So.. Apparently Octopath Traveler, a Nintendo Exclusive is coming to Steam...
Did you guys hear about this? Thoughts?
So.. Apparently Octopath Traveler, a Nintendo Exclusive is coming to Steam...
Did you guys hear about this? Thoughts?
fokin nice mate
We knew this since yesterday.
are you retarded?
Meh. Waiting for Chocobo Dungeon
ahahahaha i dont care if im retarded im too excited
game is ok, it's nice for pc only guys but i wouldn't get excited too much.
We know, Ninten"""bros""" have been crying and seething about it all week.
we've known since last week
Cool. It's a great little game, get it PCfags.
Personally I never liked it that much, but lots of people liked the game apparently. And seeing that Square Enix has a bad relationship with Nintendo, I can see why Square doesn't care about maintaining their game's exclusivity on one console, Square Enix has always preferred working with Sony more.
Meh, played the demo. Didn't enjoy it. Hope you guys do.
I'd joke 'it sucks now' but people already realized that once the hype died down.
Very nice, wanted to pick this up.
If they work out how to emulate Mario Odyssey, I'll be done with needing a Switch
It was shit on the Switch, it will be shit on PC.
It's more the fact that exclusives are dying as a practice, unless it's a first party game, it's VERY hard that a game remains a system exclusive nowadays, it's just not convenient for anyone anymore.
What's so good about this game?
I'm glad. Switchbros are getting stuff like DQXI and PCbros are gettting other stuff like Octopath. I don't see why everyone has to make a fuss about it like it somehow devalues the game or the system.
It's Bravely Default but with more charm.
>playing *RPGs on anything but handhelds
>Another reason to regret buying my portable port machine
Same thing every JRPG that's popular with normalfags has, flashy visuals. Just look at something like Persona
One of the three Switch exclusive games I wanted to play is now on PC.
Nice.
Shame the other two (BotW and XB2) have ZERO chance of a PC port
>Octopath
>Flashy
It looks like vomit, it will look even worse on PC when people will see more clearly the horrible texturing with different resolutions for different assets, normalfags like Octopath because:
>It's a Squenix game
>Le ebin retro art
>It's a kind of spiritual successor to Bravely Default, the original retro bait
imagine playing XB2 on 4k/120fps
fug
I'm sad it will be mostly ignored by PC crowd and won't get any new attention.
I'm only mad about the sequel going mobile.
Isn't it also coming on mobile? Really isn't an exclusive
>exclusives are dying as a practice
I don't know about PC exclusivity but in home consoles I think it's still feasible for the publisher since they receive better incentives on putting their game as an exclusive.
Glad I didn't waste money on it.
Free is the best price.
Im mostly a pc player so if I knew I wouldnt have bought it on the switch. But it was a fun game. Im hoping with all the new people picking it up they can help give advice on the final boss. He has been fucking me for months.
I hope you enjoy it, yet as common knowledge has said time and time again, game's not that good! Don't go in there expecting something out of this world.
>Isn't it also coming on mobile? Really isn't an exclusive
I thought that was a prequel
Square Enix does a shitty job at porting their games. If I were you, I'd rather buy this game on PC or else you're just encouraging Square to be bunch of lazy fucks.
It is. The phone game and the console game are two different things.
In any case it's nice to see that the game is getting more exposure given how traditional rpgs don't really exist in this day and age.
This just proves that if you wait long enough, a PC user always wins.
>BotW
You got rocks in your head? Just emulate it with CEMU
God Hand is also getting released on Steam.
store.steampowered.com
Fuck you. I knew this was a lie but I checked anyway. You got me good, user. You cheeky shit.
the DQXI on switch thing is pretty funny
it was the first switch game announced
now it's years later and it doesnt even have a release date
Motherfucker
I don't know if this new Laptop can ruin CEMU well.
september...?
They're doing a real sequel that isn't phoneshit.
>exclusive comes out
IT'S SHIT
>exclusive gets ported
THANKS FOR BETA TESTING
Based.
>the DQXI on switch thing is pretty funny
>it was the first switch game announced
got proof? because the port was revealed like this year
I don't, I just pirate all the games on it now.
But I'll make an exception for Rune Factory games, I just love the series too much.
At least PC bros can look forward to Japanese games staying on Steam, instead of a Chinese Spybot. Now it just needs to come to PS4, so it will have a proper home.
