Yep it’s pretty fuckin inconsistent - Just moved onto S-class difficulty which I remember being brutal on Wii U. Playing on PC at 60fps is much better

I fucking hated doing S-Rank. Not because it was difficult, but because it was tedious that I have to do the entire fucking campaign again for 1 extra star. Just let me do S-Rank from the fucking start. There's literally no reason for it to be locked out in this game other than forced replability.

Over the years I've still never been able to get every star in this game. The difficulty was unbelievable for the type of game this was.
Burning depths on the S rank was absolute hell and I remember getting my siblings to join the race just so there would be less AI racers cos they were such bs on that track.
Still easily the best kart racer ever made but I don't think I'll ever truly beat it. Gonna try it today actually since TSR is soon. But fuck burning depths
