it's not that it's slow, it's that it insists on holding your hand and taking you down the pretty little path it has in mind for you. tutorials for every single fucking thing, roadblocks that prevent you from going anywhere. OoT was a jump from 2D to 3D and it just had a little playground for you to get used to shit that you could ignore. two games later we have a "spiritual successor" that gives you a sword tutorial and a slingshot tutorial. playing TP feels like i'm fucking suffocating with how adamant they are about you going where they want you to. OoT has an intended path too but as soon as you get out of kokiri forest you can visit a shitload of places and have a lot of stuff you can do.
