Nuclear Throne was cooler but never fucking updated.

I bought it and Nuclear Throne at around the same time. I got way more play time out of Nuclear Throne.

I did, in fact i was one of the first people to 100% the game back when it didn't have any add on updates.

Great fucking game that i played way too much of.

I never understood why people preferred it besides the visual style, 1/8th of the content and can be beaten in 10 minutes.

I got burnt out after 40 ish hours. Didn't unlock Gunslinger, have a few missing people from the Breach, and never killed RR or visited the fourth hidden level and have some miscellaneous challenges left too.
Will probably play it again in a year or two and wrap it up.

I beat like 5 floors then got bored and quit.
An absolute nothing game, entirely revolves around RNG and is completely brainless.
Shoot, dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot, dodge. Once you've beaten one boss you've seen everything the game has to show you.

What I really don't like about Gungeon is that you have to spend multiple runs to unlock actually fun shit. It used to be even worse before synergies in that regard.

Yeah I was lucky enough to have some bogus items for the second phase, after that you have to win 3 rounds of punchout with the rat to get all the keys for his shit.

You unlock stuff constantly though, what's the incentive to even play if everything is immediately available.

you can also just console command unlock everything/spawn whatever you want if you really enjoy not working towards anything

if I iirc correctly I entered the fight with like 2.5 hearts and was already mad at myself and tilted for not dodging anything in the sewers because I was going full retard at the time and I got him to like 33% in p2 before dying because I was trying to be too greedy. It's the curse of using Patriot on bosses like that.

Dude the game is easy, especially by bullet hell standards. It's just boring as shit. If you're enough of a brainlet to find a million gun puns funny maybe there's some enjoyment to be had otherwise it's just mediocre garbage.

The game peaked for me near the beginning when I didn't know what items did. I had the pig item and was about to beat dragun for the first time before I died. That cutscene was insane to watch after feeling like I lost when I was so close.
