His computer+monitor costs more than $700

>His computer+monitor costs more than $700
If you are playing in 1080p then there is ZERO excuse to have paid more than this.

>75hz
lol, poorfag

this rig is actually powerful enough to use a 144hz monitor, and maybe even 1440p. I assume OP just wanted a budget build.

I haven't gone below 1440p/144hz in years you utmost peasant

>If you are playing in 1080p

Does pc part picker take into account case size?

I want a noctua15 fan in my new system but i want to make sure there's clearance

I'll need low profile ram either way

>amd

sauce on image?

my monitor alone was 500$ gotta have 4k 32 inches and the accurate of colors

pc was 1600$

If you're serious, check out Neon Genesis Evangelion. It's a great, yet flawed, anime.

>Full blown idort
>Decide to upgrade to laptop for $2200
>Comes with RGB Keyboard, Gsync 144hz screen, actual 1080 desktop card, i7 4.1 ghz, and 16g ram (I'll upgrade it to 64gig later this year most likely).
>PC only friend goes full autism and tries to build me a Desktop instead
>Literally can't keep the same specs for under $2200 because he doesn't want to factor in that I want good brand parts, a 144hz monitor, and at least 4.0 ghz processor
>Gets mad that I want a Laptop instead

I'm not going to spend $600 every 3 years on a new card like a turbo nerd. I have next gen consoles and VR headsets to buy also. I'd rather drop $2200 and get the full 144hz experience on PC than nit picking part upgrades over the next few years.

I was going to spend $4000, but honestly PC is my least played on platform and I travel. Asus laptops are pretty sweet tho, friend has one and it's been solid for years.

(You)

Thanks dude.

You sound like a fag and your friend sounds based

I mean, in 3 or 4 years when you need to upgrade you're gonna have to buy an entire laptop rather than just a card or cpu

You sound based and your friend sounds like a fag

How's Salt Lake City, Ryan? Played any good Magic the Gathering matches lately? It must be pretty hard to find copies of Atraxa, Praetors' Voice for your Breed Lethality deck, i bet.

>3 to 4 years

Do you honestly feel PC games have pushed the limit in the past 3 to 4 years?

Do you feel like I'll need more than a 1080 and 4.0ghz 6 core in 3 to 4 years?

I might have to drop from Ultra to High.

>1440p/144hz
for what purpose

Wrong time frame, but still. If I spent more money than you for the same specs, I'm saving money later on when it comes time to upgrade our machines.

Fuck you trying to doxx me I know exactly who this is and I'm gonna fuck you in the ass and beat you to death

faggot, your username is on the pc part picker page

No the same user but
>he confirmed it.
What a dumb ass.

>using a $700 graphics card and $400 cpu to play in 1080p
Is this bait?

I wasn't happy with the prices of the parts I wanted and I didn't want a "Starter" budget pc setup. I'd rather hold onto some of my $4,000 budget and use it in a few years on a better desktop rig.

There isn't any games out there where I want to push the envelope on currently. I'm really hoping PC gaming gets more graphics intensive down the road, consoles have really closed the gap lately.

You dropped the processor down quite a bit from 6 cores to 4, but otherwise kudos. That's actually pretty sweet setup.

I still prefer spending a bit more for portability and having proprietary Asus software to keep shit up to date.

Yeah now I'm just pissed that I couldn't get my pirated copy of Horizon to work

That wasn't me and I don't play Magic the Gathering. After googling my username I found out that someone else has the same one, which is surprising because when I chose it I just put random numbers after my name

>Bought 2 monitors a couple years ago thinking they were 144hz since that's what I searched for
>They're 60hz
What's a good 120/144hz monitor? The ones I have are 1080 too which kind of sucks but I'd prefer of both screens were the same res.

suuuure buddy

Gurren Lagann

Is it possible for a budget (under 1000) PC to play todays games at max settings? I'm completely ignorant of PC parts and new to PC gaming itself.

yes, literally click on the link in the OP.

I'm just afraid of getting trolled. I've seen a few /g/ posts and I don't wanna blow my cash on a meme or something.

A 580 isn't maxing shit. It's barely better than a 970 and that's already starting to show its age if you're trying to do max settings at 60FPS.

Unless you really need to game on the go then there's no point in getting a laptop. Your old parts can be sold or used in other PCs.

>AMD

Nothing wrong with it but I've gotten solid performance from Intel/nVidia for years and don't plan to switch it up now.

For $1000 though you can still get a solid build with a 1660ti and i5 9600k.

>54 USD for a fucking PC case
o-ok

It doesn't. Best to check reviews of the case you want on various sites, usually people will post about popular fans fitting or not fitting.

RX580 will do plenty of new games maxed at 60fps. 144fps, not so much

>tfw have i7 7700 but rx 570
my cpu is keeping this whole thing together

but I want an IPS panel

It seems to, yes.

the monitor in the build is IPS you nigger

1660ti - $280+
i5 9600k - $265
MOBO - ~$150
Case - ~$100
16GB DDR4 RAM - ~$100
550W PSU - ~$60

Leaves some wiggle room under $1000 for a nicer MOBO or GPU. Or just accounts for taxes.

Nuke every Indian chinese and turbo autist muttmericans posting on this thread and the few anglo Poor's playing with chinks PC bough from ebay

it has to be 144hz ofc

it's 2019, I thought that should go without saying

Oh, sorry, add like $60-100 for an HDD or SSD. That's how I landed at $1000. Forgot.

everything listed in the build is available new from retailers at that price. Stop coping just cause you overpaid for a PC

I went for 4k@60 because I don't play AAA or "competitive" garbage, and also watch a lot of movies.

144hz IPS monitors are not widely commercially available. Wait like a year and they should become more common and cheaper.

I got one but it was 350 euroshekels

for 1080p?

yeah

lol

I will be stuck with this setup for some time and I honestly don't mind it.

I want 144hz and decent colors. My old 144hz was super fast but it looked like ass. I'm actually pretty happy with my purchase.

does a 27 inch 1440p monitor look any sharper than a 24 inch 1080p monitor or does the extra size cancel it out?

thats not a real computer though, might as well stick to consoles and phones

Does Asuka work for gamestop?

i sure love paying intel and nvidia fee

I had one for awhile, the difference is small but noticeable, especially on text.

No I got a p300 and a seasonic PSU that doesn’t fit with the cords attaches

why even fell for the raytracing meme?

I have been using the same monitor and keyboard since 2009

based

Seems good, except for the RAM, ram is ram, you only need a reliable brand, the speed of it it's almost irrelevant, you could put the saved money of it on a better place.

>I'm not going to spend $600 every 3 years on a new card like a turbo nerd.
Don't worry, now you'll have to spend another $2,000 to update all of your outdated equipment instead of just a single component.

It cost a bit more than that, but I built it in like 2012.

>Refresh Rate 75 Hz
oh lawd

For me it was the same price as a 1080ti so why not
