Finally finished it after all these years.
Tremere or bust.
Finally finished it after all these years.
Tremere or bust.
Ventrue chads, RISE UP
Is this high enough?
I wish we had gotten to see a bit more of Ventrue politics in general. The first half of the game is really solid in terms of giving both sides a sense of depth in regard to their take on enforced legal structure vs. anarchic freedom, but it all kind of boils down to your take on Lacroix's ambition in the end.
Why do these cringelords exists? I killed them all.
Toreador is my favorite clan
AHEM
Nines was a cool guy, he just didn't seem to have any real long term goal or realistic head for politics.
based
tremerechads always win baby don't fucking mention crusaders I swear to god I'll blood boil your asses
I wonder if Nosferatu in the sequel will be smart enough to simply have the option to wear a hoodie.
you know... I'd fuck this
I mean it would be smart to let them walk around with their hood on and then have only problems engaging with kine and kindred when talking to them directly
Malks
>Best looking model
>best looking outfits
>best dialogues
>best ending
Tremere were cool but I was super bitter when Strauss wouldn't give me my house just because I accepted a quest from the Anarchs before I even knew where he lived.
>best ending
>implying
Is Nosferatu hard mode? After all these threads I've just done a clean install and I'm poised, ready to ram it in
I would have been all for backing Therese and Jeanette for another Camarilla ending choice.
>but
>implying dancing werewolf isn't a best ending
It's stealth mode.
Sewers mode.
Y'know, for an insane Malkavian guy, he sure dresses the most appropriately for all the sewer trudging you do in the game.
What's the most challenging way to play Bloodlines?
this mechanic was so overblown in bloodlines and I hope they actually make it work in the new one. they made it seem like showing your face would result in everyone attacking you but nosferatu is basically the same as any other playthrough with a few disgusted reactions in the dialog.
it's boring, VTMB is all about the social game
Diplomatic Ventrue
>plus patch
>level up dominate
>1 dialog option click to win every single quest
nah
no. see the whole idea that you have to spend the entire game in stealth and travel via the sewers is massively overstated.
>Tremere
meh, still better than those torefags
ISOLATED
>go to sewers
That doesn't work for a lot of them, and the ones it does aren't particularly challenging anyway. VtMB isn't hard as long as you build any character properly though.
>you are now aware that there is a chance, however small it is that VTMB2 features dancing and flossing is quite a popular move nowadays
Do you actually gain humanity by dancing, or is that just a meme?
it's real but you have to dance for 5 to 10 minutes
>That doesn't work for a lot of them
a few points to str and melee will handle the rest
the ending was disappointing, or is it just me?
which one?
I had a weird dream last night where I was envisioning a quest in VTMB2 that involved Phoenix Jones, the Seattle 'superhero' that was going around and fighting drunk people for a while there and vampires. Idk if he's still active.
all were pretty bland imo, whole story has been building up the notion of jyhad and very powerful vampire controlling neo nates but in the end you kill all of them pretty easily, and the sarcophogus was a nice twist but not very satisfying
>you kill all of them pretty easily
A shit tier Ventrue and Ming Xiao (who was cathayan, so it shouldn't be hard for vampire)
eh i liked all endings except the kuei jin one, tho i dont think you are supposed to like it anyway haha
>VTMB is all about the social game
for the first half maybe, after that you're fucked if you didnt spec for combat
SL was an elder right? they're supposed to be pretty strong i reckon
I get the vibe that Toreadors are high off their own musk, but I like that there was at least one character who seemed emotionally invested in avoiding the loss of human life beyond the desire to protect the Masquerade.
Ventrue is the only truth
VTM:B is the definition of an overrated, buggy ass game with the content as deep as a kiddy pool.
I still had fun with it though.
after that the game drops in quality
>SL was an elder right?
Because..? He was just an 200 yo and probably put all his points in Dominance and shiet.
