The Wii had the best UI of any Nintendo console handheld or otherwise in my opinion. It stuck with it's theme and had plenty of bells and whistles. The whole "channel" schtick worked very well and all of the original music sealed the package very well. As much shit as the Wii got (rightfully so as I believe the quality of their games dropped drastically around that time with some exceptions) it really was their last great console. Backwards compatibility, a strong online store, a fun avatar system, etc.

Xenoblade 2 isn't a first party game, odyssey and botw aren't on sale from what I saw unless you count the 5 to 10 dollars at certain retailers maybe said. Xeno is 40 at some retailer but not in store as far as I know.

not that user but m+r is underrated imo, I'm surprised it's gotten so cheap and still gets overlooked (I guess because nobody fucking likes the rabbids), gameplay is pretty good - like xcom lite but with some additional puzzle-y elements to help it stand on its own. Also has pretty good multiplayer, both co-op and vs.

The game is pretty good, way better than anyone would have assumed an Ubisoft-made game featuring the Rabbids could ever be. It's an Xcom styled game that does the gameplay pretty competently.

The game by itself without the DLC is pretty solid, though the Donkey Kong DLC was also very well worth it, I felt. But if you want to save money, you're fine without it.

that's not a problem with its features. It's because the RAM bandwith is so shitty and the OS was rushed, it was barely finished. Also the CPU is like 100 years old.

Nothing else since consoles got complex UIs has been this fast and self explainatory, everything is right there in front of you, no sub-menus, side bars and labyrinth of of links that take you to the same place. Your favorite designed-by-committee UI might have more bells and whistles than the Switch, but the elegance of the Switch UI just simply doesn't exist on other modern consoles, handhelds or PC. It's really quite impressive.

Switch OS is great because its fast and just werks. I'm using it to play games, not ogle at the menu design. I'll take something thats clean and snappy over the Wii U's more detailed but slow as all hell menu any day.