I don't find it very funny. I love Dragon Quest, but I have no plans to support these backdoor shady deals.
why would they port this to PC? The literal only thing going for it is that it's the only big name JRPG on switch, but on PC it has to compete with every single other game made since 1988 (read: better games)
octopus traveller is an extremely mediocre game, in an environment with competition it's only going to flounder
How is the combat in this? Is it just your standard menu-based affair or are there more tactical options to it?
Yeah I have the game on Switch and I didn't like it.
>I think it's still feasible for the publisher since they receive better incentives on putting their game as an exclusive.
Depends, pretty much the only developers that have better incentives on that are those that are pretty much soft first parties like Vanillaware, who receive most of their funding by one of the big console names, or for a small dev who REALLY knows where their userbase is and can bet on maximize profits while minimizing effort by making an exclusive and play it safe (on the other hand they never expand their userbase with this, and most people have realized that by now).
What cements the fact that exclusives are not feasible anymore is that even with the current domination by Sony in the console market, the PS4 doesn't really have that many exclusives, and most of those don't even sell that well, there's about 100 exclusives or so and barely even 10 of those are million sellers for instance, Nintendo isn't that different, their big names are basically all first party games.
Dude, we've been playing great strategy games and CRPGs since forever, you think some shallow turn based JRPG with shit Instagram filter visuals are gonna make us interested?
Not much of an exclusive then, is it?
It's not very good desu
It's kinda like FF6 or FF9 in that you technically have jobs and class building but it's extremely limited compared to other titles.
The combat is a dumbed down version of the brave/default system (from bravely default/second) but only the player can brave and brave is just built up over time, so there's no penalty for blowing your load except that you win less fast, and if you hit an enemy's weakness multiple times you stun them for a while.
Party building would be kinda varied if you weren't forced to stick with your first pick for literally no reason and the story didn't force you to constantly swap out level 30 characters with level 5 characters and watch them die constantly.
Honestly the game feels rushed as fuck. There are a lot of good ideas but it feels like they didn't actually execute any of them. You have 8 characters and the game is story based but they barely interact like real characters would. There's a job system but it's shallow and hampered by all the other mechanics.
You do understand you seem like a literal newfag if you're trying to act as if you didn't hear or see this news being constantly posted all over Yea Forums for a few days after it was announced?
Back when it was the NX, the game was announced for PS4, 3DS and NX. It's rather funny. It's not obscure info either.
>it's the only big name JRPG on switch
No it isn't? It's a game made by a small team in S-E. That's like saying TSA directly competes with Devil May Cry V. It's ludicrous.
Game's mediocre, I'll agree to that. Has its charm, the last couple of bosses are fun, but not much else.
B-but we still have persona 5 pcobesity will never have that or XC2
NEVER
EVER
Nintendo consoles have no exclusives, all of them can be played on PC. Unlike ps4 which is the only console with exclusives.
I've heard it wasn't a very good game with plot lines that go no where, pointless characters and forgetable battles.
Literally the only reason to buy a switch for me thrown out of the window.
Who cares the game is terrible
Based
No reason to be excited unless you're pirating it.
Aside from the obvious fact that Square Enix are backstabbing bastards, is this another one of those "retro" cash-ins, like Lost Sphear?
>June
Ah fuck man that long?
Xcom 2 with the expansion was enjoyable, but those load times and certain missions took away all of that enjoyment.
I'm excited to see PC niggers suddenly like it like with every other game they call shit because it's an exclusive.
Why?
I don't own a switch but it was the only game I got excited for, from the switch
I'm a big fan of JRPG's and Aside from FF 1 - 7 ports on Steam there's not really a good JRPG on the market to play
It's much better than Lost Sphear or I am Setsuna but that says NOTHING about the game. It's not very good.
You could play Romancing SaGa 2, DQXI, which are much better games from the same company. Or get a better taste senpai, S-E are not the only ones that make JRPGs.
Enjoy! It's a good, but not perfect game. I hope they so the prequel justice, but mobile isn't inspiring. Maybe PC will add a bunch more chapters or fixes and such, and then I'd nab it there too.
>Aside from the obvious fact that Square Enix are backstabbing bastards
The game was evidently a timed exclusive, Squenix doesn't even deal with exclusives anymore, even SaGa Scarlet Grace was an exclusive on Vita for two years before they ported it to everything else, that's just how Squenix rolls.
>is this another one of those "retro" cash-ins, like Lost Sphear?
Yes.
