The japanese name is Earisu (eh-ah-ri-su)
It's common practice to drop the 'u' at the end of a ku-su-tu-etc ending (ex: (ka-pu becomes cup) )
This makes more sense to me than changing the 'su' ending to a 'th' dipthong
