensive positions whenever they wanted while they had to also spend significant manpower protecting their ever increasing supply lines
add onto that the railroad network allowing the NCR to have superior troop concentrations and you have yourself a forgone conclusion
not to mention that a direct assault on NCR homeland would, unlike the Mojave campaign, act as a national unifying event rather than a divisive one
They were a group of children and teenagers escaped from a place called The School
made from precious metals at face-value without any proper oversight
that's barely above bartering
They are winning during the course of the game. The NCR is dwindling due to their raids and sabotage, they can strike at NCR operational sites, and has spies and collaborators. The cards are stacked in their favour at that point if nor for the wild card protagonist.
Though if the Protag didn't do anything, Benny would have been the winner.
Its a pedo rape dungeon and you know it.
They have all that and still they felt the need to go on the offensive
if their supply lines were in anything resembling a decent state they could have kept up their sabotage and wait campaign for another year
What would that turn out like? House dead, the tribes in control if Benny didn't kill them all. Would he deal with Caesar?
>game states there is a stalemate
>nuh uh! nuh uh!
Whatever, man. You can play the game and side with the Legion so they win, you don't have to write fan-fiction about how they are so strong they can win the game without you even needing to install Fallout: New Vegas.
>the NCR area agriculture is barely sufficient to supply the local people, let alone and army on top of that
that's only because all of the efforts are on the Dam rather than developing the area.
remember to mod your game
I'm pretty sure it's implied that the NCR has too much shit going on, coupled with incompetent leadership, that the Legion would pull a victory without you.
get fucked
fallout 3 showed crops being created in rivet city and you can literally follow the traders around the map hitting every settlement.
> white johnson nash
>rail blows up
>spies in the enemy ranks
>daily raids and patrol ambushes
>troop and supply build-up
Did you even understood what's in the game you played?
There is a stalemate yes, but it favored one faction better than the other. Its war you numbnuts, not a timeout in the playground.
Why are the companions so out of place? Do Radscorpion casserole cures you of niggerism?
Did they accidentally swapped the models for Doc Henry and Mitchell?
The Legion would win an all out assault on Hoover Dam. The only reason they lost the first time is because Graham walked into a trap set by Hanlon. Now Hanlon has been sidelined and General Oliver is setting up his men for a meatgrinder, the same type of meatgrinder the first battle was when NCR's troopers failed to hold the line.
The only reason Caesar isn't doing that is because, just like Oliver, he wants it to be the biggest battle in Post-War American history. He wants his conquest of the Mojave, and his invasion of California, to begin with a massacre of epic proportions.
And, yes, the game goes to great lengths to show that the Mojave is bleeding NCR dry while Oliver is waiting for his big battle to happen. Some of that is because of the pressure the Legion is putting on them, some of it is because of their own incompetence.
Food from caravans and the food they grow themselves in the rivet city science lab.
Johnson Nash looking like the male lead to a shindol piece
He'd roll over to that hill with his robot army while performing dance routines.
But he'd probably just make the armies go away and the trade and gamblers flowing in.
>AGREE WITH ME! AGREE WITH ME! JUST DO IT! AAAAAHHHHHHGH!
Calm down, it's just make believe.
Damn, NV looked that bad?
Most of these look good except veronica, henry and for some reason nash is white, but the model looks good.
>the model looks good.
They're all ripped from other games
Even for 2010 it was bad. Almost a solid 10 years ago, damn. Draw distance was the bigger offender given the amount of open spaces in the game.
They would only win because of Oliver
Any decent general capable of properly exploiting their defensive position would turn any battle without Boomer air support into a guaranteed victory for the NCR
which also means that any invasion of the NCR is guaranteed to fail as after a loss Oliver would be sacked and the NCR has a vastly superior manpower pool and manufacturing base
That explains it i guess, the shit thing about bethesda games is that they all have the same body type and texture.
Man I wish they would bring NV to the Switch. I am craving a bethesda style rpg to play in bed, but I don't want to buy fuggen skyrim again. what do?
also homm3 on switch please.
