It was talked so much about before and after launch. But being a single player game there's not a whole lot to talk about now.

I love how some people pretend this game wasn't a dissapointment, it got hyped for years and it was forgotten in like 3 months, more than half of the players didn't even beat it

R*'s milking the shit out of online just like people expected & not adding anything to the game with the persistent character/world that you build up over 50 hours so most people I know played the story and moved on.
They already added racing and a gun from RDR1 to MP, and there was MP locked content on the disc from the start, I don't know why they wouldn't add what they could to SP as well & make everyone happy.

on rails open world cover shooter #141241241 with cowboy gimmick.

who would have thunk?

Yes, despite me spending like 150+ hours on my first playthrough and loving it. Didn't help that it was the kind of game that's fantastic in visuals, story, its open world, voicework, etc, but dogshit in its actual gameplay

hard gameplay is a barrier to entry. So they make it as easy as possible.
Reminder gta 5 literally had autoaim you could turn on in settings. So all you have to do is press the aim button and it automatically snaps to enemy's head.

Game was great. Played it and moved on.
Wonder what made OP so mad about it.

But he doesn't sound mad at all. It wasn't even officially criticizing, you Rockstar drone

That OP template is for baiting people into trashtalking the game, how new are you?

>no pc
its a shit game ok get over it sweetie :)

Attached: 1539584868045.png (740x1146, 1.44M)

I didn't finish the epilogue with how boring it was and the multiplayer is shit. Already traded it in.

He just wants to talk about it and doesn't know how.

>I finished 95% of a 60-80 hour game then decided to trade it in
I refuse to believe you are this retarded

I lost interest in it cause the story gets boring then the epilogue is awful. Epilogue is just fan service anyway.

Yeah I agree with you the Epilogue is John Marston fan wank and was a complete failure on Rockstar's part to separate the franchise from him but you seriously quit when the epilogue in it's entirety can be rushed through in like 2-3 hours?

We talked about the game for months but it's very story focused and the multiplayer is so trash it actually killed the discussion when people saw it was beyond saving and all the updates were just adding dumb deathmatch modes instead of stuff to do in free roam.

Attached: 1548277564767.jpg (1920x1080, 425K)

>on rails
You're literally fucking retarded

You're literally talking about it right now, OP. Sour grapes.

The epilogue was fun. Leisurely doing farm work is always enjoyable to me for some reason

>gta but with cowsois
Of course its forgettable

>Epilogue is just fan service anyway
Imagine a game made for fans of Red Dead Redemption 1 trying to please the fans of RDR1. And it was pretty good for tying up loose ends between RDR2 and RDR1 and I think it allowed a really cool post mortem for the gang by showing what happened to the members after the end

Attached: 1548277028931.jpg (1920x1080, 376K)

>single player game released half a year ago
Gee, I wonder why people aren't talking about it anymore.

Retard.

I have over 800 screenshots of this game, majority of them of Arthur Morgan

Attached: Capture.png (1764x995, 1.15M)

But it'll be out on PC fall 2020 with the PS5 version

it's the most generic western dev open world trash. plus it tried its ABSOLUTE hardest not to offend any "minority" group despite being set in the god damn wild fucking west, yet leaves no opportunity to mention and made fun of ebil old white men and racist nazis and the kkk - who funnily enough weren't even active and a thing at the time this piece of shit is set.

I miss dutchposting

even casual normalfags like nakedjake know it's dogshit. The reception is dependent on the majority of it's buyers only buying it, fifa and GTA. they have no reference to compare it to.

I hate that fag's personality and that's the only video of his I've ever watched, but everything he said in it was 100% correct

Because Yea Forums never discusses video games, especially current gen masterpieces like this one. Its world is amazing and fun to just run around and hunt in and is comfy cubed. Gimme dem (you)s you hating pieces of contrarian shit, this was the best rpg of the generation and it wasn't even intended to be.

What the FUCK were they thinking?

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 104K)

You sound like the only mad one here

game of the decade

there hasn't even been a general on vg for many many weeks

the online really is that bad
I wanted somewhere to talk about the game though,

Oh no they hurt my American feelings. Shut the fuck up. Nobody gives two shits about your constant political race war bullshit. It is a video game, it is fiction.

Because taking Screenshot only entertain for so long.
And since that's all rdr2 has to offer, it's ded.

>meant to be an outlaw in the literal wild west
>start shooting people
>get a fuckhuge bounty
>kill all the lawmen after me
>they dont stop coming, eventually overwhelmed
>lose money on death
>decide to go on another rampage
>soon have a bounty 2x my current bank
>lose more money on death
>bounty hunters now looking for me, cant roam in peace
>towns on lockdown
>literally zero (0) positive benefits from this
>no money to pay off bounty so this happens until i make money somehow, robbing people makes like 1% of the bounty

why the fuck do they penalise having fun so much? its like the only thing they want you to do is peacefully ride around looking at the scenery and doing missions exactly to the script

Attached: ImmaterialUnkemptHarborseal.webm (1280x720, 1.31M)

Every mission is literally riding on rails to a destination where you make your way through a shooting gallery and if you deviate even slightly from the intended structure you fail

>no money to pay off bounty so this happens until i make money somehow, robbing people makes like 1% of the bounty
Getting arrested removes your bounty in that county.

