There's no rules, you can crazy shit like rob people in towns and assassinate them while they are going through their things in a bank.

I tried playing it again but just felt disappointed with all the changes. Cash shop selling armor, all the ridiculous shit on player's paperdolls, boring grinding quests. And it just feels dead, don't see many people now.

I'm hoping a virtual reality MMO comes out at some point that will be like UO at its peak.

They do, actually. Mostly PvM events.

Yeah pretty much. There are noob-friendly servers that have non-PvP areas but there just aren't many people playing them.

The official UO shards have a free to play mode now, but you're restricted to not being able to have a house or store items in the bank.

SotA was an obvious cash grab and plays like shit. I played the tutorial for a while and they forced you to use the archer because it was the least worst class.