Seriously, all his power in LA holds on Ventrue clan (money, connections etc) and Sheriff
The Ming fight is a joke but the Sheriff is an annoying cunt that kept teleporting behind me and trying to limit break my ass with his buster sword
Looking at this sword, I really think his boss-fight was just big reference to FF and first Blade
>implying
She was just manipulating you man, she didn't give a single solitary fuck about human life- she just didn't want to get her hands dirty or to lose the patrons of her club. You can even call her out on it if you have high insight iirc
maybe you're right, still for me it was anticlimactic as i was playing the game thinking about how puny i am compared to all the big fish
>I get the vibe that Toreadors are high off their own musk
>the vibe
Its just a fact, you're character outright says it if you choose the right options when talking to VV
I still appreciate what we got, but I think if development hadn't been so buggered they would have probably been able to do more with the different characters and factions to flesh out the final outcomes more.
More politics and choice-based relationships, and less overtly long action segments.
>insight
you playing the Bloodborne mod?
i am not referring to the actual difficulty, but more so to the fact you as a neonate just curb stomp them all. the sabbat dude said there was something special with your blood but they never explain it
Nosferwaifu
someone wasnt paying attention
I think it's clear that she's not above manipulating you with sweet talk to do her dirty work for her, but she still goes out of her way to make a point of keeping innocents out of the line of fire.
I feel like plenty of other quest givers would just have that writer killed and be done with it.
I think his implication was that you had some direct blood tie to whoever is in the sarcophagus and they were manipulating your sire in part to embrace you and using you to get the sarcophagus open. Also possibly Caine was influencing you as well given some of the shit he says in the cab
ONE FUCKING YEAR PREORDER
That's a substantial amount of time even for someone with eternal life. Jesus Fucking Christ Paradox.
this shit is industry standard these days
Honestly Im most amazed by the fact that Paradox says theyll make additional clans free rather than milking every cent possible out of us
What do you guys think kills shit fastest,
Thaumturgy Tremere, Celerity Gun Toreador or Animalism/Protean Gangrel
>pre-release ordering
>2011+8
How about they just finish the game properly and have it all available at once in one go? I can't stand these stupid practices. There's no need for it.
Fact, Bloodlines is actually pretty shallow as far as being able to do anything else other than pointless side quests that have you retrace your steps and main story.
the one you have most fun with
>couldn't send in sheriff to kill the sabbat and ming to skip the absolute worst levels in the game because he had to guard the sarcophogus
>couldn't even fucking do that
Name a more useless bodyguard
I think my biggest complaint was that, outside of the Strauss ending, there was no option to simply keep the key for yourself and leave the sarcophagus alone in the end.
I didn't want anyone to open the sarcophagus period. But I was forced into either letting the prince have it, or to open it myself. It's a fun twist and all, but I got fucking wrecked on my first playthrough because I didn't want to casually give away the key and risk Lacroix either gaining supreme power or unleashing the apocalypse.
Worst in combat though
real time or actual seconds playing? Anyone withe celerity at a high enough level is technically killing things the fastest but nothing clears a room quite as easily as blood boil
>There's no need for FLC
I was thinking bosses
at that point youre an anime protagonist so it shouldnt matter to you
>teleports behind you
>celerity teleports you behind him
>N-NANI
I want to mate press that Nosferatu while holding our hands in each other's.
Or they could just finally implement Obfuscate that lets you use Mask of a Thousand Faces.
The only choice that I was 100% certain with on my first run was not trusting Ming Xiao.
Most of the characters you meet are Machiavellian assholes, but at least they try to be subtle about it.
How the fuck can it be overrated, no one says it's a polished game, it's just a cult classic among a lot of people
I got 3 XP for saving Jeanette the other day, I thought it was just for saving both of them?
>level 3 dementation instantly kills humans
>auspex to buff already strong guns vs supernaturals
>obfuscate if you want to go invisible
>worst
Max Potence/melee Nosferatu spamming Burrowing Beetle. If you have the blood packs to keep up the spam.
then probably celerity for teleporting bosses and Gangrel for stationary ones
You like little baby. Watch this!
>Hysteria and mele bosses to death
Just because it's worst doesen't mean it's bad, there's no way it's gonna beat celerity from Brujah and Toreador, Thaumaturgy will be better for combat, so will animalism for Gangrel and Nosferatu plus Gangrel gets protean, and dementation is just a reskinned dominate, it will probably do more damage than ventrue but ventrue is better for fighting since their level 5 dominate is better than lvl 5 dementation and they are much more tanky
Wouln't Gangrel be better since they have animalism also and will probably do more melee damage than nosferatu due to Protean?