Generally speaking, Wild West outlaws tended to be more interested in robbing banks and trains and stealing cattle and horses than they were in straight up murder, or at least the famous ones were. The James-Younger Gang, Cassidy and Sundance etc. were in it for the money. Shooting random townspeople doesn't exactly make a bank job easier

They need to add a hard mode at a minimum for replayability. Hell, do it for gta5 and I'll play through it again

ok but its a game

>>meant to be an outlaw in the literal wild west
>"but why do I have to be an outlaw in the literal wild west?"
I didn't even play this shit but this is just embarrassing

Yes!

It's because the pacing of the game after chapter 4 is shot to hell, and the epilogue is an absolute slog to get through.

thatd valid if it was a movie and the character was acting out of charcter but the whole realism argument goes out the window when you fucking respawn after death
realistically if you're wanted dead OR alive then the bounty is fulfilled when you get captured. there shouldn't be bounty hunters after you for things you did before death. you bootlicking rocktist.

Attached: stand up for rockstar.png (400x400, 269K)

>Do something naughty in the middle of nowhere
>Bunch of Bounty Hunters materialize right around you

>Why is nobody talking about this game anymore? Is this game that forgettable?
Compared to what?

>more than half of the players didn't even beat it
And less than a third even beat the Online intro. Rockstar are probably kicking themselves at how hard RDRO shat the bed. Dead on arrival.

It's been half a year nigga. It's been talked to death.

30 million sales compared to your 3 million selling trash you like lol

AAA boring walking sim that sheeple consumers grazed on for 2 weeks before moving on

Lmao it's literally the biggest retail game in years. Get over it.

Tahiti DLC when?

Afterlife DLC?

I fucking loved the single player, just saying the Online is trash.

It is. Which shows that heart and soul was put into single player. R* is a single player dev

I'm gonna get it when it comes out on PC and lmao at the console beta testers.

Attached: pirate4ever.png (633x874, 64K)

Thank god this isn't coming to PC.

The core of the game is the story and that's been discussed to death. Shitty multiplayer kinda killed the hype as well.

I'm just waiting for an official release of the soundtrack, its nearly been six months now for fucks sake.

Attached: 1542150790542.jpg (345x428, 102K)

>Why are there consequences for my actions?

Attached: IMG_3951.jpg (881x582, 53K)

The linear missions
The boring gunplay
The Sadie

That's my three main gripes with the game

What a shitty argument. The game has a lot of negatives, going on rampages being a bad way of earning money and a good way of getting bounties is not one of them.

I'm still playing, and enjoying it. I'm taking it slow, and have a job, so I don't have a lot of time to play.

>franchise
you're a dumb nigger

The game is balanced for auto aim though, with how many fast-moving small targets you face in the game.

I love how people keep making these shit posts and trying to pass off the narrative that it was a disappointment just because they're miserable and didn't like it

Keep shitposting, review bombing and screaming from the rooftops all you want because it's not going to make a difference. The vast majority love the game and Rockstar will continue to do what they always do, sell more than any other developer, make a tonne of money, and lead the charge when it comes to innovation in modern day gaming

You're literally obsessed making these threads multiple times a day I hope you're OK buddy. It's easily the best game to come out in years

Attached: 1551110443362.jpg (422x322, 33K)

I completed the whole of RDR2 without auto-aim and it was still extremely easy. This was not because I'm good at aiming, in fact I suck, but the enemies are even worse. By a wide margin. And even when they hit you have a ton of hp compared to how much damage they do and I was underweight for a majority of the game. Health tonics, dead eye, stupid AI and generous checkpoints tip the balance even more in the player's favor. On the other hand, I'm glad the combat is easy because if it was hard it would've been awful.

It was good for a once through but I can't see myself playing through it a second time

Attached: Red Dead Redemption 2_20190111231152.png (1920x1080, 2.37M)

Yeah, about that..

Attached: 2019-03-30 16.54.05.jpg (198x224, 40K)

Great game. Nothing left to talk about. Its been 7 months. Everything has been gone over.

Attached: PS_Messages_20181116_182602.jpg (1920x1080, 146K)

Single player was fun but online is still in beta and they are pushing for a PC release to take advantage of those epic games jew-bucks. There's nothing to tall about.

Why does Yea Forums want to talk about a single video games for like 5 years straight or else its a catastrophe. Is it the autism?

