Same problem almost every open world seems to have.

Excessively big map with jack shit to do in them.

Not enough laylee lewds

This, when the game wanted to start expanding an already too big and too empty map it signed its own death.

The devs decided to make another Banjo Tooie when people actually wanted another Banjo Kazooie

Expansion mechanic was cool on paper, but they would've been better off making 10 unique worlds as opposed to 5 expandable ones. Minecart sections were also a mistake, and only existed to fill backer demand to a series completely unrelated to the one they were trying to reimagine.

Turns out that you need more than a celebrity composer to make a spritiual successor work, who would've thought.

Huge worlds filled with nothing. Granted that entertained back in the day but its a really outdated idea.

It captured both the good and the bad of 90's collect-a-thons and managed to capture the bad parts better

everything

No JonTron.

you mean yooka

1 enemy type
awful controls
boring overworld
level expansion

Took Banjo Tooie as a template and decided to flesh out it's worst aspects into 5 worlds and then inflate the problem further with the level expansion mechanic.

No Jon

god damn everything he said in this video was so fucking based

people were mad about this? most to all of what he said is very reasonable and solid

The fucking unity engine doomed it to garbage physics that will never match Mario 64, DK64, and both Banjo games

based

I don't really get the complaint about the levels being too big. You want them to stick a feather or pagie here for no reason other than to tickle your pleasure center? Not every game needs to reward you for breathing, like Odyssey did.

Yooka Laylee has its flaws yeah, but damn if it wasn't as fun as playing Banjo back in the day was. To be fair I played it recently after there were apparently QoL updates.

Go outside you cynical fucks.

Jon acting like a mature adult and wishing them well despite Playtonic throwing him under the bus.

That low key cursed the game and the dev team.

It’s not that it’s open world with nothing, it’s an open world that doesn’t reward you for exploring like the past games did

Wasn't that ultimately Team17's doing

As always nostalgiafags

it's a very low budget Tooie

the budget certainly got stretched thin across all the platforms. Who the fuck bought this on Mac and Linux?

This. 10 small, unique and dense worlds would have been a much better option.

Plenty of Unity games control fine, it's not the engine, it's the developer.

I honestly had no idea the developers of worms had anything to do with this game until today

It's basically build once, export to all with Unity. There isn't a lot you have to do besides minor bug fixes and testing.

Unity. Ugly. Empty. Incomplete.

He said absolutely nothing wrong and never should have apologized or stopped talking about these things. That's how the left win: by shaming you into being quiet, not by bringing any actual counterarguments to the table.

I've not played the game but I did see one video of it. The video that I saw was a Casino like level.

As I watched it my biggest concern was that the area was fuck huge with nothing in it. The place seemed way too big for the content it provided. If the guy playing didn't have that skill to roll around jesus christ

Maybe that was fixed? I'm not sure if I was watching an early release of it or not

>Why don't you denounce all the communists in your movement?
Surprisingly fitting.
