A few years back I was trying to play through all of Ultima games, but stopped at 6 because of this ugly, absurd isometric perspective they started using. I'll get back to it eventually, I know 6 and 7 are good games

No. Ultima 7 is pretty much an unusual adventure game with some RPG elements and tons of environmental interactivity. The combat is trash but the quest design is wonderful.

I have, yeah. Haven't finished it yet, though, got a little bored around the Phantom Forest because it was a little samey.

Imagine if they turned the "camera" 45 degrees on Ultima 7. It would look so much better. Trees and characters would point up instead of having this awkward angle to everything.