Was it ever confirmed who started the fire at the tram station?
Jack claims that Lacroix was just tying up loose ends, but I had assumed that it was Ming and the Kuei-jin sabotaging your chance at making an alliance.
Protean fucks up the unarmed animation and makes a lot of hits miss
Do you guys think we will be able to play as some clan in DLC of vtmb 2 that was not playable in the first game?
the sabbat. lacroix tipped them off you were there
Never done Gangrel but that sucks, turning into that werewolfbat is the biggest appeal of it
>haha, there's nothing in the coffin and it was just a myth xD
>haha, the taxi driver ISN'T actually caine
These two were literally the only things keeping me going in this game, the chance of seeing something interest. Why the fuck did developers throw them out the window?
Nope?
It's not entirely useless, you'll still do a ton of damage per hit with maxed Protean and Unarmed, I just think Nosferatu might outdamage them in a longer fight.
The Baali will be available. Screencap this, print it, lick it, and stick it on your fridge.
>haha, the taxi driver ISN'T actually caine
what do you mean he isn't?
The devs didn't retcon Caine being the driver, separate writers at White Wolf did. It was a stupid decision.
So why the heck did Becket change his mind about the sarcophagus so suddenly?
Did the cabbie text message him?
ok so it doesn't matter then
only the game matters
White wolf is notorious for using Caine very sparingly
Notice how he comes running from the Anarch's bar direction, my guess is that Jack or some other Anarch tipped him off since he is an independent Vampire
He tells you why. He realized the city was at the breaking point already and everything should be done to minimize making it worse, even if he didn't particularly believe any of the sarcophagus rumors.
Its fun if you're the kind of player who likes stealth kills and shooting up whose left.
dementation might not be as cool as thaumaturgy outside of dialogue but has the same kind of abilities but more applicable in stealth. Never had to used blood packs until the very end because obfuscate and veil/voice made it piss easy to feed. Gives enough blood for mass hallucination and berserk when stealth got boring too.
>White wolf is notorious for using Caine very sparingly
It wasn't thrown in your face that he's Caine. Most people probably wouldn't know if someone didn't tell them. And they only retconned it because they wanted him to be somewhere else at the time, not because of how he was used.
Will we see him and Chunk in the sequel?
I loved this dude, scared the crap out of me. He's a nice reminder that you don't only deal with vampires in the world of darkness, hope there's more of that kind of shit in the sequel.
Aren't they kinda overrated? There are some dialogue that Malkavians that didn't feel like there was put a lot of effort into it, you often don't hear the voices since they happen while talking to someone else, and dementation is just a reskin of dominate, except it's level 5 is worse, also how come you talk like a super cool dude but every malkavian you encounter just talk normally
Which do you guys like to go for
Jeanette, Therese or Tourette?
they all get my pp hard but only jeanette touches it
What the fuck was he, an ancient Chinese demon?
>Tourette
The other choices feel wrong when you know you can save them both
I think he's the most likely side-quest character to randomly pop up again.
He doesn't need any context or explanation. Just a creepy request or two.
>Anarchs loosing California to cathayans
>meanwhile in India
some kind of mage that is forced to be an asshole when he awakens
Nephandi, a group of mages focused on destroying the world. Low-tier Nephandi though.
desu all choices feel kinda shit, if you go back to talk to them after saving both they are still in a shitty state
>playing on easy mode
>India
>Tzimisce
Did you post the wrong picture, user? Because it's the Ravnos fighting the asurazitayya.
>Tzimisce
>India
Tzimisce are slavshits to the core, user
It's uncertain, but he's named after Ox-Head, a demonic figure in Chinese mythology.
I was happy I helped them both on my first run. I don't think that the truth of their origins was confirmed either way, but I assumed that Jeanette was basically a tragic childhood trauma immortalized through Therese's condition, but that she's been around long enough that they both deserve the chance to live and make peace.