Megaton is a tourist attraction tho. They have a bar/motel, doctor, water purifier, a nuke, a local shop and a restaurant.

Why has noone swept up in 200 years.
this picture makes me want to redownload NV with sex mods
meanie!
im sure there were some mods that tweaks the hardcore mode needs. i remember because i was looking for a mod that adds to the sleep bar when you take Jet because i was RPing a tweaker
They run a fucking casino and town, they're also supported by the NCR, what do you think they eat?
Does anyone know when Brave New World releases? It's the only thing that's stopping me from playing right now.
youtube.com
I wonder what I eat
>"Megaton"
>not mega at all
They have a functioning casino, so they make all their money that way. they don’t need to grow crops because they make enough to feed their community. I wonder what Megaton and big town eat though..
megaton is how much all that metal weighs idiot
>they
there's a total of maybe 4 fucking people in Primm
and one of them is a trader
its a pun on nuclear bombs you fucking bimbo
>but what do they weigh?
Ah shit, here we go again.
Ask Ruby, she'll make you a casserole if you bring her the ingredients.
can undetonated bombs just leak radiation?
>can radioactive materials just radiate radiation when improperly shielded
Who else Tale Of Two Wastelands?
Thew new 3.x update causes major incompatibility with most mods, but my game has never been more stable for it.
Nothing more kino than being able to travel back and forth between the two games at will with the same character.
What quest mods are worth looking into for NV Yea Forums
What does rivet make and export?
Yeah, because I'm sure there is 0 tourism in New Vegas.
Hope you shot that stalking fuck point blank in the face with a shotgun.
It's the objectively moral thing to do. he sprints across the wasteland to his own death at a radscorpion pit if you let him live
Mirelurks
is megaton tourism ever mentioned?
Any note or dialogue backing up that claim?
Genuinely curious.
Not sure honestly, Theres really no farms close to Primm
God I can only hope that one day I'll release a game with a plot and characters so widely discussed as NV's
Probably steak and other luxury items because its a casino town near vegas. Even in the post apocalyptic future casinos near vegas will still make bank.
>fallout 3 showed crops being created in rivet city
where, in that tiny ass lab?
>and you can literally follow the traders around the map hitting every settlement.
but what do they trade? who are they getting food from?
The scientist who helps you with the robot man lives in a Mirelurk nest inside the sunken half of the boat so it's the closest thing to Made in Rivet City you're going to get
There's goodsprings, and they likely made Revenue from the bison steve, and bought what they needed from Goodsprings and Traders coming down from the Mojave Outpost along the I-15. Could have also been hunters, there's plenty of Geckos and critters to hunt around the area. Before the NCRCF breakout and the deathclaws at the quarry they would have been able to manage.
Why are modders incapable of making the main women look like anything other than stupid goth bimbos.
They apparently can make a woman look normal, they just have to not give a shit about the character.
This is why everyone hates New Vegas.
Not because of the game itself, not because of the people who made it, not because of the people who own it. But because of it's fans.
This thread started with an obvious joke, poking fun at criticism of Fo3, but NV fans have taken it 100% seriously, and it hasn't stopped.
You're still crying, you're still defending your game from fake criticisms, you've made a mess over literally nothing, once again proving why everyone hates New Vegas.
It's hated just to spite you.
It's one of the best in the series and everyone hates it just because of you.
It doe's have a pretty big market place, maybe they trade with revenue from that?
But he's doing down their to avoid people, he could sneak out and kill one for himself or some shit though.
have sex
You sincerely believe that? That's embarrassing.
that's a pretty petty reason to hate a good game, desu senpai
People gave genuine responses then OP "NUH UH, THAT DOESN'T COUNT" and started calling people obsidrones. See:
Post your totally original weapon of choice, I'm sure it's not one that's been posted countless of times before :^).

Oddly enough, most of the prewar food in F1 and F2 is inedible. They eat mutfruit, mutated corn and brahmin products.
