Sega Rally is the GOAT. Shame it's too short.

Last one I played was Dirt 3, I liked it except for the edgy youtube monster ben klock gymkhana shit. Rally tracks were also way too short.

easy left easy left

caution hairpin right

You now remember the main menu music.

This was a very unsophisticated game, but I really enjoyed it.

>rally
>multiple cars at once

I like Sega Rally 2.

Newfags gonna say DiRT Rally 2.0.

Sega Rally 2 the true GOAT

Nothing else has ever come close to Sega Rally for gameplay, fuck realism in driving games unless you're going the Gran Turismo route

Street Racing > Rally

All this good taste on /v today.
Sega rally 2 is the best I would kill for a re-release

For me, it's Network Q RAC Rally Championship.

>fuck realism in driving games unless you're going the Gran Turismo route

As someone who watches Rally and has a small simulator setup for driving games. Realism is extremely important for me. Rally is pretty dangerous and only tried it a few times in real life(beginner courses) so having an accurate experience on my PC without the risk factor is really nice.

Based. Tony Mason supports this post.

It's fine for Rally because Rally is hard enough as it is.

i think richard burns rally is considered the best by real fans.

RBR with mods still > *
Dirt Rally was great for accessible action (leaderboards, daily/weekly etc) and a good simcade physics engine though

youtube.com/watch?v=EJxHEgBRqhM

soundtrack BTFO everything else aswell

>Dirt Rally was great
>was
It's still great, especially now in 2.0 with the new suspension physics and better weight transfer. Drving in Monte Carlo 2.0 is fantastic. I didn't touch RBR since last mounth

Rally Trophy

Unironically FH4's Fortune Island has some amazing dirt tracks and hundreds of rally cars

Oh yeah I still play it regularly. I meant "was" as in "it was a great release"

Honestly you'd probably change your mind if you tried any sims with a FFB wheel.

the difference in interactivity is staggering, like the gameplay is just so much more complex and rewarding because of it.

I think simracers are probably the best actual games around in terms of the pure visceral enjoyment of their basic mechanics.

GAME OVER YEEEAH

Just get a decent car, faggot. Nothing's more enjoyable than ragging a fast car around country roads. Especially at night.

>no V-Rally 2
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?

Until you die, or get arrested

>Nothing's more enjoyable than ragging a fast car around country roads
bikes are more fun :~)

All sim racers are much harder than arcades though, some golds in Assetto Corsa campaign campaign are significantly harder than beating Sega Rally including the special course and everything. I like arcade racers a lot but they aren't anywhere near sims in terms of challenge, in fact that's part of why I like them because sometimes it's better to just relax and play instead stressing about every corner and every tiny bit of grip loss

Yeah it's a fantastic game that even in its vanilla form holds up great besides the shit-tier sound design I'd definitely recommend it if you're up for the challenge

Proofs?

The one that is most fun for you.

Why is there still no Group B focused game?

I just wanna drive through Rally dear Sintra with a Lancia Delta

exactly. Anyway its not like racing lines / racing skills don't matter in games like sega rally despite lack of realism.

There are some really good and challenging custom tracks in FH4, the problem is actually finding them. I've had some luck on the Forza subreddit searching and digging through old posts, and from trying out random tracks in game that aren't just money grinders. The good custom ones are way better than what the game normally offers, some can be up to 30 minutes long and take full advantage of the map, and unlike the base game tracks they aren't 50% road.

Yeah they both have their place. I think most people dismissing sims never even played them seriously and it's just a kneejerk response. I've seen so many "arcade only" fags completely change their tune after some hours spent playing sims since they realize it's fundamentally the same thing but tougher and more complex. There's a reason people love racing irl after all, because it's fun.

Dirt Rally with wheel and VR.

Why would you want Lancia delta where there is two other superior Lancias?

If only RBR didn't need mods to be "good"

It doesn't, it's good right out of the box
