I am pretty sure the 10 years of dev time + all the DLC + the mobile games with XV's name on it + keeping the XV multiplayer servers active + the CGI and anime relates to XV's story cost them a pretty penny.

XBC2 has some of the best and addicting gameplay ever, but the story and characters are fucking garbage. The dub is also nonsense trash that even the VAs hated, I'd play with the Japanese audio but the game is so lazy that they didn't subtitle any ambient dialogue or battle lines.
