Being the fact they love nothing more than cutting corners and devouring competition, they shut down City of Heroes so their own new MMO could go without competition and make use of the resources CoX was. Members working in the office didn't know until two weeks prior that they were being shut down. This includes Positron and all of them. The code had been changed and updated and altered so drastically that they don't even know or remember how they'd actively replicate it. This is how the story ended.
