Literally how? Tetris 99 is a masterpiece. Pretty sure you just don't understand how the game works if you think that. Like the more players you have targeting you the more junk you drop on them, so like if you have five people on you, you're going to kill them far easier than they're going to kill you, the only thing stopping you is if one or more of the players are significantly better. You can also try to shake off players by chaning your targeting priorities, like some people are only going for you because they set it to return fire at attackers.

Not necessary but tspins naturally drop more garbage than a regular line clear of the same type.
I've won without it but you should at least recognize how to set up a tspin double because it's very simple.

Sometimes when you're getting dumped on by someone, if you switch off them they'll stop attacking you since they have it set to attacker and maybe have a bunch of others and are getting that big bonus.

tetris is bad as multiplayer game but it's fair - don't expect being able to win vs people who can stack extra 0.5 of a piece every second

with T spins I KO a bunch of people but If I just stack quickly I get to top 20

it's when you take advantage of the way rotation works to force a T-piece into a hole it wouldn't normally fit.
it's not absolutely necessary, but it doesn't hurt to learn it, a T-spin double sends as much garbage as a Tetris iirc, while requiring less than half the pieces to set up

Gotta love how after a full 4 wide combo you always end up with at least 2 easy KOs. You don't even need to center it since if you target attackers literally nobody is gonna bother you.