I Forgot to Remember to Forget
>Chavez turns into the Undertaker
What the fuck
3 makes significantly more sense when you set it only 20 years after the bombs, when that sort of shit would still be somewhat edible and in reasonably large supply
Come on now user, Survivalist rifle is too good to say no to.
This.
But that's a vanilla quest.
If you step outside you'll find a giant rat or crab that'll feed a family for a day. The ship people live on has a hydroponics lab. Theres bars and diners. These people arent watching tv all day and remembering they're hungry, the hunt and scavenge and gather and purchase food. It blows my mind theres caravans right outside and megaton has TWO places to eat with a working plumbing system and people still see a plot hole
I'm at level 43 by now, why is nipton still burning?
Paciencia
I love weapons that tell a story through their visuals
Keep lashing out. Nothing's going to change until you calm down.
Petty or not, it's the truth.
You absolute fool, those were my posts, not OP.
I even admitted I wasn't serious in the first response, but every reply, including yours right now, completely missed it.
Laziness.
>b-but it they on
you know what I'm gonna say it... fallout 3 wasnt that bad and point outlook and the pit are good dlcs I even liked the ufo one
>Petty or not, it's the truth.
then not only am I justified in thinking New Vegas is a great game, I am also justified in thinking NV haters are just a bunch of petty faggots that let a few faggots dictate what they can or cannot like
Someguy Series

no, your opinion is bad and evil and wrong and you're a todd shill bethesdrone retard troll baiter, nothing bethesda produces is allowed to be good under any circumstances.
Fallout was suppose to become a cult classic, Bethesda fucking ruined that, NV is the best game in the history of RPGs for the sole fact that it wasn't made by Bethesda.
You're something pal.
> 4K
Why is this meme still alive
it's just asshurt obsidiots trying to act intellectually superior. they used to make the same thread every day to discuss the puddle deep "philosophy" of caesar.
"fallout 3 is bad" was a purposeful campaign of autistic ranting meant to get revenge on bethesda for "stealing" the franchise and for not giving obsidian their bonus that they didn't earn. it worked because they kept at it for long after anyone else cared about fo3 making theirs the sole voice.
todd made them do it, obviously.
that lab isn't feeding anyone, and it sounds like megaton is the only place with a decent supply of water.
so hunting is the closest you have to any food being acquired in this entire region, I guess.
>muh dunkey epic funny voice guy
>keeb sayin ib :DD
funny because even getting cucked he gets more action than all of you incels
i bet you faggots have never seen a cock in your life
why is that a problem? that is how humans got food for the majority of their existence.
based falseflagger,very epic
>It's hated just to spite you.
then you have the smallest person imaginable, devoid of character or ethos, and possibly actual friends.
there is nothing more base, vile, petty or pathetic than hating something because someone else likes it and you want to get to them.
>there is nothing more base, vile, petty or pathetic than hating something because someone else likes it and you want to get to them.
And it fucking works.
This thread is standing proof.
Obsidiots are leftover from the neckbeard age. They take online debate very seriously.
not as reliable as agriculture, especially when all the animals are bigger and deadlier, and with radiation fucking everywhere. it would make more sense of 3 took place a few decades after the war, but in 200 years you'd expect some decent infrastructure in place, otherwise everyone would just leave the area for somewhere better.
I don't understand why you guys get so defensive of 3, when even 4 decided to take the 5 minutes to properly explain food acquisition and distribution.
what about rape?
so because you don't like the explanation it can't be real? there is nothing in logic or reasoning that would refute it.
Characters literally say they regularly send out hunting parties to get that tasty mirelurk meat
I'd enjoy it more if it didn't keep crashing. New Vegas on OpenMW when?
They just whored themselves out everytime a food and water caravan went there.
whatever todd fuck you BASED Obsidian deserved that bonus

Maybe one day...
