When they're a major exclusive of the console as Simon and Trevor's games were, they are honorary and I think you know that. Megaman is the same way.

I'll never forget when I first started playing them in Smash and instinctively used up B when I meant to throw out a subweapon despite being familiar with Smash's mechanics for well over a decade at that point. Fun times.

They, K. Rool and Ridley carried Smash 5 for me. Everything after them has been shit and I regret picking the game up now that I'm done with them.

They prefer to use the first or most original character of a series. Simon Belmont is the first playable Castlevania character. Using a whip for a weapon also separates him from the rest of the sword users in Smash.
