Bullshit, most the length of the main quest in Ocarina comes from backtracking and walking around aimlessly, even then BotW takes more time and you can check Hltb yourself to confirm that.

man I dont know what the fuck you guys are talking about in this thread but the foundation laid by BoTW can make for an absolutely incredible sequel if nintendo plays it correctly.

This. I like the game a lot, but it still had a lot of stuff that could have been improved, although that could easily be chalked up to the game being stuck in development hell for so long. Now that they have the groundworks for an open world Zelda laid out, I'm hoping they'll give us a more fleshed out game with better content.

There's a balance between having an overly linear game that hand holds you the entire time and overly open game with nearly nothing to do.

I don't really mind the cel shading, it's the horrible lack of contrast that bothers me. Everything looks so washed out, like it's behind a gray fog filter.

Hopefully they give us some real dungeons in the sequel but keep the new design where puzzles feel more "free form" and movement throughout the environment is open like it was in BoTW. I think it would be a refreshing change compared to the traditional puzzles and dungeon traversal of the old games.

How bad are you at video games that you need to "backtrack" and "walk around aimlessly" in fucking Ocarina of Time? When I say main quest I mean main quest. Dungeons and everything it takes to get there, not the player dicking around because they're retarded. And "walking around aimlessly" is an ironic complaint considering you're comparing it to BotW.

I played both games myself, I don't need to confirm shit. Ocarina of Time has 9 dungeons, BotW has 5 (arguably). And it's not like the divine beasts are long, they're short as fuck, about the average length of one OoT dungeon (at least for me, HLTB is hardly objective either).

It's weird you're arguing this because I'm pretty sure it was widely agreed even by BotW lovers that the game's main quest is lackluster and you play the game for everything else.
