Pretty good game that dosen't get talked about as much since Yea Forums can't really shitpost about it since it didn't get GOTY or split the fanbase
It's like Super Mario 64 if it finally adopted Banjo-Kazooie's open mission structure.
First good Mario platformer since Galaxy 1, but there's a bit too much cruft.
Amazing Graphics & Gameplay, mediocre everything else. Like BOTW it sets the perfect foundation for a far superior sequel
A really boring and forgettable game. Zero difficulty, maybe because it's intended for children.
Soulless, empty, boring, too easy, bloated, gimmicky
Galaxy 2 was a better overall game than Galaxy 1. Stronger level variety and a much more solid difficulty curve.
Galaxy 2 > Galaxy > 64 > 3D World > Sunshine > Odyssey
It's popular, has a good review score and youtubers like it so I hate it
>AMAZING graphics
user, please. literally looks like a ps2 good game, its great, but graphics are severely lacking, out style is also a little shit at times
This but swap Sunshine and Odyssey.
SOUL
>concept art that didn't look at all like final game
SOULLESS
>actual in game footage
Great movement, level design falls short with too much padded content, despite that its a good game.
The promotional art actually looks worse than 64's in game graphics.
btfo
I think that image looks great.
The dragon was kino but the rehash battles especially the final battle is very disappointing. Also why the fuck can't we play as Luigi
I think it would unironically be a better game if you get rid of the filler moons, because it diminishes the reward of doing actual challenges in the game.
One of the few games in history worthy of a 10/10 apparently
20 years later and they aren't even in the same ballpark of style. Instead we get sterile manufactured Fisher Price nsmb cancer
Better than the Galaxies. They're not as good as 64 or sunshine though.
Uncharted looks so out of place there.
> GTA IV
Doesn't deserve it, it's shit
> Divinity II
Not a CRPG fan, i defer to Yea Forums on this
> MGS5
Doesn't deserve it, it's shit
> Uncharted
Great Graphics, still a shit game so no
> BOTW
Amazing fundamentals, lacks Tradition. Doesn't deserve it
> Chrono Cross
Genuinly deserves it, just as good as Trigger
> Journey
Great game, but a walking simulator doesn't deserve a 10
> Odyssey
See Breath of the Wild, it doesn't deserve it
> The Witcher 3
Great Graphics, horrible gameplay & Mission Structure. Doesn't Deserve it
> Metal Gear Solid 4
Great Fanservice, Shit game it doesn't deserve it
> Ocarina of Time
Genuinely a masterpiece, easily a 10/10
> Bayonetta 2
Never played it, i defer to Yea Forums on this one
> SoulCalibur
Same as OOT, it genuinely deserves it
> Mario Galaxy 2
Lackluster final boss aside, it easily deserves a 10/10
whoever made this is far too generous with their 10s
Over 25 or so years? I think not.
I forgot how much dickriding MGS4 got when it came out.
>the worst MGS games by a large margin are the only 10s
hehe
no GTA, MGS, or Bayo game should come close to a 10. Several of those other titles are solid 9/9.5s, but miss the "perfect" mark.
As far as I'm concerned, the only fully qualified 10 is Starcraft Brood War. I can also understand Ocarina of Time, but even that is a measurable step below Brood War for me.
pretty lackluster but there's potential for a sequel
It gets really boring finding moons when they're easy as shit to find. The areas are nice but they could have been way bigger to have a better way of hiding moons. All the platforming was stupid easy. Overall it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.
Idk if this will make sense to anyone, but 3D Mario games have gotten progressively focused on spectacle than actual sandbox game design. Mario 64 had some spectacle, what with the very first star (for most folks) being a boss battle after a nearly complete guided tour of Bob-Omb Battlefield, but most of the game just kinda lets you explore and guess at what the goal of the specific level is. Sunshine, Galaxy, and Odyssey all do this thing where before you even control Mario, the camera swoops through the path the designers intend for you to take, or just straight up show you the goal of the level right at the start. What’s worse is that the path to that goal won’t involve the whole stage, but that specific path will be the only part of the stage that has anything particularly noteworthy going on in it. In other words you’re subtly railroaded from one goal to another and every 3D Mario since 64 has side-content that feels more like an afterthought compared to some of the “hidden” stars in 64.
Idk. I liked Sunshine, Galaxy 1 & 2, and Odyssey all a lot, but once I got to the credits in any of them I felt nothing compelling me to continue playing. With Mario 64, I’ve 120 star’d it several times and I still enjoy running around in the stages. It’s probably nostalgia.
Unironically soulless garbage
A good Mario game, but I think the Galaxy series are going to be very hard to surpass.
At least they made a very catchy music in this game:
Bubblaine was goat
>models that look like they were made out of melting clay
>models that are more detailed but lack human imperfection making them somewhat sterile looking
>melting clay models ar somehow better
At least admit they both look like shit nostalgiafag
It's no masterpiece.
>or split the fanbase
That's where you're wrong, kiddo.
Never played it cause I'm neither a fag, a woman nor a child, but I'm positive its trash like most nintendo games.
64 may be shit, but it's that good shit. Contextually it's a perfect game.
FUCK assholes who place their balloons out of bounds, or requires some fucking 760' corkscrew wallkick into jump cancel wall kick to reach. Bubblaine is the best map for coin grinding because of this, as most people just place their balloons up on the warp platform and that's very easy to reach.
