The palace puzzles are miserably unfun. The combat is way too easy. The safe rooms with mid palace party changing eliminate the resource management aspect of the previous games. It's only an "improvement" in a totally superficial way, like "oh the dungeons are actually specifically authored content instead of being random, that's an improvement right?" but then you realize that the content they authored sucks and is worse than the random dungeons.

If you think that characters simply being tropes means that they are intrinsically bad characters, you're dumb. Dumb people think "HA, I'm so smart because I recognized that this story element is common to other stories I've heard, that means that I can safely write this off as low quality."
