Basically no combat and NPCs.

during gameplay you can right click on any enemy and you can select an option to read a biography of sorts that lets you know about their rank and role in the organization they are part of.

Fuck yes. The customisation alone would make you cum. Super hero looks, then how the powers look, then you can customise your super base and create a league. The RP in the game was excellent and the community was one of the friendliest in all gaming provided you never went to the forums.

This private server is run by the autist drama queens from the forums. It will not be the same experience.

NCSoft suffers from turboautism when it comes to their pwecious IPs, though.

WoW server code doesn't work the way you think it does. A lot of values and scripting is done server side, and is closed. Northdale has tons of custom scripting. Nost guys had to spend 100s of hours recreating approximate values based off 240p game footage from a decade ago.

NCsoft is not some fucking mafia. They have to go through legal channels like everyone else. This server code is not something that will be met with with swift legal action , you are a fucking dork who has no idea how anything in this world works.

There were incredibly fleshed out hero and villain groups in City of Heroes, and it was quite clear the writing crew had a ton of love for the setting.

One of my greatest arcs was involving Arachnos, one of the head organizations. Lord Recluse was fanatical about immortality, and went on a route of biologically engineering clones of himself to work on reproducing his powers (which were based on the Gods) to two-fold create supersoldiers and to effectively give him bodies to transfer his mind into upon death.

What actually ended up happening is he unreleased a plague of spider-human freaks who annihilated the island the base was one, and act as functional 28 Weeks Later super zombies.
To say the game had expansive lore is an understatement.

it's been 7 years, a lot of people have switched computers and hard drives and some things just get lost in the shuffle. Also I'm pretty sure the backup was just the costume. The server has everything about the character, from enhancements and Incarnate powers down to inspirations and where you last logged off.
