Go with standard grid for the first time.
Make sure you grind in each area not just for exp but for the items as well.
Speak to everyone, most npcs will just give you stuff for free.
Depending on who your waifu is, make sure to always talk to them first when you get the chance. It effects a few cutscenes.
Learn Blitzball, don't fail in the tournament.
emulate it, the HD version is really awful
It's a little tedious, but you can level up each character by just pressing triangle to "guard." As long as a party member does an action on their turn during battle, they gain ALL xp throughout the fight.
Lulu is one of your strongest members if you do this
do NOT fucking bother with the post game
auron dies
tidus isn't real
he's just a dream
Speak to some people at least 3 times, some items they give you on the second or third dialog. (If you really care about the story, they may have interesting things to say)
hd version lets you speed up and increse or disable encounters tho
How come?
get yourself a guide, it's impossible to find everything without it
don't play ffx-2
Best team is tidus wakka rikku tho
That's only on PC.
>last story boss is at like level 40
>like 15+ superbosses that require level 100 to even stand a chance again
>no place to grind
>auron dies
He's already dead when the game begins.
yeah my bad i havent played it since it released
Oh I'm sorry, what console are you emulating on?
Only due to the fact they are the only 3 that can fight under water. It feels really empty to not let the others grind up.
Plus, Auron is just plain great. And Lulu is my favorite so I never miss a chance to level her up
>no place to grind
They literally made an arena for you to grind whatever you want...
So wtf was Square thinking when they made this choice? There isn't even a fast forward option on PS4. Damn bro, I usually do all the quest in FF games, too.
When you access blitzball on save spheres, play it until you can get attack reels, then get attack reels, and never touch it again. Takes like 3-4 hours tops, resetting because of bullshit like luca goers getting the ball and scoring on you while you can do LITERALLY nothing against it, included.
yeah and it stops giving anything even close to a decent amount of experience 25 minutes after getting there. unless you want to sit there and grind for 800+ hours you'll just cheese the bosses with yojimbo
I'm playing the PS4 remaster. I was going to get the Switch version but it's just the Vita version with nothing new.
>ffx
>levels
are you retarded?
>don tonberry
>overdrive to AP
>triple AP
>set everyone to comrade
bam literally just capped your AP in like 30 minutes.
I'm not talking about main game tho
its easier to refer to them as levels than retard orbs that give you +1 str every 400 fights
>not using overdrive>ap, triple overdrive, and triple ap on your weapon to max level instantly
There is a cap on how much xp is required, so it isnt that bad
GET THE DESTRUCTION SPHERE ITEM IN BEVELLE
You don't know it but you need all destruction sphere items to gain a summon but Bevelle is the only one you can't go back to. Meaning if you miss it you also miss out on 2 summons and Yuna's ultimate weapon
You can get hundreds of s.lvls and whatever other item you need in minutes if you know what you're doing. Maybe don't speak on things you aren't familiar with.
do you think his sword gets more fizzy if he shakes it?
Kimahri will turn you gay.
>using Kimahri
It isn't unobtainable if you accidentally skip it, but if you're playing the HD version then there's an obstacle in the way when you try to go back.
Basically it isn't completely skippable, but it'll be a LONG while until you can go back
>not using monster cock blue mage
Go away Yenke and Biran
Literally better than auron.
HORNLESS
>but it'll be a LONG while until you can go back
Speaking of this finish any business you have on Besaid Island as early as you can. Because later the game decides to plop a super boss at the front door that'll fuck you up if you aren't prepared for it
I used to think Rikku and Kimahri was trash. But I also only used Auron, Lulu and Tidus like a retard.
There is no dark aeon blocking bevelle tho, you just can't get there anymore. Also the dark aeons aren't anything new to hd remake
You literally cannot miss the destruction sphere item in Bevelle
You need the destruction sphere to finish the cloister at all and the treasure associated with it blocks the path forward until you open it
There's a different treasure chest elsewhere that is missable but it only has a weapon for Kimahri and isn't associated with the destruction sphere at all
Why does everyone get this wrong
Yeah that's the obstacle I'm talking about. I know it's pointless but trying to not spoil as much as possible.
