This game most certainly existed and I most certainly played it.
That looks like what I expected it to, actually. It would have been something if they tried to replicate the console game on GBA though.
Maybe because I was a kid and just in love with Plinter Cell, but I remember the DS version of Chaos Theory being solid considering the hardware.
It was already challenging with a mouse
gba is a leader when it goes to weird "ports" (more like a completely different fucking game), nds is second. Though i like gba much more in that sense, ds always tried to do 3d which fucking sucked, they should have left that to psp which did ports really well.
I had prots like picrelated, max payne, gta, driver on gba.
What they were fucking thinking here
That SSX 3 port is exactly what I'm looking for. The Tony Hawk GBA games went the safe route and did top down sprites, SSX punches above it's weight and looks respectable doing it.
Yeah, the GBA was fascinating in the sense that it was it was interesting to see how they translated a lot of established 3d game into 2d
>respectable
It plays like garbage though, it was nice to play as a kid but man, the physics do no exist in that game. Everything is very clunky and janky, you go through walls, hills, when you should be jumping from a slope you got through it for some reason. Other than that, it's pretty good, despite also looking and sounding bad.
I also had most wanted and porsche unleashed nfs games
Always wanted to try the Game Boy Metal Gear.
Yeah, looks like the kind of thing I would have had buyers remorse with, but it's interesting to look at in retrospect.
As i said, it still is interesting to see on gba, plus there were no other handhelds at the time. When the psp was released (i had both psp and ds), i really wasn't interested in movie/ports on ds, cause they looked like fucking shit, who the fuck even bought those games on ds, they wre no better than what the gba had.
The DS wasn't all bad, it has a very good port of Resident Evil, it's an enhanced version of the PS1/Saturn original and for my money the best way to play it in the original syle as opposed to the REmake which is the best version overall.
Yeah, it's good.
Also, I haven't played it but the DS has a Ninja Gaiden game which looks faily ambitious.
This is probably the apex.

Yeah, but that game is made for ds originally and wasn't a cashgrab quick made "original "port", if you are talking about 3d games on ds, there were plenty good looking ones. Metroid prime, 4 heroes of light, wizard of oz, chinatown wars actually looks and plays better on ds than psp or other shit. I remember owning bionicle heroes on ds, even though it was mediocre, it still was close to console versions, gba one was even shittier compeltely different game and psp somehow didn;t have one.
I had duke nuked and ballistic, they also were pretty good shooters. Strange that gba had better and more shooters than fucking 3ds lol
Speaking of Ninja games on the DS family, I've only played a bit of it, but Shinobi on 3DS feels good. I need to get back to that sometime.
New entries are also valid for the thread.
>wizard of oz
Interesting. What was it like?

Dead or Alive on Xbox had a high resolution, smooth graphics, and one of the best ports of the game.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 on the Gameboy Advance is a legitimately good game. youtube.com
I only played it later and didn't play that much, but it's a weird jrpg with 3rd person overworld where you roll the ball in order to move dorothy who runs like sonic. And graphics look ebtter than ps1 i think.youtube.com
I'd argue Max Payne just for the fact that they adapted a very Mature game to a handheld largely played by small children. youtube.com
I have that game. The weirdest thing is that it came out in 2010, I would have loved it years earlier, but it was hard to go to after X2 on 360 had been out for years and Paradise was a shitty looking version with far less content.
Dimensions on 3DS was really good. it had the biggest roster with the bosses playable for the first time and the story recaped the whole series. 10/10 for doing the best with what the hardware allowed.
River city ransom ex
I liked this.
Max Payne on GBA qualifies. They managed to make a weird but great port.
Bump
This game is without doubt one of the most beautiful looking games at DS and with great soundtrack. Too game the game itself was mediocre, and it had great potentials.
Alpha 3 on GBA is amazing. It's seriously crazy how much content is packed in there and it actually plays decent.
From my favorite 3DS games. Too bad they never made another DOA game for 3DS or for Switch.
But they did
My bad. I meant an actual DOA game, not DOA Xtreme.
Not going for the bonus points, this shit was nigh unplayable

Nah this game was based
I remember the GB version of Eye of the Beholder. The battles transitioned to a tactical map
I had a lot of fun with this, one of the most replayable GB games and good for killing time on the bus
Maybe second part of it was slightly more playable by fixing stuff like incredibly slow battles. Still kinda angry about it as the flop of it made everyone assume that HoMM cannot work on handhelds and denied us a chance to have one on DS for example where it could be decent.
Now, I'd like to see someone defending this one