Show Cass
alright:
>if there's no farmland or plants then even the animals being hunted have nothing to eat
>eating irradiated fish and drinking irradiated water would turn everyone into ghouls
>farming plants would be more practical in having a steady supply of food at a safe distance from home
>hunting is a hell of a lot more difficult when you have lizards, scorpions, and other shit bigger than a full grown man trying to kill you
>if everyone (humans, ghouls, super mutants, and the animals themselves) are all hunters and gatherers then the wildlife would likely die off before too long
>Complete Cass' quest with the peaceful option.
>Fucking Van Graffs jump us while minding our own business in Freeside toward the end game.
>Basically forced to kill them all.
No, the base game and the DLC tell us that the Legion society is built upon coalesced savage tribes relying on raided resources instead of having a consistent method of infrastructure and agriculture. This is also stated by Legion members and former Legion members.
Same. I gave all the robots good endings but just decided to kill all the scientists ASAP.
Watkins is cute, CUTE!
Because faggots like think that it's better to follow some bullshit philosophy of "not repeating history" instead of having a sufficient government and productive society.
there are plants in the game. in real life animals eat plants that are inedible to humans then we eat them. this isn't an argument about what is more practical or efficient but what is plausible. people hunt large and dangerous animals all the time and have for hundreds of thousands of years. hunting large and dangerous animals is how people survived before the invention of farming yet amazingly the plants and animals didn't die off.
Does Cass have a reaction if earlier you let the suicide bomber get in the store?
Hi, I'm Jean Baptiste, and you're about to stop being a pain in my ass
>b-but it they on
Wanna try that one again, user?
>Surplus of WW2 uniforms just lying around
>Also lasting 300+ years into the future after a nuclear war
>And a member of the Village People
Most people think that what they try they onto so but they still when they are there.
Caravaners usually
The NCR manufacture new uniforms based on the old designs, fool.
I agree that the faggot in the bottom right is really out of place though
The NCR has actual body armor in FNV though, double fool.
Why would they base their designs on uniforms from 120 years before the bombs even dropped
it's a reference to the Springfield tire fire, you see
nexusmods.com
Why aren't you using the real pipboy mod user?
They traded with goodsprings, duh
I mean, if you got a latop you can play NV my dude. Hell even with better at a resolution, settings and textures than what you would ever get with the Switch.
Are you referencing fucking Spoiler Warning?
Its a shame it had to die because half the cast was sjw turds
there are barely any plants in the game, and humans were able to survive because both plants and animals were greatly abundant and not everything was irradiated to hell and back.
and while plausibility is definitely a layer deeper than fucking nothing, it demonstrates that not a lot of thought was put into it.
The only good thing to come out of that dumpster fire of a game.
Are you fucking referencing Spoiler Warning?
I never thought I'd see the day.
I'm just glad that NV is the best and no one else's opinion is matters.
>i don't like it they should have farms
you know where else there is barely any plants? the arctic circle. somehow people live there.
literally a trading depot down the road, nice try Todd
my god...how could I have been so blind....fallout 3 truly is a masterpiece!
you have opened my eyes, user!
nobody said it was a masterpiece, only that your meme arguments were stupid.
this looks like a cgi intro to a 2002 game.
I love it
This, I genuinely liked the redesign of the pipbboy 2000 for 76.
please educate me further, user-senpai.
What do they eat?
What mods are those?
Nah he's reference Josh Sawyer, lead dev of New Vegas.
excellent taste though my man, shame what happened to it though
they have a farm, don't they?
Didn't they have crops?
>I like it therefore it's fine
Probably any living thing they blow up.
But what was their tax policy?
What do people eat in IRL Primm?
hamburgers, obviously
sand
money from any idiot dumb enough to put money on a table
The fuck is that in the back? Solar Panels?
yea nigga, that shit is real
It's obviously the Atlantic Ocean.
Annexation is not the social contract, you mong; it's conquest.
The fuck is that rank on General Oliver? 3 bars?
>u rike gorf crub?
Food from Goodsprings? I assume they trade goods from the Mojave outpost and raw materials from Sloan.
