Reasonably justified distaste towards Blizzard coupled with typical IT'S DEAD culture. So there's just tons of people who want to see the game as this awful thing so they act like it is that awful thing.

The game itself is fine. It's well made and you get a lot of stuff in the game for a set price, no heroes tied to DLC or anything. Definitely has balance issues when looked at closely though.

Tracer needed to be put down, still does.

Briggett or whatever the fuck her name is wasn't put there to counter tracer. She was literally designed to singlehandedly kill dive, which was Winstion, D.va, Zarya Genji, Zen/Lucio and Mercy. The only teams that used Tracer in dive were the ones that didn't have a good genji or they had one of the top Tracer players. Tracer is used more often in Bunker comps and deathballs. That being said, I have no fucking idea how blizzard didn't think making a character that strong wouldn't blow the game balance right out the window. Brig actually pushed the game to that shitty sniper meta before we ran into goats and now she's being used in the Nu-Dive.

I played it in beta but didn't buy it because it bored me. I liked the random characters weekly brawl though. I hadn't heard or thought much about it since then, until a few weeks ago when it was reported that a $50m arena is being built in my home city for the overwatch esports league, what the actual fuck.