> I don't think that the truth of their origins was confirmed either way
Yeah, they didn't keep the mystery about it in V5. Apparently, she was embraced by a Malkavian with multiple personalities and passed that shit onto her.
Wrong oldest Tzimisce and Ventrue (4th generation) live in India.
Also, almost all major clans live in India and were involved into Indian conflict
If Chunk survived dealing with as many vampires as he did then the dude deserves peaceful retirement.
The Hengeyokai should've had tentacles.
No one knows for sure.
>they are still in a shitty state
They're happy and getting along though
Source for that claim? Not that I'm not inclined to believe it, but I'd just like to see it backed by citation from one of the books.
>Pajeet wewuzzing even in a vampire fantasy RPG
>Source for that claim?
If I find it on my notebook I'll post it
How come you can only fuck 1 character in this game
Shai-Hulud
Ah, I think I prefer to keep on leaving the specifics as a mystery.
>letting a crazy Malk bitch have even more power
What the fuck is wrong with you, pal?
Strauss is the only good ending in the game.
why not both? They were cooperating after all.
>those 2 or 3 conversations as a malk where you have to seem not crazy just for a minute to complete the quest but the dialogue choice is a minefield
Not by the end they weren't.
He turned into his beast mode, took a deep sniff and smelled gunpowder, treason and plot
Seems like anything they try to do with VtMB makes it worse in that regard. I hope the sequel avoids trying to do too much with the original.
Until then they were.
Just because both want to see you and Nines burn, doesn't mean they have each other in mind.
Chances are that if they both weren't allied there would be no fire, because their arsonist teams killed each other.
hard to get a boner with no blood
I liked Strauss but he didn't have a lot of time to shine outside of his cool house and cool introduction. I found Therese/Jeanette more entertaining.
Not to mention that both sides of her personality have contrasting and legitimate strengths in regards to the connections they keep, as long as they stop sabotaging each other.
>tells me to put a locket in someone's locker
>magic locket my ass, it was just to provoke someone to react by going through his personal stuff
>asshole deserved to die but I am no one's bitch
>dement the fuck outta him
>go back to that grandpa and tell him that his target is still alive despite his magic locket
>yeah who's looking stupid now, old fart.
>thought you were on top of me, did ya?
>You got Malk'd! You may be some ancient creepy horrifying being, but even ancient creepy horrifying beings have to accept defeat sometimes.
Strauss is a fucking Tremere
Jack said to never trust someone who has an X in his name.
He didn't meant Ming Xiao and LaCroix, but Max Strauss as well.
If only they had more time, that Chantry would've been a proper dungeon just like in Redemption
Joke's on you, faggot, I'm Tremere as well.
That's anarchs in general, though. Like, yeah, they got a point about elders being dicks but Kindred will always play politics and the Camarilla keeps it from spilling out most of the time.
When the Anarchs gain power it devolves into petty power plays and gang warfare. Then got their asses handed to them by the Kuei-jin.
You know, with all the horrible human kidnapping and experimentation that Grout had going on, I'm kind of surprised that no one targeted him sooner.
You'd think that the Camarilla would tell him to tone it down.
Shai-Hulud
That's why I have a hard time believing Grout was the one sending you emails. He just wouldn't care about the player's safety. Along with him only using older technology.
I'm 100% sure there were supposed to be others but it was cut, feels weird having Jeanette be the only one
Isaac did and he build Hollywood.
Nines' problem is he refuses to do real politics. And assuming you join him, he probably doesn't need to.
He is right about the Camarilla. It's gofers gofing gofers. Seb's frustration stems from the fact that despite being loyal, he was assigned to run LA.
Redemption showed you quite well how frustrating it is to be stuck in a sire-child power structure and doing tasks you have absolutely no say so. Seb may have even done you a favour by getting rid of your Sire.
Fuck fags who try to play le epic sexy Malk, Malkavians are nuts and not Joker/Harley Quinn tier cringe.
LaCroix cares not for the actual code of the Camarilla, he merely uses it as a means to an end.
I like that the different clans have different outfits, but I kind of hope that there's more customization in the sequel.
Let me keep the Dr. Seuss pimp hat for special occasions.
