They don't make economical sense and AMD has closed the benchmark performance gap with Intel anyway. It would cost hundreds more per unit to have a dedicated CPU and dedicated GPU with dedicated heat solutions rather than just paying AMD. It makes engineering, manufacturing and IP more expensive to procure as well.

nigger 8 cores has been a thing in consoles since 2013 and we have barely seen an increase in multicore loads over that time. anyone rocking even a 2nd gen intel i7 processor from 2011 is still chugging along fine. hell, quad cores are still viable today despite multiplats being optimized for console with 8 cores. the best budget gaming processor right now is a 2200g which is a quad core and vega graphics and it runs games just fine for the money it costs.
if anything this gen should have been the turning point for more multithreaded games seeing as the 8 cores in consoles are all fucking trash and every bit of power from every core needs to be extracted (in reality games only get 6 cores anyway). next gen with powerful hardware like this devs won't even take full advantage of it because they're lazy.

Nope, most people still have 1080p tv's & base PS4's, the idea that every Console gamer has a 4K OLED TV with a Xbox One X is bullshit

So all PS4 games will run much better on PS5? That would be huge. Horizon Zero Dawn at a steady 60fps etc.
I'd bother upgrading to 4K if the next Playstation actually did native 4K at 60fps, and supported Ultra blurays. The current state of 4K content is said otherwise on both Pro/XboneX.