>we have choices, so more choice is bad
Nah, more games coming to more platforms can only be a good thing
Yeah, let's just pretend the following don't exist:
>BOTW
>MK8D
>Snipperclips
>Fast RMX
>voez
>ARMS
>Kirby Star Allies
>Xenoblade Chronicles 2
>Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
>Super Mario Tennis
>Sushi Striker: Way of Sushido
>Splatoon 2
>Pokemon LGPE
>Super Mario Party
>TSA: NMH
>Yoshi Crafted World
All these exclusives easily shit on your normie garbages like CSGO, DoTA2, Fortnite, and PUBG. You PCKeks have no ground to shit talk Switch when you guys don't even has as many good exclusives as Switch.
it's good, but as usual Yea Forums likes to harp on the bad aspects of the game rather than giving attention to what it does right.

Call me when Daemon x Machina is announced for a 2020 Steam release.
I never got into Dragon's quest for whatever reason and I'm not going to play an android port
I got fucking burned on that when I played FF5 on steam
Can you give me some recommendations on JRPG's?
All my experience was with Final Fantasy and Shin meganmi tensei/Persona and they're by far my favorite series of all time.
I'm real partial to P1 as well
But I never really strayed away from those main line series until recently
I've been going through Valkyria Chronicles on Steam and i'm having a ton of fun
>It's a game made by a small team in S-E.
It's not even made by Square.
It could need it. The framerate, even in the trailers, dip below 20.
>Steam
I hope you like Epic.
> a Nintendo Exclusive is coming to Steam...
Obviously it isn't a Nintendo exclusive then retard.
>sonyfags are trying to push the betrayal narrative again
Have you ever seen anything more pathetic?
>Can you give me some recommendations on JRPG's
Pokemon is a classic.
>I'm not playing an android port
Good thing, since if I remember correctly the SaGa 2 port is from Vita.
Are you specifying JRPG as the "FF form" or are you open to dungeon crawlers and that sorta shit?
start with DQ 5 or 8 instead, those are much better games. Or with the original trilogy if you're a patient man. DQ11 is a nostalgia cash-in.
>Wii U game, playable on PC
>almost the same as the Wii U version, playable on PC
>shit game
>shit game
>shit game
>shit and dead game
>meh game
>shit and meme game
>meh game
>dead game
>shit game
>okay game
>babby first pokemon game
>meh game
>shit game
>shit game
wow, I really wonder why people say the Switch doesn't have any good game, it has... huh... wait I swear I can find at least one... huh... Mario Odyssey! That's right! I-it' will be playable on PC soon?! Wait wait wait, I can find another one, just give me time!
shame another e-celeb made a video shitting on Octopath and Yea Forums being the NPCs that they are took his words to heard despite the guy having a reputation that he hates JRPGs
this will keep you busy
Nothing. It has some shitty meme ass visuals that some people seem to like, but thas it.
Preferably in the FF form
Like your top 3
I'm fine with Dungeon Crawlers but for some reason Western one's really fuck with me
Try as I might I can never get into the isometrics of Diablo/planescape/or Pillers.
Just something about the combat system I despised and it felt disgusting to play
Whilst games like FF1 despite being more simple and repetitive I simply adore.
You got a guide for it?
>Weird Guy
>Suikoden
:(
Also, you'd do better than that since the guy seriously bought FFV for Steam instead of emulating it on GBA/SNES like a human being.
I don't really have much to recommend you since you seem to like story focused, linear games, I'd say try The Last Remnant and if you happen to enjoy it move onto the rest of the SaGa series, or start with Romancing SaGa 2, all the games are available on PC either way, either you emulate them or play the few official PC releases available.
Honestly, just fire up whatever emulator you want and dig, that's the best way to go.
>Pokemon LGPE
I wish it didn't exist.
Every character’s story arc is a generic trope and gameplay wise play out exactly the same (town/story sequence, big boss, end), the BREAK battle system is shallow and lame and most bosses have way too much hp, the graphics are ugly as shit which admittedly MAY be somewhat fixable on pc if they let you turn off the bloom and insane dof in the settings
Do you emulate/have a computer that can emulate say Wii/Gamecube?
Literally nothing. Just a nostalgia grab for retards who love MUH 80's aesthetic
Thank you for being considerate and using the spoiler tag, that's some sensitive information right there
I have the autism so if I start a game series I always go from it's first game to it's last game
I spent 4 years finishing all of FF so if I start Dragon's Quest it's going to be another 4 years I think
The soundtrack above everything else. That is what's good. Legit 9/10 OST.
I also got half the achievements
I really like FF5~
y e
I play almost all my games on Emu unless there's something that I really like at which point I'll shill out my dollary doo's
Gimme your best
Buttz
Splatoon for PC when?