I think it's a combination of wanting vamps to seem more emotionally distant with having that obligatory physical disconnect with people as opposed to all being stereotypical Casanovas, and the simple fear of the complaints that devs would get for having too much sexual content.
People are quicker to get pissed over the option to have sex in games than they are about the player having the option to eat people.
you mean canon mode?
Is this pic a reference to something?
Isaac seems much more level-headed, but I never got a concrete idea for how the Anarchs would enforce basic Masquerade rules. Like population control, general secrecy, making too many ghouls, etc.
They still respond to problems like the plague bearer, but Jack seems to imply that most of them just want to use common sense in a live-and-let-live fashion.
>You know, with all the horrible human kidnapping and experimentation that Grout had going on, I'm kind of surprised that no one targeted him sooner.
Have you any idea how many homeless people there are in the US? Who the fuck would notice or even begin to care?
I think it's just fanart of the Tremere PC studying the Malks.
I don't think so, there's no graffiti on the buildings near The Asylum like that.
The Anarch Free State exists since the 40ies.
Enforcing the Masquerade was never a problem with the Anarchs.
>don't the kine see you nossie
>stick to sewers
>later realise you get a violation only if you get in people's face
But who's making and enforcing the rules in the areas where no one wants to step up and be the person or council in charge? Is it always just a unified group effort?
What's even there to level up? I get by just fine
the shit they're scrawling on the walls seemed to be so designed I figured it must be based on something
The wait is killing me
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Animalism mang
I can hear the music.
The sequel better have dancing in it or thousands will riot.
The Baron
Believe it or not but they also have hierarchy, just not as strict as the Camarilla.
Go to Hollywood and don't go to Isaac and you will get pestered by a Vampire to pay Isaac a visit. Constantly. He will not use violence, but he will bugger you.
If you want a negative example of Anarch rulership, look up Therese, who as a Baron of Santa Monica let it run down to the ground. She basically lords over 3 vampires of which two of them is she herself and is so fucking irrelevant that when she defects to the Camarilla (assuming you sided with her) the LA Anarchs didn't even attempted to reconquer it. They probably didn't even knew it was their turf.
Isaac on the other hand ruled Hollywood since it became a Free State and considering how big the influence of Vampires is in this world, he basically build up the movie industry and produced every movie there is. He is literally the Hollywood (((Jew)))
>double dragon refugees
Is there any lore or stories worth looking into beyond what's in the game?
>elephant man finds camaraderie with dancing patrons
I find this weirdly endearing.
That shit caught me off guard lmao double dragon being brought up was the last thing I expected in this game
This is my full understanding of what dancing in a club is actually like.
The other game, Redemption
Apparently there is going to be a Werewolf: the Apocalypse game released in the same year as VTMB2 iirc
Can I get the source for this webm? Is she being ironic?
Not really to both of your questions. youtube.com
>They decided t make a game about Werewolves
>Not the philosophical knife fighting that was Mage
Though considering what sort of people are working on this game now, they probably consider the Technocracy toxic masculinity, as they give them a wide berth, focusing instead on bullshit like Deviant. And not only did they not learn from their mistakes, all mistakes made in Deviant were also applied on the new version of Vampires.
Redpill me on Mages in WoD, mate.
And Beast. I literally repressed my memory about the shitfest that was Beast: The Primordial
>Somehow haven't spoiled the ending for this
>Have owned it on Steam for years, but never finished it because I used cheats for literally no reason after the 2nd hub and made the game boring as fuck. Did the same thing with the original Deus Ex and did't replay it until years later.
I need motivation to play this bros, I just got done with midterms and I have a lot of free time this weekend. It's either this or leveling on a private vanilla WoW server in anticipation for classic. What do?
theres a guy playing MK in the very first mission
>Jack said to never trust someone who has an X in his name.
>He didn't meant Ming Xiao and LaCroix, but Max Strauss as well.
HOLY FUCK 5 FUCKING PLAYTHROUGHS THROUGH ALL ENDINGS AND I NEVER NOTICED THAT JACK WARNED YOU ABOUT MORE THAN LACROIX
am I retarded?
You're fighting a war you already lost.
