Who cares it was way more fun and cooler. I typically support higher skill options but the stingray is also a lot more annoying to play against and I liked putting it down where I though the enemy would go rather than keeping it where the enemy is.

I miss Inkstrike.

Specials are more balanced nowadays and the powers of the originals are all in there in one way or another so I don't really miss any. But I do like the that the inklings cover their ears for the launch of the inkstrike.

It's a shame the ink strike didn't come back as a stage gimmick or item. It was a very iconic part of Splatoon 1.

Damage up and defense up are garbage if you look at the detailed stats, they literally only matter for a very small number of weapons when facing a full-health enemy. Also E-Liter being nerfed made me learn the much more versatile and useful stock charger.

Plenty of weapons could hit 99.9 damage without much investment, and Ink Resist not really being used in S1 in favor of Stealth Jump meant that anyone that even looks at your ink wrong was going to die in one less shot. It was also good for burst bomb combos on the Grim Range Blaster and Custom Jet.

I hated most of 2's maps at first but they grew on me gradually. It helps that a lot of the DLC maps are a lot better than the vanilla ones. One thing I do miss about 1's maps were the longer maps. I'm glad Arrowana Mall and Camp Triggerfish are back but I miss when not every new stage was just a free-for-all. There's Shellendorf I guess. Also, I wish Hammerhead Bridge was back already. And Mahi-Mahi as well.

ranked would be more fun if it tried to filter out the shitters that infest s+ and x. the game's ranking system is just way too lenient to where it's almost impossible to derank. there are people who literally can't aim and or don't have any situational awareness that are x rank in multiple modes. it would also be more fun if matchmaking actually worked. it doesnt matter if you're an slightly above average player at 2300 or some top competitive fag from a top clan at 2800 power, you still get matched with the shitters who are barely above 2000 power every single game

Splatoon > Spla2n really was a textbook example of how game balance doesn’t necessarily make a game more fun. Spla2n is a fine sequel/enhanced port, but for all the things it did to attempt to make it more competitive, it kind of took away the insane fun shit you could do. Kraken and Bubbler were blatant “I Win” buttons, but god dammit they were really fun to activate

Saltspray and Urchin were way too easy to lock out on, and Flounder was garbage that catered to laggy close-range players.

I know I will get called a scrub for it, but I miss the Kraken Aerospray combo. I would put on my fastest gear, and fucking storm the field in turf wars, getting way far ahead of everyone else, then just covering the middle part of the map, get special, and go Kraken to kill as many of the enemy team as possible as I head down their line. It was just fun to be able to go at that speed, cover that much, and end up with a fun special, all at the same time.

I can't say I've ever had anything too unbearable. The picture captchas nowadays are far more forgiving then they used to be a few years ago. I actually kind of prefer these ones now over typing two words. Just a quick few strokes on the numpad and my captcha's ready.

I used to do that, but my tendency to name files so specifically and just the sheer amount of images I like to save made it rather impractical and a bit of a pain in the ass. I just settle for Yea Forums's numbers and my memory of when I saved something is extremely handy.

I guess so. 2000 images sounds big but Splatoon is hardly my biggest folder. Definitely the fastest growing, though. Reaction image folder is roughly 3.5k despite spending over a decade here.

I'd be down for anything that lets the ink and vertical movement of the squids take center stage. There were some decent applications in single player and the RE4 hallway in Octo Expansion was fucking amazing. Have some other sort of weapon that doesn't involve shooting all the time, expand on movement options and level design that isn't blocks floating in space. It would be paradise. Either that, or a rhythm game.

People "hate" Callie because she's an easy target or they're simply biased against her and can't let go of old grudges. Some people are going to act like cunts no matter what you do. One of the things that made me such an active supporter was back in the days you refer to, I didn't see any Callie fans. I didn't see anyone appreciating such a good squid in any sort of fashion that's appropriate to her character.
