Wubs are fucking boring to listen to. Yes, I've listened to the whole soundtrack the way through AND seen the lecture by the guy who wrote it, and still it doesn't change the fact that it's shit.
It suffers from the same syndrome that so many games which spam orchestral music do, where it all blends together. Doom's soundtrack was, although just ripoffs of existing heavy metal songs, still melodically distinct and catchy. D44M's soundtrack is static and wubs and distortion and screaming noises piled on until there's no memorable or catchy tunes left.
Which, by the way, is also why wubstep is a derogatory term, because you end up with no song left.

Mick Gordon was more interested in memes of spelling out 666 in his music production software than actually making music that was anywhere near the original, or memorable.
