It just seems odd to me that the focus is barely on actual gameplay, and mostly on story.
Like, if this is a game pitch, who is meant to be reading this? Why would you come up with so many plot details before the game is even started, knowing that the process of production will likely cause countless plot changes since story is subservient to the needs/resources of the programmers.

Because writing an overall story for your game helps to give a better idea of what the player will be doing during the course of a playthrough, which allows you to figure out what kind of gameplay you'll need to make. When that part is figured out, you can then refine, remove or add things that don't work or you've overlooked.

That seems like backwards design. I feel that game developers should have firm concepts of gameplay design, and specifically what gameplay element makes their game unique among the masses, before trying to craft a story around them.

i kinda don't like the whole evil Berri thing, yeah Conker treated her like shit and he forgot to revive her when he could, but both still had feelings over each other (Conker still mourning over her death and having an entire shrine dedicated to Berri) and she saw how sad Conker got during her last breath.
Unless the whole cyborg enhancement made her go insane, I don't feel like it fits with what we saw in BFD.

That's my main gripe with the story, unless the cyborg shit fucked up her brain and made her go insane, Berri doesn't have a reason to kill Conker at all (which seems to be the case since the unaltered clone goes to interrupt the wedding).
She even saw how sad he got before she passed away.

If the cyborgification fucked with her at least the Berri clone would have a chance to be the normal one to Conker. Though the beginning did imply that he stood her up to drink more than once. I doubt he was perfect but going to the lengths of wanting to kill him over it of her own accord seems wrong.
Hell if they wanted to go the evil Berri route they could have just had to get impregnated by the not-Xenomorph before being tossed into space and have her give birth to the evil one. Normal Berri still alive and saved by the aliens, then evil Xeno-Berri wants to kill Conker for tossing her mom out the airlock.
