Too bad Prototype 2 sucked. I liked the first game. I also loved just dicking around in it picking up random civilians, taking them to the rooftops and throwing them down.

I finally got around to playing the second years later after finding it unplayable on release because of the performance and it was actually pretty decent. I will never understand why or how they made it worse than the original though

I will never forgive this game for doing the "you lose all your powers temporarily" gimmick

I've only played 2 and I enjoyed it for what it was, is 1 better?

The boss fight with Greene was kinda bullshit ngl, otherwise both games were pretty fun it's a shame they never continued the series although given the way Infamous went maybe it's for the better.

I feel like the thing that really held the games back was the variety in the weapons, P2 didn't introduce enough new weapons over P1 (honestly they should've wiped the slate clean and given Heller a new assortment of weapons to fit his character), plus there's a sort of indifference to most of the weapons since Whipfist is as good as it is in both games.

Why did Prototype 2 "suck"?

For me I hated the visuals and effects, Heller was just a black guy chimping out and Mercers character was ruined turning him into a "all humans are bad and must die" type villain.

Mercer had no character to ruin. In the first game he was just generic action hero man. Heller has a personality; he's angry, doesn't take shit from people, is nice to those who help him and mean to those who get in his way. He was way better of a character than Alex ever was.

Honestly mates it's been so long I don't even remember. I just remember not having fun with it even though I liked the first.

Prototype 2 is way better than 1. I don't know what the fuck you people are smoking.

Gameplay is better, but the story is completely butchered. They turned Alex into mustache-twirling villain because of that stupid interquel comic when he supposed to be apathetic to humanity

I might have to play 2 then, 1 was pretty fun despite the combat being super shallow and the bosses sucking.

I remember snoring when I beat Prototype 2 because I could just spam that fucking shield bash at no cost whatsoever.

Interesting protagonist from first game is turned into a cartoon tier villain, and the new protagonist is some generic angry black man.

Also less content and performance problems.
Though it didn't have any stupid difficult spikes like the first one

I enjoyed it the same way I enjoy most open-world games: just mindlessly fucking around in the world. The missions or the story are irrelevant.

I have it for xbox 360, a good game that deserves more recognition. Prototype 2 was shit though.
