Did you make sure that a 500W PSU would be enough?

shoulda bought tx650

I've had multiple CX models for on me. Should have bought the RM models instead.

PSU is one of the few parts you really shouldn't cheap out on.

i run a server that has this in it and a 780ti and it still works fine whats your problem

>buy cheap ass psu
>it dies
>WOOOOW how could this happen

who this goblin of cuteness

S-source please?

5 minutes on overclockers would have told you all CX-xxx psus are literal garbage time bombs waiting for the caps to burst.

glad I returned this thing, it was noisy out of the box and it made all sort of weird interferences after shutting down the pc

I've only ever built with Seasonic and never had a single psu problem.

My Cx450 is working just fine for almost 6 years

>got a TXM
You don't skimp on the PSU, dope.
That shit powers your ENTIRE rig.

mine

>not even platinum

It's not even worth to pay the premium, user.

>not buying a 700w
You coulda prevent this

Should've gotten the RMx or RMi series, they were designed with Oklahoma Wolf (JonnyGuru) as the main advisor, this series surpasses many high-end PSU despite being cheaper, they have excellent design.

I'm guessing you either didn't look up how much power all of your components would be using or bought just barely "enough"

Power supply is the one thing you absolutely do not cheap out on.

Happened with me, the PSU fucking exploded. Mercifully, it didn't damage other parts of the PC.

>Anything less than a gold mark
>500W
You're a dumdum

>pic related is mine
how screwed am i?

>My car has a redline of 9k RPM
>My PC draws 500W

I shouldn't

>Drive the car at 9K RPM non-stop
>Buy a 500W PSU

I Should

>Drive the car below 9K RPM to prevent the engine from blowing up
>Buy a PSU that isn't burning itself down from 100%+ load.

Mine has been running for 7 years, but then again, I never upgraded and have been using the same toaster ever since. I certainly wouldn't trust it when I decide to upgrade.

yep, that's a BRUH moment for me

>No name brand

Very.

>Looks this up
It's much cheaper than the ones I've considering to buy. Is it any good? What system it supports?

>no name brand
top kek

You live under a rock or something? be quiet! is hardly a no name brand.

>Almost ten years old cheap PSU dies
>buy Corsair VS650 to replace it because I thought that Corsair was a reliable and respected manufacturer
>didn't check online reviews (my mistake)
>shit performance from day one
>system craps itself under load
>9 months in come home from the gym and the PC is turned off
>try to turn it on but nothing happens
>go to the store and buy Seasonic PSU
>install it
>everything works fine
>everything has worked fine since

Returned the shit Corsair PSU and read online that it's probably the worst PSU someone could buy even if they were building a Solitaire machine for their grandma. Fucking kek.

>>In the first day of intense gaming, PSU dies
I'm sure it went the way it wanted to go, user. Don't cry.

JonnyGuru makes the best PSU reviews out there, they analyze primarily the critical components.

From EVGA, i usually only recommend the G (Seasonic), G2 (Superflower) and P2 (Superflower) series. Their lower end models are not so great, this GQ apparently uses FSP OEM, which is a solid OEM, but nothing impressive when compared to the top dogs such as Delta, Seasonic and Superflower.

Here is a spreadsheet with many high-end PSUs and their OEMs:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qaSSCWjC11ArO8WyBb_wTvFU_Ez9488F6ARkbag1e14/

Again, focus in getting Delta, Seasonic and Superflower OEMs (or just get one from the brand itself), even if it's those non-modular bronze models, at least you know for sure you're getting something that has good build quality and lives up to it's specs.

You would be pushing it with a mid-tier build. 650 is safe for everything except the highest end PCs. You can try 500 if you know the hardware in your computer and their respective power consumption under load.

My 750W BeQuiet! DarkPower is now like 10 years old and still working fine. One of the best PSU companies on the market if you ask me.

Modern components are very eco and don't use that much energy but 400w still not enough for a PC build for games. I recommend 650w.

Has Nelson been posted yet?

bought at 650w corsair psu like 6 years ago. shit works just fine.

>Yea Forums now takes any bait thread and goes with it

i have a be quiet cooler for my i5 2500k, shit keeps it icy cool and is dead silent.

after 5 years of use i realized i put psu wrong way yet still working fine

Hey that is my PSU.

>Corsair
kek
Corsair's PSUs are like notebooks from Acer
They always die prematurely
Just go with seasonic

>FUUUU
Sounds like you fan is working at least

>skimping on the psu

Attached: 1555439879384.png (637x599, 435K)

>yeah bro just use the one you get with the case

desu I had a cheap ass chieftec (europoor brand) PSU for over 10 years. powered everything form a 7300gs to a gtx980, I'm gonna put the next top end nvidia GPU on it just for laughs (was gonna go with 2080ti but I don't wanna pay for RTX early adoption tax)

depends on the system, if you have a toaster it should be fine

will it do the job for a 2400g paired with gtx1660ti?

>cucksonic
those PSU are made in corsair factory also, retard

i have a ryzen 2400g and i ordered a gtx1660ti, will it blow up? the gpu said it was 120W

I've got a 450w one and so far I haven't had any issues with it
1060/7600k build

Step aside boys

Attached: 2019-04-16 12_11_29-toughpower grand rgb 750w - Google Search.png (731x492, 305K)

this is correct

>build new gaming PC
>after turning it on there's a horrible rattling
>after checking everything I find out it was just a little sticker that fell into the PSU

PSU is the one thing you really shouldn't cheap out on.

Then again I paid the jews for a platinum quality power supply so maybe I'm just a sucker but I tell you last time I got a built in PSU and I lost two motherboards to "accidental shorts"

Then niggle me this:

Why do corsair PSUs degrade to shit after 2-3 years? Yet superflower are fine after 5 and bench stable overclocks.

uh it's called electrical infetterence *wink*

no its coil whine

Attached: DXHR.jpg (602x369, 85K)

maybe now you learn not to buy chingchong shit. buy good PSUs you monglets. it's gaming pc babby's first mistake. loads it up with turbo mega pro 1337 g4m0r gear and then buys a 15 bucks psu.

>rgb
Never got the rgb phase, makes shit look tacky as fuck.

this has not let me down. my other pc runs a 1080gtx/i76700k with a 500W version of pic related. 3 years and not a single fucking hitch. plus, they are all modular, and fair priced as well.

Attached: leadex 650w.jpg (745x481, 85K)

RMx has a high failure rate. See reviews. On the test bench it's excellent but the quality control is lackluster. I would recommend EVGA G2 or Seasonic Focus Plus series instead.

That's the best time for it to fail. You can quickly replace it.

Other then failure, worst case scenario you get coil whine. People tend to buy PSUs with way more watts then needed
