I assumed that you would still be able to WEAR the stuff for the stats, just that they wouldn't show on your character if you're a Hrothgar or Viera. Not everyone who switches will have every job at 70, or even neccessarily be at endgame. Many will still have jobs left to level from scratch. I really hate Alphinaud's voice in Heavensward. Why did they change it? It actually ruins everything.

A decent variety of less ornate stuff would be nice. I tried to make a caster set inspired by the baggy, plain clothes a lot of the characters in Nausicaa wear, and I was a little surprised to find out that the AF1 pants were pretty much the best option for legs despite being striped. Then I picked Arachne Bolero for the chest despite not quite matching what I had in mind, along with Miqo'te Gloves and some generic boots. Honestly, the Sky Pirate's Cap of Casting is the only piece that really salvages the look.

I went back and watched a few ARR scenes with him and by god he sounds like such a self-satisfied twerp. only use fire 3 for that and when firestarter proc

It's better used as an offgcd pre-heal to deal with tank busters that'll guaranteed it to trigger, but not kill the tank once they reach an HP threshold.