Basically, when you go to leave Besaid for the first time, go back into the village. There is at least one secret thing you can get BEFORE you leave the island for good
USE BIO
>what are the omega ruins
I was looking up how to get the ultimate weapons, and holy shit this looks dreadful. Is there any easier way to go about it or am I just boned?
My bad user I misread Bevelle as Besaid in your first post. However, they are kind of new because they were not in the North American version, at least not the original. Some people never experienced them
for some reason i have flashbacks of dark anima whenever i hear of ffx
Grind before you climb the Ronso mountain or your meaningless existence ends quickly.
gameshark
only one that's a real pain in the ass is Lulus, and maybe Wakkas if you hate Blitzball
Not really. There is SORT OF a way to make Lulu's easier, but not by much
If you can get anyone to learn Steal around Killika, do so. You can pick up a lot of items much earlier than intended.
wakka rikku auron*
>no place to grind
there are even weapons to give more exp to power level
>require level
stop right there. There are like two or three bosses in the whole game that cannot be beaten with completely unleveled party
PS4 doesn't have that desu.
This. I always underestimate the mountain
However I usually use Lulu as a reference, and make sure she knows all of the "aga" moves before I leave the desert
boned it is then
So are there any "just as good" runner up weapons instead?
The ultimate weapons are necessarily not always the best, especially when talking about post game stuff
Is it
>Thai-dus
or
>Tea-dus
tee-dus
Kinda but not really. The Ultimate Weapons have a unique property specific to them (I think it's just extra damage based on hp)
You can get a good weapon for Lulu tho very late in the game at a shop. Basically her weapon has Double MP (which doubles her spell power) and One MP Cost (obvious)
You CAN apply these to weapons, but they wont be as good as the ultimate
Currently Teedus
make sure to check every corner for items, some missed stuff you will regret later
like vaelfors second limit in besaid :-DDDDDDD
>"lets pronounce names the "Latin way" instead of what it should more commonly sound like."
Like I mentioned earlier, it depends. For lulu that's okay, but the hp based damage is bad for everyone else. If you have less than full hp then you do less damage than normally so not worth it. Just do your own weapon with attack+ and break damage and whatever you want with it, such as auto life and/or init for example
Break Damage Limit isn't as hard as it sounds to apply. Break Hp Limit however....
I could be wrong so please don't flame me, but I'm pretty sure the Hp thing is solely a bonus. As in I don't think you do less damage at low health.
I'm basing this off of my gameplay experience, however
>>no place to grind
What is cactuar farming desert?
In order to do this, don't fail the blitzball qte on the boat, and it'll be a lot easier.
>try the shot
>get one punch in
>second punch knocks out goalie
>Tidus becomes a blender
>OH BOY HERE WE GO IM GONNA SCORE
>screen fades to black
Everytime
Prepare for disappointment.
YOU CAN'T DO IT KID
I'M THE BEST
That's right, however hp limit doesn't come with weapons but armor instead. Or do I remember incorrectly?
This is from the wiki so take it with a grain of salt, they also have the formula there which gives this:
>Aside from ignoring Defense, Celestial Weapons are not more powerful than a normal weapon; at full HP/MP, they do the same damage as a normal weapon would if the enemy had 0 Defense. However, Auron is an exception as his Masamune does 100% damage at 70% of his max HP, and as he drops further the weapon exceeds 100% damage. For anyone else, full HP is 100% damage, 1 HP is about 9.1% damage.
*slaps your gfs arse*
*bwoing* *click* yoooo
*gf dissappears from existence*
You're correct on the hp limit I was just having horrible flashbacks of wishing I could see those numbers go past 9999
>fails 80% of the time
just get lucky then m8
>aurochs apparently beat the al bhed psyches in the first round without any trouble
>actually go up against the psyches in blitzball afterwards
>their stats are fucking ridiculous and almost all of their players are the very best at what they specialize in
It literally shouldn't be possible for Wakka or Datto to score against Nimrook at that point
Do not listen to looser like this. Most of the post game is digestible beside the ultimate boss.
