ANNO 1800

>have trouble getting stable 60fps on my machine
>set settings to low and crowding to medium
>game runs much better so set them to medium, than high
>game runs at 60fps on high settings
>at very high it manages at stable 50
>before that it struggled to run 30 on very high
>the only thing that I kept at medium is the number of people in town
what is this dark magic?

>played Open Beta
>pretty comfy city builder so decide to get the game
>aright comfy start cut wood mine steel build ship etc..
>smart people are picky want shits
>aright
>smarter people want shits you cant procured it on your initial island
>aright time to expand to other island that can grow hop and make some beer for these drunkard
>game still comfy
>to build bigger ship you need smarter people
>they want rum and coffee. those new world stuff
>aright time to go there
>settle on yet another island
>cant build shit without having to send resource from old world and stuff
>trying to juggle between 3-4 city trying to keep all there shit together
>great fire burning half of your city, riot, pirate, other empire getting salty about me stealing their islands
this game went from comfy to uncomfy real fast

this game feels so empty in content
>continous game
you'll build your city once or twice and then realise how repetetive this game is. in every game you do the same things, and progress on the same linear path. there's no place for any creativity

It's a special kind of German-ness in these games. Some people enjoy managing and expanding the flows of goods, slowly turning a village in a bustling city, optimising the grid or making a comfy settlement with lots of beautification. Sure, it's repetetive, but you can set goals for yourself ingame and do whatever you want. It's the ultimate city builder sandbox.

Go play Cities: Skylines if that's your thing

Steam version user?
There have been reports that something extremely fucky is going on with the Steam version with regard to the games settings/preferences.

but I want scenarios for this game

>you'll build your city once or twice
Literally fucking what? One continuous game will involve building 4+ cities and probably take you 40-50 hours and you still won't see everything and that's ONE game.

You're so full of shit.

They may add them later

Are there unlockables and achievements like in 2070?

No one played scenarios, not worth the investment of time or resources to cater to less than 2% of players.

This is blatantly false.

This.
1404 and 2070's progression system were fucking great.

Seems pretty spot on to me, in 30 hours in the beta I only had one main island, one smaller city and one new world island with a small city.

>Literally fucking what? One continuous game will involve building 4+ cities
you really only need your main city. you settle other islands for resources/fertilities just to ship them to your main island. your other cities are lackluster

How is it false faggot? A full 5 tier city will take you 15+ hours to build.

>building 4+ cities
Do people do this? It sounds more comfy to have several smaller cities than one gaint blob that covers a whole island and is impossible to feed.

what is the most optimal way to do tourism? I think about settling my zoo on some barely inhabited island in order to get nature bonus and avoid industry maluses

It's incredibly satisfying to have a trade network feeding your island megacity

>is impossible to feed.
Erhalten Gut

bump. thread is dying because people are playing the game instead of posting on Yea Forums

you have achievements but no unlocks

The thread is dying because this game is shit.

t. currently playing Soviet Republic, the better city builder

how is the campaign/scenarios compared to 1404?

anno isn't city builder

Games like Anno are shit to discuss on Yea Forums because most of Yea Forums is literally too fucking retarded to even play them.

Attached: ARRY.jpg (2560x1440, 839K)

no scenarios and campaign is just continous game with quests

>Anno isn't a citybuilder

Why was it removed from steam? Is there a torrent yet?

Attached: 1479574182242.png (562x582, 261K)

it isn't. it's economic strategy about making supply chains
game is probably secured like AC:O so wait a month

*ting ting*
Ahem I have one thing to say
GERT
LUSH

Attached: c6b.png (1000x1000, 177K)

It's a production chain manager. There is no agency in the game at all. You plop down something, it works or it doesn't.

Don't ever stop user, you're the only thing that makes Anno threads worthwhile.
God i'm so sick of retards like you, you're insufferable.

Attached: AnnoThreads.jpg (1920x1080, 553K)

How do you get the camera so low like this?
I wanna take comfy street shots.

Also I'm completely new to this series, went straight to sandbox because what little of the campaign I played in the beta was fucking atrocious.