Why would anyone willingly live there
Why would anyone willingly live at all?
To fuck bitches and get money
I don't think they do, they probably just commute over from Vegas.
They're located along a major route between New Vegas and the NCR. NPC's mention that the NCR's involvement in the region had made living there more difficult. They trade with the sharecrop farms outside of NV, although it has become more expensive. Assuming it's a major hub for trade isn't unfounded either, as it both has a courier service that is based out of the town, as well as lives along several major city's routes. Also Goodsprings is close as hell and is a major source of farming, so they probably work with them as well.
NCR is a shit faction. Only reason I ever join up with them is to become a Veteran Ranger who are the real OGs. 1st Recon is a prime example of how cucked the NCR is. One is a stuttering idiot, another got ass raped, another has daddy issues, jesus fucking christ. What a bunch of liberal faggots.
>applying gameplay logic to actual world logic
If we're doing that then they don't need to eat at all and food is just a healing item.
Those who give up freedom for security deserve neither.
People in IRL Primm aren't survivalists. Probably.
in a way we all do
THOT Patroling the wastes makes you wish for a nuclear STD
Rangers motto Against all THOT!
Why is General Oliver 12?
Even Caesar says that if the legion has any hope it needs a major reformation after a successful Nevada campaign
>Liking bald
Yeah but there were older children, implied to be young adults, with them. Even then they only survived because of Randall Clark
All snipers irl are psychological messes too
FO2 is better
t. Todd xD
originally it was supposed to be relatively soon after the apocalypse in the first place, but Bethesda wanted the BoS and Enclave return, etc.
People in the hunter/gatherer days also didn't stay in one place because if they did the local environment got depleted. Cities are a product of settled agriculture or at the very least a trade network.
This
You cant maintain a large settled city on just hunting
Hunter gatherer societies were always small scale and hyper mobile
It is better, its the best game in the series
Weapons grade autism right here
>hunting parties bring in rad stag and brahmin meat
>search parties discover food stashes
>soldiers kill bandits, caesars legion, brotherhood, etc steal their food
This isnt hard.
for 200 years.
in the same place.
oh right, re-spawning loot is lore canon.
>Rivet City
>Caesar's Legion
?
The alien abduction DLC was best. Prove me wrong.
what have they done to the NCR? Jesus christ
Laundry.
It was fun but definitely the weakest one
CL was everyone, they just didnt establish a dominant presence other than the Mojave.
*everywhere
Weak how? It was the ONLY thing in all FO3/NV/4 to explain the ET presence in all games.
user, CL started in the midwest and marched west, not east.
Okay well I choose to believe CL also sent people East. I know their destination was Colorado, but it makes sense lore wise that they spread everywhere, I mean their doctrine is enslavement or conscription of ALL humans.
>water is irradiated and you need to fix that fucking purifier
Yet there are literally two fucking people suffering from thirst in the entire fucking wasteland, and they're both sitting right outside two cities full of seemingly hydrated people. Fuck, Megaton even has its own fucking water purifier. Places as remote as the Republic of Dave aren't even established to have problems with drinking water.
Because realistically you can make a water filter with a bucket of dirt. You don't need anything fancy, the whole water filter deal was retarded from the start. Hell the river is running water, it shouldn't even be seriously irradiated. It'd be the least radioactive thing in the wasteland realistically speaking.
>We just never get to see the nation state behind the legion
Curse that fucking 18 month dev period.
ETs didn't need to be explained, they were better as a fun easter egg
>it just works
I went through here. It was pretty fun shitposting about Primm and New Vegas.
