It's an absolutely terrible product. The hardware is simply not powerful enough to emulate these games properly and it shows. Also lots of yanks are butthurt about some of the games being PAL versions, but I don't care about that because I'm in the PAL region anyway. Also the game selection is pretty bad. But the number one reason not to buy this product is because it is not powerful enough to emulate these games properly, and therefore the experience is absolutely fucking terrible.

I just had a look on eBay and you should be able to get a PS1 for $25 or less. But really, most people's computers can run a PS1 emulator very well, even if you have just a cheap laptop. So that's probably your best option right there.

True. I think the PS1 didn't really have many classic games to be honest, apart from maybe Tony Hawk 1 and 2. And people rave about MGS but I never played it. The NES and SNES had a lot of classics though.

No I'm 27, and the PS1 was a garbage console. I had an N64 and so did the vast majority of my friends. We played games like Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Super Smash Bros, Starfox 64, Jet Force Gemini, Majora's Mask, Super Mario 64, Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, Rogue Squadron, etc. You know, good games.

The Spyro games and SoTN were amazing, but please, Tekken 3 was the only great one in that "trilogy" and Crash was always trash. Gran Turismo was basically shovelware. Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve were the Uncharted of the 90's. Barely even games.

Pound for pound, the N64/Saturn/PS1 gen was way weaker than everything before and after. PS2 blew the PS1 out of the water and the SNES library is preferable to the N64's. The Saturn is at least comparable to the DC and MD, but most the interesting titles didn't make it outside Japan.

OoT is the best rated game of all time, Goldeneye has a 96 on Metacritic, Majora's Mask has a 95, SM64 has a 94, etc. Also Perfect Dark has a 97, Paper Mario has a 93, Banjo Kazooie has a 92, Wave Race 64 has a 92, Conker's Bad Fur Day has a 92, Mario Tennis has a 91, Mario Golf has a 91, Rayman 2 has a 90 (and it came out on the N64 first, apparently), etc.

That's just completely false. Ocarina of Time is an objectively better-rated game than ALttP by every review aggregator out there. Goldeneye was critically acclaimed and is the seminal console FPS game. Majora's Mask was of course also critically acclaimed. Super Smash Bros started a phenomenally popular series. Starfox 64 was critically acclaimed. Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Super Mario 64, Rogue Squadron, etc.

I had a SNES too but to be honest it was trash. I used to play this Star Wars game on it that was kinda cool. And okay, I will admit that Super Metroid was a cool game, and Super Mario World was cool, and Super Mario All Stars was cool. But none of these experiences were as compelling as what was possible on the N64.

I don't get why you ignored RE2 and RE3 in regard and shat on DC and PE, considering that they're all extremely similar, have a decent amount cutscenes and don't even allow you to skip them (like most survival horror games, sadly.) Regarding PE, it has a nice combat system that gets to shine in the Chrysler Building with hardly any cutscenes, if I remember correctly.

I didn't even have SM64 and never played it, actually. Yeah maybe I should have, I know people rave about it, but I never did. But GoldenEye was a great game, I think all my friends had it as well as me and my bro, and we used to play it a lot. And Smash Bros I didn't have but a couple of my friends did, and that was a great one to play too. Also GoldenEye has a higher score on Metacritic than SM64, by the way. I'm not trying to put down SM64 - I'm simply pointing out that GoldenEye was critically acclaimed, and is also seen as the seminal console FPS game.

Fair enough, I guess 22 Euros isn't a huge amount. Also that's cool about the Vita, I've never used one but it must be an awesome emulation machine. I've got a PSP and I put custom firmware on it years ago and I use it for emulators, namely GBA, SNES, Mega Drive, and GB/GBC. I recently put an N64 emulator on it but it's not really playable. I mean I guess it's playable if you're okay with 10 - 17 fps, but I don't think I'd ever play anything on it.

So the Vita must be pretty good, being more powerful. Also the analog stick on the PSP is really crap, I've always disliked it. It's one of those flat nub things, not a real joystick. The Vita's joysticks look way better, and of course it has two of them. So that combined with the extra horsepower must make the Vita a pretty good emulation machine I would have thought.