How am I doing so far? It looks like ass, I'm a fag for trying to build organically.
At least I'm finally starting to make money instead of bleed it.

what pop level would they be? and look, they even have jao from the colonies with them!

>trade unions increase productivity
shouldn't they decrease it?

German trade unions increase productivity.
The """trade unions""" you get in America and the UK are just subverted bullshit.

Attached: 1555164328241.jpg (3840x2160, 3.01M)

they are not american

Workers I think would be the most apt.

How the fuck are you supposed to find Lone Harold?

Love the tropics desu.

This outright looks like Tropico.

>tropico 6 introduces islands
>anno 1800 introduces the new world

I was thinking the same thing, except less colorful.

>finally get some ships rolling out
>start smashing that dumb pirate cunt
>asks for a cease-fire
>wants me to pay 20k for it while I'm sinking her fleet
I'm gonna kill her twice for that

ctrl+shift+R puts you into first person mode so you can walk around

anyone have that production chart?

1404 still is and always will be the best Anno

This is better

there you go user
1404=1800

Attached: 155538875466.jpg (818x574, 74K)

This game does the same thing that Civ does where other nations and enemies are just so aggressively smarmy that crushing them is so fucking satisfying.

When exactly should I start exploring outside of my starting land?

This should really just be in the game. I mean, the production chains already are, just add the numbers.

OP here. game now works at 80 fps on high settings. it's like it is unfucking itself as the time passes. how is that possible?

Why is it so small?

Attached: 1555355310132[1].jpg (4116x2884, 859K)

I think higher level buildings have less towns people around them, maybe it has to do with that?

1800 is unironically better. the workforce management is one of the simplest, but best additions to the series. now you actually have to have farmers to work the fields, workers to man the factories, etc. it gives your cities such a more organic look with the slums on the outside with a rich urban core.

Attached: Anno 18002019-4-16-9-27-59.jpg (1920x1080, 781K)

I didn't really advanced the game much. I got to artisans and then tried to fuck with graphic settings. now I finally got myself to play but the game crashed. I don't know if that's just an isolated incident or it will continue

not yet.

> The cross is right there on the bell

Stupid Pollack, go back to /int/

Do the seasons change? as in you have to manage your summertime Workforce and wintertime workforces differently.

It'll just be a series of 2-3 expeditions and then you have a tiny island with 3 buildings and after ~1 hour you're done, enjoy your 15$ purchase.

Same place as swastikas. Religion is evil and should not be portrayed in video games.

Based crusader poster, fuck these heathens.

How do I attack friendly ships with my own?

I hope they patch it back in, or someone mods it. Not buying because of this.

Is this another monument to polish butthurt?

Your city has grown more beautiful.

Protip: make ships and sell them for large profit

1404 modded is better, 1800 modded will be GOTAY

mods?

It does more than imply it.

Both fuck huge god tier mods that make the Anno games whole new games.

no seasonal or day/night cycles (would be cool though).
here the farmer dwellings in the city are being converted to workers. so now there's a farming village thing growing on the other side of the river. eventually i expect all of this to be one huge connected city as the production is offloaded and the city/village grow together.
and that's not even me trying to make it look like anything; it's just the way they made the game.

>€25
Hope arctic is meaty.

Why would you do that?

>tfw no new world panama canal dlc + new population tier
>tfw no 'opening of japan' dlc with jap pops and competing to supply machinery, specialists, etc.

arctic could be cool though...

>no africa dlc

There was a quest where that one guy wanted me to destroy his ships.

how do I use Items? I got some repair thing for my ship but can't use it

All that pig shit goes straight to the river where the city gets it's water.

what else could this be? arctic is already on the map. egypt maybe?

Attached: africa.png (1184x841, 1.53M)

Anno 1800 is like the 8th game in the series.
What you are describing has been a part of the series since the very first Anno 1602.
Is this your first Anno? Are you 12?

Attached: 1405486632504.gif (225x170, 1.79M)

>water

they only drink schnapps, rum and beer.

idk but in the season pass they didn't said anything about that

W-what do bros
I've only just got marina shit unlocked.

