I mean I don’t know what game OP’s image is of or if the review is fair, but if the gameplay is a 2.5/10 that should weigh much more heavily than shit you can overlook like graphics and sound. If a game has ass gameplay, it doesn’t matter how pretty it is.

Man, I remember playing this game when I had no idea what I was in for.
The whole fucking time I was expecting it to be a horror game, the atmosphere was really good for it, too.
And then I saw the notes. With each note, the atmosphere slowly dissipated until I found the attic.
Then I realized I wasted an entire hour of my life being trolled by this game.

I'm so confused by IGN's rating system. If those are the five points of whether or not a game is good, shouldn't it be the average and the score should be 5.1?
Different categories have different weights. The game’s sound is going to impact the score significantly less than the gameplay, because it’s less important.
If the newest AAA game only had 8/10 sound design, they wouldnt be able to give it 10/10 overall score then.
It's inconsistent. Sometimes it is that it is the average of all the scores, sometimes they actually apply the weighting system.
Yeah, same here. I went into it blind expecting it to be some kind of Amnesia clone. Boy was I surprised (and bored).
The scores are completely arbitrary and the numbers have no weight to them. They may as well just say "bad, good, great" and be done with it.
