Borderlands Thread: Claptastic Edition

I enjoyed pre-sequel

there's a fun game in there beneath the tedious bits of jumping across the moon and shitty writing weighing down the experience

I predict massively busy art, garbage UI, meh skill trees, 50% junk classes ala gunzerker, useless class skills, weapon stats that don't represent any sort of viability, excessive time-wasting microloot, vehicles that handle like they're on ice, large world only for the sake of being large.

All of this covered in a layer of solidly entertaining style/writing/characters of the sort that is somehow mistaken as gameplay these days.

In other word: a true sequel for the series.

from the trailer, 2/4 of the playable classes involve casting off drones to do work for you.

My favourite kind of class.

that sounds fun on paper but for wilhem in particular it was really fucking boring

the least they could've done was give wolf/saint some voices or something like claptrap's minitraps

Saint had a voice, I think. He kept saying shit like "Alpha's gonna eat you up" or something.

I remember hearing one of them say "Come on! At least try!" on multiple occaisions.

That said, I liked Wilhelm. His pets actually did more than draw aggro which I liked. They debuffed enemies, buffed you, AND drew aggro.

I hope Fl4K's pets have more functionality than meat shields and extra DPS. I want a more tactical use of them, especially with 3 of 'em. I want to need to think on which to summon during specific situations.

I feel that Randy isn't helping (actually hurting the company's reputation), but who else can take over? Elon Musk?

You know its going to be one of the DLC characters.

Moze, she has a walking tank, that can either be controlled directly, walk around like a pet, and be mounted by a 2nd player (or maybe yourself if it's walking around like a pet).

Does BL1 still have some jank to it like guns sometimes not firing when they should be, or dialogue audio suddenly gets silenced and subtitles go away, or is this just a "works on my machine" problem?

EOS was significantly easier than Eclipse,. Especially on a Sniper Baroness.

I've noticed that Zane has the least amount of fan/hype amongst the new characters. Why is that? I like his design (not too thrilled about his hologram and drones, since those 2 things have been done).

He's the straight-laced soldier like Roland, Axton, and Athena were. Effective, but boring.

Probably because his abilities haven't been showcased as well as the other three.

He's an assassin for 13 year old boys.
Although I suspect he'll be better than that.

Oh, gotcha. I actually liked the pirate one the least, and I liked Hammerlocks a lot just because the main villain was a jobber. Maybe I'm dumb.