Attached: what do.png (353x380, 254K)

Maybe the first dlc?

Bully her

Huh, Chinese people don't normally ask for permission before trying to take islands.

She's a weird Chinagirl. She even complained to me when I censored my newspaper.

crack when

it's something about yurop. Anyway, the dlcs at least from what we got from the season pass description seem pretty lackluster with the exception of the arctic one. I hope they won't fuck it up

If you meant the anarchist he's hust another character to fight against but it seems that maybe there will be some special mechanics attached to him

botanica looks pretty cool. i bet the desert area will be egypt and you'll have to construct archeological digs to furnish your national museum (like how you'll fill the botanical garden with plants).

D-does it hurt my relationship with her?
I kind of feel bad for her, I took a peak at her island and her settlement is the most retarded thing I've ever seen, nothing about it makes sense.

Anarchist is not a part of the season pass.

She's a push over, it's easy to ally with her and then exploit her stupidity.

>- The Sunken Treasure DLC: Expand your island with a new European session
So there will be european map? What's the point?

arabs were a big part of 1404 and they were the desert faction. Wouldn't be surprised if they were in some future DLC.

it didn't said anything about egyptian area in botanica. They only told us about the garden so far

Maybe a continental biome with more use for trains?

The whole thing is european. They're likely talking about a multisession that would take place in some other part of europe where the maps take advantage of undersea stuff, a la 2070.

i meant they'll do something similar in whatever theoretical egyptian dlc. as you'll fill the garden with plants you'll fill your museam with relics; something like that i imagine for the future.

Immediatly, you won't really be neefing your ship anytime soon

what does multisession even mean? You can transfer stuff between your different games? Or they mean new/old world division?

>what else could this be? arctic is already on the map. egypt maybe?
Africa and slave trade, it's going to be kino.

Uncle! How good to see you!

Cuck her, get the renown loss back via quests for her.

Seriously though, cuck fucking everyone who is dumb enough to ask your permission to settle islands and spam warhouses on islands you want asap.

YOU'RE TYING THE KNOT

So I've gotten an item that increases farm productivity by 50% and module number by 25%. What effect does this combination have on their total production? If it was just the production increase I'd just go 'oh, it goes from 1->1 to 2->3' but I'm befuddled by the module increase. How many distilleries to a potato farm naow?

Attached: zuikaku is confused.png (1017x1327, 88K)

bump.
Also is tourism worth it? Seems expensive

NEVER

Attached: 1549230670486.jpg (810x713, 88K)

multisession is when you can play two different sessions/maps at the same time. so when you're building stuff in the old world map and get to a point where you're waiting for more bricks or steel to be built, waiting for a big building to be constructed, etc. you can zoom to the map and go build on the new world and your old world map will still be running; collecting money, producing goods, buildings going up etc.

check the process time niggy

I'm waiting for the Germans to works this shit out.

Its the separate maps. They've essentially done what they did with 2205 but fixed all the problems it had by giving it nonexistent load times and good gameplay.

Why is this a good thing, exactly? I can hardly use most of the two session maps I have already.

because you essentially get to play two 'games' at the same time. like user said above its great when you're waiting for shit to get produced or waiting for something else to happen like the build buildings that get built in stages. also you get more biomes/map styles to play with in a single game session. instead of just having two islands at the bottom be the "arctic" or "asia" you get an entire map instead.

Can you come back to find the town has burnt down/people are revolting or does it not simulate things like that while on the other map?

yes. you get notifications of disaster but you have to maintain functioning services because it continues without your observation.

Have never played an ANNO before but I'm really interestd on this one. I love city skylines and tropico.
Will I enjoy this?

Attached: 1550215339244.jpg (630x631, 45K)

They make it sound fancier than it is

yes

I want to give one of the future annos a shot, which one is better?

>it's an "only your ships are slow as fuck" episode

wind direction was a mistake.

Attached: 1434900297848s.jpg (250x250, 6K)

That depends. Is your IQ closer to 80 or 100?

grug smartest grug to ever lived

>stay close to the smuggler ship
>it zooms away at 10 times my flagships speed

>60 american coins
>for a city simulator

why?
