yes you do. all mobage faggots like to pretend the ingame currency you get is enough, but then suddenly a new unit releases, you spend all your saved up currency, and you still don't get them. that's when you drop that $50 or however much to ensure you don't miss the opportunity before the rates return to normal. then this same process repeats over and over and over until you're 1k deep and finally realize how much of a retard you've been.

They're way too weak, especially post-game, making training for Kanto and Red or catching any new Pokémon and catching them up to speed with the rest of your team a massive pain in the butt. Beyond the levels, there's also a distribution problem where a lot of gen 2 Pokémon are stuck in late or post-game for little to no reasons, and for some reason HGSS didn't even try to address these problems.
