Why do people defend this piece of crap?
Why do people defend this piece of crap?
Great music and voice acting along with solid character designs
Best story and presentation out of the 3DS games? I had more fun with it than I had with 2/3rds of Fate if that says anything. Definitely my favorite 3DS FE.
It's a solid JRPG with good art and music
because its really good you stupid fucking idiot
it has fine everything except level design.
This
As you can see, these faggots clearly don't give a shit about gameplay in FE.
Because it's not fatesawakening lolxd
cope
Never played fire emblem where do i start bros?
7
Blazing Sword.
If long tutorials bore you to tears, then Sacred Stones
ok cquck
hairy bush
Nice one retard.
If you wanted a traditional FE there’s plenty, but this was based around FE Gaiden, a game that actually did more than rehash the same game but with more waifus.
Know your place garbage dick
Stop bumping blatant CQfag threads you retards.
Sacred Stones
The average FEfag lives with the mentality of old good new bad, that's why they like to pretend Echoes is good because it's technically a old game
Because it looks nice.
Basically what these anons said . All three are pretty good introductions to FE but I'd recommend FE 7 more.
any of the english GBA ones or Awakening
>a game that actually did more than rehash the same game but with more waifus.
Correct. It rehashed waifus and made the game shitty.
I wouldn't recommend 7 because you need to have played 6 to fully enjoy the plot.
>Awakening
may as well go straight to Fates
that's the other way around actually. 6 is a sequel to 7 in terms of story.
Yeah but you fail to grasp the real significance of certain characters if you don't play 6.
Because it was great in literally every way except map design. The core combat system is unironically the best of any 3ds FE, just held back by atrocious maps. There aren't many classes, but each one has its own unique niche rather than being functionally the same as other classes beyond covering a different part of the weapon triangle. There's a very clear class triangle of Mage > General > Merc > Mage that emerges purely through how the stats work. Growths not being retartedly high and xp being based on dislayed level means when to promote is a meaningful choice. If Echoes had maps as good as RD or Conquest it'd be considered the best in the series
The game has honestly one the best OST in the series:

“Donkey Kong Country proves that players will put up with mediocre gameplay as long as the art is good.”
-Shigeru Miyamoto
This quote applies 100% to Echoes. Almost everyone used to shat on Gaiden until Echoes came with its beautiful presentation and music. It's terrible as a game, but it looks and sounds so nice.
>also
If you want a good story, play Genealogy instead (it has an even worse map design, but it at least can be fun sometimes).
Well, maps were crap but at least they were so braindead I didn't want to kill myself like when playing revelations.
That's all fine and dandy till you realize armors are garbage, bow knights are almost always better than any mage and horsemen are completely outclassed by dread fighters, which means the actual usable classes are like two or three.
Big.
>dread fighter is the best class in the game
>sprite looks like some shitty kirby enemy and model looks retarded on pretty much everyone who has access to it
it's great other than most of the maps. Better than Awakening for sure
>It's great aside from most of the game
Is this the line of thinking of most Echoescucks?
It has a good presentation and it is unironically the only game in the series on 3DS that's even stomachable. The bigger question is how someone can be an Awakening apologist.
I never said it was the best gameplay wise, just the better game overall.
Celica did nothing wrong.
Awakening had shit maps and nobody complained for some reason
it introduced my wife Delthea to the series so it's good in my book
her entire character revolved around doing literally everything wrong
Most people agree 90% of Awakening maps suck
However they're still not as bad as shit like the Swamps in Echoes and there aren't cancerous units like Cantors in Awakening either
When Kaga himself says that Gaiden maps were bad, it's absurd that they just copied pasted the maps from the original into the remake instead of fixing glaring design issues
you're pretty based for a tripfag
Pretty much this. Fire Emblem's mechanics fall apart without proper map design and echoes has some of the worst. It's only enjoyable if you value style over substance.
All of this is blatantly wrong. Mages are far more useful than archers for most of the game and don't really fall off until other classes start getting the ability to fight armors without getting demolished. Even then Mages have utility stuff to fall back on like Tobin getting physic. Armors do their job of tanking and killing anything that isn't a mage more than well enough when the maps allow for it like most of the ones in Alm's route do. And even horsemen have their niche of being able to run down bowmen, mages, or fleeing units.
Are bow knights and dread fighters the strongest classes? Yes. But that doesn't in any way invalidate the usefulness of the others.
being useful for like three minutes at the start of the game doesn't really make them any more relevant
Mae is bae.
"lolmapdesign" is a meme. There's nothing wrong with basic/fundamental FE gameplay and plain/open fields. You idiots have no idea what you're talking about. With less hallways and obsticles the actual FORMATION of your units matters more and without the weapon triangle the game is less paint-by-numbers. Simple does not equal bad. Adding shit to a chessboard would not make the game of chess inherently better. Stop with this 'lolmapdesign' shit already, Christ.
Shut up user. You're not supposed to make sense and take something as a whole. You're only supposed to bitch about muh maps
But every class has good uses through most of the game. In the lategame Mages have utility spells like physic to fall back on and still hit harder than Bow knights that aren't using Hunter's Volley. Armors are useful pretty much all the way through Alm's route, and horsemen provide decent movement in that route too.
I'll admit that armors and horsemen are worthless in Celica's maps though, but her maps are the reason people rightly say Gaiden has the worst maps in the series so I'm not going to hold the game's bad map design against classes that are perfectly useful in the not awful maps.