Player characters in this game come from a variety of backgrounds, both mortal and immortal and are unified by the fact that they all practice magic of one form or another. Magic is defined by the game as a force that can shape reality with the willpower, belief or special magical techniques of the user. Had a pretty sweet metaplot/setting, but was hamstrung by the extreme clumsiness of its mechanical system.
broken tier reality warpers at high levels, still as threatening as the average tremere at low levels
Am I the only one who couldn't finish it because the combat was trash? Same with KoTOR.
could be a reference to the girl in the books with a birthmark of a moon that's suppose to be one of the sign of Gehenna
i forget her name but Smiling Jack found her and turned her
Levelling on private servers always felt like a huge waste of time, even more then being forced to grind on official. Just play VtMB.
It was a throwaway line, albeit an hilarious one.
And it actually shows how clever this guy actually is.
>am I retarded?
No, I never realized that either since he's always called Strauss and not Max. I wonder if that was intentional. Is there anyone else with an X in their name?
...
Aw, man!
It will have something better
Has anyone managed to come up with a unified theory that connects all of the lore between all WoD game lines?
HOOOOOOOOOOLLLLYYYY FUUUCK
writers kicking my ass literally over a decade later.
somebody hold me
>knoX
Holy shit how come I didn't realise this this whole time. It's been 15 years almost, goddammit.
Da fuq? Where
no, its yomi wan
Holy shit, at this point I wouldn't really be surprised if this shit was true.
Honestly the last stretch of the game can be a bit of a slog to get through compared to the excellent Santa Monica introduction, but I think it's worth wrapping up the story and seeing what the fuss is about before the sequel comes out.
>dont trust the sigil
it's from the v5 corebook. the same edition in which bloodlines 2 takes place as they were in development alongside each other
Wait, it IS real?
I thought this guy was super annoying until I found out that he's pretty much just putting on a front to get you to let your guard down and play into Tung's plans.
I want VtMB2 NOW
I NEED IRL TORPOR MECHANICS
To be fair, aren't the game and corebook writers entirely separate?
you've got some crying to do user
hahahaha
Crying with laughter, I assume.
I feel like her face should be longer or something. Kind of reminds me of a bulldog.
sure if you never played the first one i guess
I did, beat it a few times. Playing it as we speak in fact, as a Tremere gunslinger.
I just don't expect anything from mediocre devs who cry about muh politics instead of showing actual fucking gameplay.
well have fun lil zoom
I just hope VTMB2 doesn't have one universal "good" group in the face of the one blatantly evil corporate group.
The first game was interesting because it played around with the idea of different perspectives and motivations on every side, with you dropped abruptly into the middle of it all. Some people were more genuine and well-meaning than others, but no one was exactly the bonafide hero.
In the drug house playing vidya on the tv
Youll miss it if you shut off the power
>Tremere studying the Malks
most entertaining way to kill yourself
How do you know it's Mortal Kombat? Is there a cart of it or something? Because the screen just shows one of the sewer monsters.
actually you move however you want to move
literally nobody cares how you move as long as you're not slapping all the people around you
FAT LARRY WITH A F A T
What actually baffles me is that the old guard writing these games was already as far left as they could go.
Then Paradox created a fake incident and fucking purged them, replacing them with fujoshit identity warriors.
>people unironically acting like Jack had some trenchant insight
He set all this bullshit in motion and fucked over everyone, his word on who's reliable is bullshit
That ain't Mortal Kombat, its the other Vampire game, Redemption.
doesnt he have lines bitching about shenlong or something?
He threw a steak into a cage full of nasty dogs.
Doesn't take more than that to create some fun times.
The question is: Why? What did he want?
Fat Larry responding to the Nosferatu might be my favorite line reading in the whole game.
Same as the player:
have fun
Anarchy? Why go to war with the Camarilla and Kuei-jin when you can trick them into eating each other and nuking their leaders?
>Why? What did he want?
Supposedly he hates anyone who tries to have any amount of control over him. He might just enjoy the fight.
He's playing some random fps. The pause screen when you fuck shit up in the house turns into this. It's the game's version of VtmB.
