Honestly I can't really speak to the quality of World War Z since I didn't even remember it existed till this thread but I feel like there's a distinct difference between some usual tie-in shit made to come out right with a movie, and something that's been made 13 years after the book and six years after the movie.

Initially I thought it's a licensed garbage. Then I found gameplay. Then I found opinions. This may be legitimate successor of L4D or at least it may bring some fun. Game looks solid, hordes look amazing. I just hope they will not fuck it up with progression system too grindy.

We managed to clear our schedules for a Friday and Saturday gaming session at my buddy's house, beer, snacks and weed are ready in advance. All that remains is to pick up food from Dick’s Drive-In.

Timeshift was fine. Heck even the original Xbox 360 demo was decently fun. What it turned into was at least innovative considering almost no one has messed with time mechanics in an FPS since. I got it from Gamestop for like $5

Iirc in L4D2 concept art they toyed around with the idea of a screamer where it was an infected in a straight jacket that ran around screaming that would summon a horde until it got killed but they didnt put it in cus they thought it would be busted

The screamer was cut content for left 4 dead that eventually became the boomer since having a horde attractor that called from a distance and also ran away from you was unsatisfying as hell to actually fight. Cars are stationary and obvious and the boomer has to close the distance with you.

Consider how tepid everyone was on Doom's multiplayer.
So they cobble together what they can spare in-house and get some other studio to provide some more muscle to make something they can put out.
