Don't bother, the disc drives on almost all of them are fucked now, and most have leaky clock capacitors that are eating away at the motherboards

The OG xbox is one of the few consoles where the condition of the disc drive literally doesn't matter.
Just mod it and load all your "legit" backups from the hdd.

I have 2 and that's not accurate. Also mod them so you can install games via ftp instead of relying on old dvd drives. You can even put sata drives in them if you find an adapter that fits.

i remember some computers of the time had 2 disc drives though. probably 1 for cd and 1 for dvd.