>Post apocalyptic world
>Somehow everyone can speak almost perfect english including the fucking raiders
Fucking how?
there's literally a bunch of savages in Honest Hearts that don't speak proper English, tho
I always imagined that Malcolm had cut content with him getting increasingly aggressive towards you and there is a final confrontation at the sarsparilla plant with the guy with Pew Pew alive and tells you about the story of a guy who appears out of nowhere and tells you about the star caps, then malcolm appears from behind and attacks the both of you
It's a reference to nuclear bombs ahahahahahaha aren't Bethesda clever
Fallout 4 was better than Fallout 3 as far as Bethout goes
>that ambush RIGHT out of Nipton
You are fucking retarded user. They would go there if they could but they couldn't. And who would want the hellhole that is the east coast ?
legumes
Most people that rebuilt anything was from the Vaults. Tribals are portrayed speaking broken and degenerated English. Most of those tribals got conquered by proper civilizations.
Why does the capital wasteland make me feel like the bombs were dropped mere decades prior? why is everything so fucked up compared to new vegas or fallout 4?
>No option to shove the Lucky lighter up Benny's asshole
I'm surprised no modders has added that option.
That one was the worst one. It got tiring after about 15 minutes of the same shit over and over again.
The real trick is to support the NCR and then pull the rug out from under them by supporting Caesar.
Not him, and for the record I hate F3, but I don't think that's true, Tim. You are correct that the river would still be flowing, but that water still has to flow through the irradiated crust of the earth to get there. I don't know enough about radiation to know for sure how badly irradiated land would be following a global nuclear apocalypse but I would imagine it would still linger for a bit near bodies of water. Both the ground and the water would become irradiated from nuclear fallout and other radioactive debris, and it would basically just create an equilibrium of radiation. The irradiated water soaks into the already irradiated ground, and the already irradiated water picks up some of the irradiated soil and carries it further up-stream.
I have no doubt that, eventually, it would stabilize and return to normal as more and more irradiated soil is eroded and eventually deposited at the terminus of the river, but I have a feeling that would take a very long time because erosion itself is a very lengthy process.
I'm not sure if the earth's natural water table would even be able to filter the irradiated water, because I have a feeling it would just become contaminated due to the aforementioned irradiated bodies of water soaking into the ground and mixing with the natural ground water.
>bombs were dropped mere decades prior?
dude madmax, lmao!
Beth writers can't into consistent world building .
>get bucket of dirt
>dirt and bucket are irradiated too
whoop dee doo.
Even the oceans are irradiated.
>tfw playing FO2
>went to Vault 15 probably a bit too eary
>thought i was being sneaky getting in without a fight
>HUGE showdown in the basement, just barely scrape by with my followers alive after draining all my consumables (H2H build, dick-punching and eye gouging everyone)
>realize i now have to fight my way out
Fuck me this is impossible
Might honestly have to restart since stupid me only had one save
On the plus side this has been the most intense battle in a game I've had in a long time, I've pulled out every trick and cheese to make it this far
Any radioactive dust along the riverbed would have long ago flowed out to sea
Wealthy people from an actual civilization going to another civilized city like New Vegas to visit and gamble is very different from random chumps from the hellhole Capital Wasteland venturing to some settlement to see the giant bomb they have in the middle of it.
and the radioactive dirt on land would go the river.
Its part of the water cycle now.
All that would do is make the land no longer radioactive
Alpha and beta radiation is not a threat even a few weeks after a bomb blast, let alone after 200 years
everything is irradiated.
You don't seem to realize that this argument would simply mean everything is irradiated more. That is, the food, soil, and everything else you could possibly interact with should be more dangerous than the water. If the water, which is going to be the least radioactive material around, is too radioactive to drink, then the whole zone is literally unlivable. Yet obviously that's not the case.
You don't need school to pass on a language to your children you retard
Todd, you are reaching really new lows of faggotry. Your games fucking SUCK and were besed by one buggy as fuck release from a developer that can't do shit now. You're an embarrassment
The earth is already super radioactive and basic solar UV radiation is way more dangerous than anything ever created by human action barring standing right dead centre at Chernobyl or something
Radiation is literally nbd and biological organism are already well adapted to deal with it
Everything is already irradiated
Im getting more radiation right now sitting under the hot equatorial sun than the average citizen of Megaton would get
Shh, don't tell them about the background radiation bro
