The shorter question is: What went right?
the 3 lanes/boards concept is retarded game design for a card game. they tried a dumb gimmick to show they weren't just cloning hearthstone/mtgo
i like the art.
i am also convinced this is the product of some probability genius at work. i am absolutely dog shit at these games but it always seemed that games would often come down to impending victories for both sides in 1 or 2 turns.
i am convinced some honest to god 200 iq genius planned this aspect of it with all the random deployments of creeps and attack orders/card draws. its far too common in every game I've played and witnessed to be a fluke. Its very rare to see somebody outright rape a player with no hope of victory outside some insane matchups.
great sound design, production value and quality
but you can only polish a turd so much
are they still going to have a 10 million dollar tournament?
Can you delete this obnoxious le epic got em image and just post the normal steam charts one? Thanks
The rng is pretty much there to do that, they've said as much.
The problem is they went overboard with not including complex cards and as a result there isn't really much interesting you can do gameplay wise but at the same time just keeping track of all the shit is still a headache anyway.
It's 50% worse
>literally 162 players
lmao can't wait when Epic destroys steam.
I'll never understand how # of people playing this game reflects on Steam but I'm sure it makes sense to you somehow.
Calm down Chang.
Honestly, Steam drones, has Valve made anything successful in the past few years?
>Steam machines? Flop
>Steam controllers? Flop
>SteamOS? Flop
>Steam Link? Flop
>Shartifact? You better believe that was a flop
>Source 2? Not even made to even be a flop
>Steam Videos? Flop
>Steam VR? Fired devs
Literally the only money they have is from rent controlling other peoples games like a corrupt landlord, and that's gonna end soon.
I'm hoping the rerelease will spice up the game. It wasn't all bad and it seemed very polished. But the games were too long to hold the attention of the average user and valve knew better than to avoid skinner box bullshit off the bat to hook retards over from hearthstone/every other virtual card game.
I mean I played games with 50 people just fine but this is a game that was meant to be competing with hearthstone. It's so funny how out of touch Valve is and they need a wake up call. Imagine they stealth patch the shartifact board from the Dota 2 fountain because this game is such a disaster.
They charged money for everything, in a genre where people are accustomed to free to play.
Players really didn't like the pay model and the base set was too basic.
>this stale pasta again
Get some new material already, faggot.
Valve right now is so uninspiring the only strides they seem to have made is more payment processors but almost every other aspect is don't care.
They also only hire ultra experienced people basically people who are experienced and want a comfy job.
most people don't even give a shit about this game

no
I haven't even played this shit but i feel 100% qualified on this topic
a) Hafu said it wasn't very stream friendly and i'd agree, in 2019 how your game markets is important and having 3 boards is hard to follow. Compare LoL (fixed camera) to Overwatch and look at how hard it is to follow the action.
b) Modern game design is all about lowering the skill ceiling so high skill players don't dominate. The intention is to introduce so much RNG so even low skill players can win instead of every match being a stomp. Both HS and Overwatch are perfect examples of this, you have cooldowns and caps on damage and ultimates so even shitters can win and get that rush, at which point they'll buy garbage.
monetization and lack of competitive mode.
well if they added some cards and went with the all cards are free idea, there's a chance I'd say
the economy focus was a mistake