You mean Sadie awesome badass bounty hunter DLC?

Attached: benis.jpg (500x306, 36K)

that one wasn't even that bad

the dominos one though made me wanna eat my own foreskin

also the fact that you're not 'suppose' to finish them all until you can travel to new austin is some dumb shit

Wide as the ocean, deep as a puddle.

Attached: 1525528560667.jpg (1109x1569, 780K)

youtube.com/watch?v=fM6L3-5tQug

I erased that crap wihout finishing it. It was a waste of hard drive

I don't argue with the overall point, but I think it's affect is exaggerated. If they had simply focused less on the muh-realism meme and spent that time on make more content and fun side-quests, it would have easily been a huge winner.

>"B-b-but shrinking horse testicles"
Exactly.

>it would have easily been a huge winner.
what do you people even mean when you say I would have been a huge winner Games already made as much as anyone could have possibly hoped at Rockstar. Much more popular than the first game and has now out sold every Grand theft Auto game besides five. You're not going to be able to convince anybody that worked on it that it wasn't a winner.

I love how people pretend this game didnt have daily threads until 4 months in.
That's literally more than any other game, whether you like it or not.

>muh achievements
note how RDR1, despite being shorter and being out for 8+ years, also has abysmal completion rates., and barely beats RDR2.

Attached: file.png (1058x155, 37K)

This place is just an echo chamber. Retards spout what they hear repeatedly without having the common courtesy to do any research.

>Games already made as much as anyone could have possibly hoped at Rockstar
This is completely and utterly wrong. Their budget for the game was estimated between 300 and 400 MILLION DOLLARS.

Businesses measure success in ROI. If they invest $1 in something, they expect to get $3 in return over the course of 1 year. Most western games get about $5. Japanese games get about $30 due to their lower budgets and huge returns on anime tiddie games. Due to the cost of production, RDR 2 is not even at $2 and the first 30 days of a release is when most of the sales are done.

RDR2 was a financial failure as soon as they approved the budget. And the fact that no one is talking about it or playing it says most people bought it for the hype then realized it wasn't worth their time. LOTS of buyer's remorse.

>forgetting to account for inflated budget outlier
Oof. Funny thing that happens when you increase your budget but the population doesn't magically spike to offset it though.

Everything you said reeks of bias and Japanese dick sucking. Fuck off.

>RDR2 was a financial failure as soon as they approved the budget
Which is why Japan wants to copy it so bad huh?

Attached: Rockstars Miyazaki.jpg (1051x1652, 855K)

>the first 30 days of a release is when most of the sales are done.
RDR2 only counting 2019 sales has outsold every retail game this year so far kiddo

What “innovation” did this game have? Serious question.

I think it was a fantastic game but I'm also done with it now.
But I'll enjoy replaying it one day.

youtube.com/watch?v=fM6L3-5tQug
It still gets talked about

>barely
>about 10% higher

>"more than half of the players didn't even beat it"

It' s a big game. It took me like 3 months for 100%

>39,8 - 34 = 10
yep, this is the retards I share a board with alright.

Also manpower is a finite resources. They waste 400 manpower for 7+ years on a 1:2 ROI when they could have easily made 2 smaller games with 1/10th the budget and an ROI of 1:20.

Fucking retarded business move.

New game bad, old game good.

Sales =/= profit. Try actually reading the post and learning a thing or two about economics you dumb fuck. If I build a car for $90,000 and sell it a trillion of them for $10,000 I may be breaking all sales records, but I the next 20 generations of my family would be in debt. This is not a hard concept to grasp.

unfortunately for you the sales were all made at retail price. the game broke even before it even launched.

best character

Attached: Micah_Bell_1906.png (321x354, 268K)

Oh my god. You just refuse to learn what ROI means and why it's important. A company can only make so many products at one time. They aren't making the most profitable ones to their ability, they aren't performing at their full potential and they're losing money if if the product itself is not in the red. Another product could be sky high in the black if they'd put their resources into that instead of something that simply barely breaks even.

Never start a business.

I’m waiting for the pc release.
I have a PS4 and a PC but I only play PS4 exclusives on the PS4...

unfortunately for you, RDR2 did not "barely break even", it instead broke all industry records and has surpassed the $1B mark.
but keep yelling doomsday, it's funny as fuck.

Fuck off and learn business faggot

articles.marketrealist.com/2019/04/red-dead-redemption-2-is-a-key-revenue-growth-driver-for-take-two/

>using broken sites and not actual PSN data

OH NO NO NO NO NO
It’s 25.9% right now

Yeah I know. I didn't want to post the 25.9% stat because I didn't know exactly what it meant, and I knew that if someone like you pointed it out, I could just blow you the fuck out with the new comparison.

So have at it.

Attached: file.png (1060x155, 36K)

Boom roasted.