And a huge masquerade violation
That's some more plus patch unnecessary change garbage. This is what it normally is.
All the more reason not to trust him desu
And why is that?
Ctrl S for spoilers in case you don't know.
I kind of like the idea of becoming the new right-hand of the Camarilla and cementing Tremere leadership in that scenario.
Like a new sheriff. Except you actually get to do stuff beyond playing watch dog.
Fucking hell, it's been so long I can't remember the original stuff anymore. Is there any list of things the patches changed over the years?
I managed to fuck it up even using that, thanks anyways user
>latest patch
>decide to lure Patty to a dark alley
>put 12 revolver shots in her skull
>she just cowers
>press e to talk to her
>she falls over dead
>quest log doesn't update
So this is the power of Clan Ventrue.
Strauss is actually a Baali disguised as a Tremere
>source: dude trust me
>Is there any list of things the patches changed over the years?
The Unofficial Patch includes a changelog when you install it. The Tessmage.com forums also has a thread with people going through and finding all the changes. The site is NSFW and some of the people are a little autistic but it's good if you just want to see the changes. Might not be up to date anymore though.
>The site is NSFW and some of the people are a little autistic
you do realize what site you are on right now, yes?
Yes but blue boards are supposed to be SFW and the autism from here just seems normal now.
Hm, but Therese talks about how she only had Jeanette growing up as a kid due to her father not letting them out/being controlling. This is more my opinion but I feel like Therese is the "original" personality. She was a girl being sexually abused by her father, and maybe made up an imaginary friend (Jeanette) who was more playful and bubbly to help with her loneliness. It kind of fits, there's many cases of people who were sexually abused as kids becoming sexually promiscuous when they get older. So maybe Jeanette is kinda like all her repressed feelings. It makes sense since in your final confrontation with her, Jeanette is the one trying to tell you what happened to her father and what he did to her, while Therese is trying to get jer to shut up. Maybe after she got embraced by a Malk, Jeanette fully developed into an actual split personality.
But then again I haven't finished reading LA by Night or much of the new stuff, that was just always my theory.
I played Tremere for their sick threads, not gonna lie.
>Therese is the "original" personality.
She is. And she blamed "Jeanette" for when she would act out because she didn't want to be bad.
fair enough. and thanks for the link, vampire lewds and lore galore, must check out
Did someone say Tremere?
Tremere "studying" ain't as harmless as it is depicted here.
Each spell has thousands of victims behind this.
the only worthwhile playthroughs are Tremere and Malk, convince me otherwise
I kind of hope that the sequel has smart phones so I don't have to crawl back to my apartment to log into my shitty computer to check my email.
Holy shit the amount of changes. I installed the patched game back in 2014 and the changes are pretty much ingrained in my memories now, I'll need to keep a separate install of the vanilla game. Much appreciated user.
I quit the plus patch, when Wesp started including himself in the game. Like that cop in the tutorial.
ffs why does he feel the need to change everything? Just fix the game, it's not like they gonna hire him for BL2 or something.
I hope the computer has more options than to just check your email.
Really appreciate people still doing all this patch work. Still ran into a few bugs on my run though.
My favorite was when the sky turned into a giant mattress. And regular mattresses floated around all the streets like an Alice Madness Returns platforming section. Wish that I had taken a screenshot.
I loved going back home in vtmb
more games should give me a reason to go back and feel like I actually live at my place
The sexy posters Garry supplied you with sure helped.
Too sad, it was the only customisation you could do and too sad they won't be available in 2 because patriarchy, even if it's lesbian patriarchy.
>Break masquerade
>Start getting creepy calls and hunter selfies
I had one where the pole cables in santa monica stuttered around for some reason, might've been some malk only event crossing over glitch.
I hope we can have another ghoul roommate and/or love interest.
I liked playing the whole relationship with Heather as super awkward, with the kindred just trying to figure out the most reasonable thing to do while she's in the background straight up kidnapping someone for you to eat without your go-ahead.
>pole cables in santa monica stuttered around for some reason
Yeah I almost think that's a Malkavian event.
I don't think we're getting a ghoul this time around. Shame really.
Andrei would call you all the time to talk shit and threaten certain doom, putting his hands over the microphone to try to hide his giggling.