This is why I pirate and never buy console based games
Everything is tiring
Unironically if splatoon came out on pc and was free it would probably be as big as fucknite
It's very bare bones, the battle system gets old very quickly. While some of the characters have good arcs, none of them interact or intervene with each other in their stories, save for a tacked on at the last minute party talk system that comes up randomly. The game treats each character like the other party members aren't there.
It's visually appealing but that's it. If you were expecting FF6 level of storytelling get ready to be disappointed.
I'll be taking that.
well if you have a 3DS since you've played SMT, play the Etrian Odyssey games maybe? Starting with 3 they let you mix and match class abilities in creative ways.
The fourth game is particularly beginner friendly and has a trial version.
Enjoy, PCbros.
Keep crying, Snoys.
>Splatoon wining over Fortnite
I will watch that
>square has a bad relationship with Nintendo
Since when? Are you faggots still going on about the past? Did something recently happen? Did Nintendo cheat on square and square is trying to file devorce papers while keeping the kids?
Jesus christ, all right. As a starter, you ought to play Baten Kaitos (two games, Gamecube, card based, made by the guys at Monolith soft),
Romancing Saga 2 (the port looks good, Steam),
Metal Max (scrape whatever's translated, good shit),
Live a Live (SNES),
Tales of Vesperia/Symphonia are fine and are on PC if I remember correctly,
Chrono Trigger on SNES/DS and Chrono Cross on PS1 if you haven't played already,
Suikoden on PS1/PS2, 5 games,
Tactics Ogre/FFTactics on PS1/DS/GBA, since you like FF5,
Skies of Arcadia Legends for GC...
That should keep you busy.
Looks fun
I'll play anything made by Atlus
thanks for the recommendation user
Bad games
If you like FFV or Bravely Default you'll love this. Great mechanics with their job system, fantastic pixel art, and a great sound track.
The weakness is the story. Being chopped up into 8 different 4 part stories hurts delivery. Especially since you aren't going to play through all four parts of one story. Some stories are weak others are fantastic.
It will scratch that classic JRPG itch.
>Shitting on Atelier
Or is it actually a compliment?
Wild Arms.
Skies of Arcadia is the best JRPG ever made.
I mean, I know I can run it on dolphin... But I would pay good money for this if it didn't come with denuvo.
OH NO NO NO NO NOOO
>none of them interact or intervene with each other in their stories
That's because it's eight separate stories. You people tend to call things bad when you don't get the point do you.
Lunar and Shining Force under weird. Won't comment other games, the one who made this is clearly fucked up in his head. I bought it, too, while it was on sale. And C Trigger.
They don't have any bad relations since old man Yama left.
Baten Kaitos looks pretty interesting
I'm really not sure about Romancing Saga but since someone else mentioned it before I'll take a look
Metal Max looks cool as heck I'm for sure going to play that
I never played Tales games but since I have nothing else I'll keep it in my back pocket to start
I've watched enough Chrono trigger from TBFP that I already got most of what I need from it
Suikoden looks weird but I'll keep it in mind
Tactics ogre and FF tactics are my 2 favorites by far. Strategy RPG's are the greatest.
But once I beat Sengoku Rance I don't think I can ever scratch that itch again
I've heard about Skies of Arcadia but to tell you the truth I really dislike the 3d polygon shit.
It's why I'm not that big of a fan of FF7
Thanks for the list though.
I have it written down
I plan to.
you're beyond salvation if you like it, so it's accurate.
>Dangerous Otaku
.//hack is too good for peasants anyway
>So..
I want reddit to leave
Smash Bros on Steam?
Never enough Pi
FUCK YOU!
this is why i still come to Yea Forums
I think it's cool Octopath is on Stream and not Epic Games Store. As a switch owner I'm more than happy to share the love. All that needs to happen is for it to come to Xbox and PS4.
Dude read what people say about it online, it's all about the flashy as fuck attacks and that EX meter thing.
this BSoD guy has a ton of videos on how to setup cemu and cemu hook and how to install games and manage the available modifications for said games.
watch this vid and check the description for the other vids which include a game download guide, mouse and keyboard guide, motion control guide, and cemu modding guide as well as the download for cemu and cemuhook
current cemu is VERY good. I played all of BOTW on it on my 2k monitor at 60 fps and I only had one minor bug occur which I fixed by switching back to 30 fps for a specific boss fight
and by 2k i meant 1440p but i'm too retarded to remember that it's actually higher than 2k technically and i just remembered this after posting im sorry Yea Forums i have failed you yet again
I'm glad more people get to play it. Console wars are gay and if you're unironically 'loyal' to a corporation then you need to rethink your life choices for a while.
