You're a faggot and this is a shit thread.

Literally nothing has changed other than it having an idiot proof option to install Nvidia drivers when you install Ubuntu rather than doing it manually.

They finally convinced NVIDIA to kill EGLStreams?

>implying anyone but laptop niggers and companies actually pay for windows

There's only 241,300~ linux users on steam

out of 127 million

Unironically proton and stadia are what cement Linux as the future of gaming. Proton works exceptionally well, running 80% of what you throw at it flawlessly, and Stadia is forcing devs to make games for linux boxes using Vulkan

"I haven't tried linux in my life but I'm sure it's bad becalse le memes wouldn't lie to me"
"Now please feed me more telemetry and ruin some more of my legacy software"

>pajeets still trying to shill shitdia

>nothing has changed other than it having an idiot proof option
Implying that isn't a massive change for the average user of this 80 IQ board. Seriously, the biggest complaint about Linux on Yea Forums is
>it's hard, I don't want to learn things
Now it's so easy, even a console fanboy can't fuck it up. So go ahead Switchbros and Sonybros, now even you can stab a needle in Microsoft's leg

Implying 90% of the revenue from Windows 10 isn't from telemetry.

I'm not going to use stadia because the concept is retarded, but my point is that since games will be developed with vulkan and linux boxes in mind, linux consumers on other platforms like steam benefit.

Reminder that all low effort shitposters are filthy dumb resditor scum
Try killing yourself OP

What a shitty article. I thought it was something related to quality of the drivers. It's just some features to hand hold driver installation on Ubuntu

>been on xubuntu for well over 6 months now
>only play one or two games so I never get compatibility issues

It's good, the "linux is stable" thing is actually true, never has a game crashed on me yet, windows 10 was hell compared to this, so much bloat, useless applications, and god, the updates were cancer.

Is there a proper filepicker with image thumbnails in the web browser though? I tried ubuntu over a year ago and my choices seemed to be
A) stare at a wall of 151785468956.jpg filenames with a single shitty preview on the right
B) use KDE

Yeah, I think there is, gonna check right now, let me get out of bed and boot it up.
And why kde? I mean so far xfce didn't give me trouble, and I'm not huge into riceing...

Because some years ago KDE was the only one with actual tile preview like in Windows, not sure if that changed. It's a really insignificant issue in the grand scheme, but when you upload pics to Yea Forums it just keeps coming up every day.

Well I just checked and there is not, but it doesn't affect me really, I prefer the single line system.
And I don't see it as anywhere near a reason to through the effort of making a backup of my disc just to change distros.

Microsoft lives from corporate contracts you retard.
Home owners don't even register on their radar. At least not as a direct income source.

Pretty sure you can just use Konqueror within Gnome or whatever other destop manager you're using. Firefox is retarded and uses the Gnome file picker even within KDE for some reason. You could probably also try suse-Firefox with the KDE picker patched in. I'm not near my computer right now, so I can't confirm it.

Also if you open the file directory outside of the web browser, there is larger image showcase, but there isn't when you do it through he web browser.

There's been an open bug tracker since 2004 requesting this. No one cares enough to acutally do it

Linux is shit. Don't worry

Well be the change you want to see?
I personally never use the larger showcase, I think the 5 pixel showcase is plenty enough to find any image I may wanna use.

Oh oh user, looks like there is an update waiting to take 10% of your gpu's power again, watch out!

Can you drag an image from here onto the "files" button in Yea Forums quick reply and have it work?

Yeah, just checked.
You can do the same with images you just downloaded in firefox & chromium when they appear in-app.

How the fuck is EPIC anti-Linux? Their engine supports it natively.

They refuse to release their launcher for Linux. Even games that already have Linux support on Steam, like transistor or Slime rancher, are missing any acknowledgement of Linux in their EPIC store page. It's actually quite baffling why they do it. They're losing sales on already supported games because they don't want to put in a bit of extra effort on a fucking launcher.

Thanks for checking all that stuff for me. I'll have to try linux again sooner or later since non-10 windows is being phased out.

Did they include proprietary drivers out of the box?

I'm using windows 10 for a year more or less and the OS is so good that I had to install ubuntu on dual boot, I had never really used linux but I got it quite easy, but gaming on the enviroment looks really steam dependent

Steam is by far the biggest contributor, but GoG and the Humble Bundle also sell Linux games. If you want to pirate Windows games, both Proton and Lutris are great in getting you set up without having to configure WINE yourself. And yes, you can use Proton without Steam.

They most likely don't do it because Linux rhymes with Cheaters for games developers.
Epic currently needs the best reputation they can get, and the possibility of having chare on their platform list likely isn't desirable.
And if they started offering games on Linux, they couldn't back down after from a PR standpoint.