Bring back the Deb of Night radio show.
I wouldn't say it's impossible, but I would guess that in the modern climate that they wouldn't want it to be quite as, creepy?
Not that I'd complain about having a ghoul with more story potential than a role of doing nothing but hanging out in your apartment all day waiting for you like a love-struck crack addict.
We’ll be playing as a thinblood in the new game, it’s likely our blood won’t be potent enough to create a ghoul.
Wasn't the rumor that you only start as a thinblood and somehow rise up to pick a clan later on?
>ffs why does he feel the need to change everything?
I think he claimed to be "continuing the dev's true vision" so he probably has a bit of an ego and feels like he's the reason VtMB is so great
you're obviously going to be a fully blooded later on, thinblood is only an early game thing
>cop
got the plus patch, the heck are you talking about?
In his defense he did fix the game on his own time. I don't see any reason to get upset over details in the Plus Patch as long as it's kept separate from the regular patch.
the police officer in the tutorial section in the basement of the warehouse after you split from Jack. The audio quality on his lines is notably worse than everything else
I don't know how they'll justify it story-wise, but I kind of like the idea of playing through the tutorial as a random schmuck who meets up with some of the different clan members before deciding which of them the player is going to sign up with.
>I don't see any reason to get upset over details in the Plus Patch as long as it's kept separate from the regular patch.
The basic patch still makes unnecessary changes too and you have to fight him to get it removed
had to find a video cause I am too lazy to start a new game.
yeah who gives a shit it is just another tutorial section to show you how the social skills would look like later, not like he added himself wearing a cape banging Tourette behind a dumpster.
The developers have said themselves that you will be able to “join” a clan later in the game. I’m skeptical as to how they will justify this without Caine shenanagins. The only way to lower your generation is through diablerie, which is a heineous crime literally everywhere except the Sabbat.
To add to this: I’m actually upset that they will have you join a clan. Thinbloods get cool powers in V5 and I would enjoy playing an underdog.
>I’m skeptical as to how they will justify this without Caine shenanagins
Find the mastermind behind the terror attack, get to diablerize them as a reward, conveniently they happen to be the same clan you wanted to be
this guy gamedevs
>Thinbloods get cool powers in V5
What kind of cool powers would you get for being a thinblood?
Yeah but I think the most well known part of the first game's appeal were the differences between separate clan's abilities and characters interactions, so I doubt that they'd back out on on it.
I drank Sabbat in the first game.
I mean I’m pretty sure that’s what they are going to do: have you diablerize the guy who sired you or some similar bad guy. Thing is, diablerie is a really big deal. Not only do you have to contest with the will and soul of the guy you’re eating, (and there’s a chance they can overpower you and take your body) but you also gain a literal evil darkness aura that any vampire will get to see. Committing diablerie marks you as a cannibal for everybody to see, and it is a very very taboo thing to do in the first place. Some people cite the “Camarilla sanctioned diablerie” line in the corebook, but I see it as more of a tool the Camarilla would use to control thinbloods rather than an actual reward. It’s kept ambiguous for a reason.
The devs can handwave all that shit away though ofc, it’s just my two cents.
Thinbloods can mimic very low level disciplines from other clans, use telekinesis and transform into bats like we see in the trailer, and are more resistant to the usual vampire weaknesses (fire, sunlight, being pale and ugly).
I haven't followed the game at all but then wouldn't it be possible for them to just write in a way for you to stay as a thin blood?
theyve also said you'll be able to turn to mist
>you know... I'd fuck this
I know you wouldn't. It's only because it's "fantasy" that it appeals to you. There are real people that look like this (or worse) and if you'd see them in real live you would stay away from them as far as possible. someone post that russian guy who had plastic surgery and looks like nosferatu
That would be pretty cool actually. Being able to choose not to diablerie, I can see it as a sort of dark souls deprived mode maybe. But it will likely be integral to the story, I don't see it happening.
That too. Their "discipline" is called thinblood alchemy, it's pretty interesting.
Aren't Caitiffs able to do that?
Even Nosferatu Caitiffs aren't grotesquely disformed or something like that.