Don't be a cheapskate jew
Its all a dream and youre dad is a sin.
tide-us
because fucking water, jesus
Small, hornless Ronso no good for protecting summoner.
Pitiful Ronso.
>succeeds 80% of the time even without having to give money
you just did shit choises. What you tell him affects how often what moves happen. If you do correct choises his affection will be higher and he will give you better movesm, whihc also increase affection to the point he does zanmato on summoning without having to give money. Do shit choises and he will have low affection, thus doing often the dog attack which is lowest and decreases affection
WHAT'S OUR GOAL?!
they were never in any NA release until remaster. Only europe got international in english.
based esl
Thank you for the thread, lads. Been a while since I've been able to even slightly discuss a game I like on this board
i'm overdue for a replay. prepare for an adventure like you've never experienced before in your life OP, cherish every last moment
Don't abuse Summon Girl(yuna) as fight character
Blitzball fucking sucks.
I will always stand by this argument, regardless of what some irrelevant jap tries to say it was supposed to be. Plus teedus sounds fucking stupid.
I used to play FFX to exclusively play Blitzball.
totally not Al-Bhed
Never ever touch the standard grid for any reason
Hold off on leveling for a little while, have Tidus and Wakka head into Auron's grid path to snag some delicious STR and HP early on. Also use the STR sphere from the tournament here
If you want, have Yuna head down this path as well. Her stats scale really well with Aeons, and by leveling STR they will become rape machines very early
One last tip for you OP if you're still here.
You'll at some point gain the ability to manually raise your Aeon's stats by using some items. Do not do this. It's a waste. The aeons are fine on their own. If you want to give them new attacks that's acceptable, but in reality you could use the items it takes for your own benefit (or at least sell them for the extra gil)
This. Also ffx is my favorite ff game, but it's just impossible to talk about because whenever you mention this game it will immidietly get derailed by someone saying that something else is a better game
I juggle back and forth between 9 and 10, but I love talking about them regardless
>not pronouncing it Tit-dus
>goddes tier midriff
>high evasion coupled with spamming evasion spells
>can heal herself with blizzaga if someone manages to hurt her with spells
You can cheese blitzball by hiding behind your goalie when you get the ball
Yuna's summons draw their stats from Yuna herself (and amplifies it).
So while you may be thinking "white mage weak, go for magic", you actually want to grow her stats along Auron's grid at some point for those mad +4 strengths, which become like +20 or something for Bahamut.
Make sure each party member takes an action in battles, even if its just simply defending once.
EXP isn't split, but only party members who participate in battle get any, so its more efficient to do this so that the party as a whole gets more EXP from each battle
Man if i had only fucking knew this long ago...
>summon him
>uses wakizashi for free
>wastes turn
>dies
I just wanted to zanmato
play a better final fantasy. alternatively abuse haste and quick hit
I wonder if her tummy tastes like ice cream
would be funny if your tongue got stuck because it's so cold haha
Pick the original soundtrack, the remastered one fucking sucks.
I want my tongue stuck somewhere else
Did this my last playthrough, and planning to do it when i get the Switch version. It helps you get out of some situations with characters you might not have bothered with.
>not Anima's toothy cooter
>no place to grind
Did you even find the Omega Ruins or do the Monster Arena?
>get anima before fighting seymour for the last time
>tell him you fucked his mother
Don't forget to save all of legoman's Lulu drawings.
>Make sure you grind
NO.
You do not need to grind to beat a FF game.
I bet his virgin of a father couldn't even make her Oblivion all over his face with his weak tongue skills
>thought he is the silent stronk wandering warrior type with some deep profound reason to stick around Yuna
>turns out he just got his ass beat at home and was too proud to admit it
Illusions shattered.
recruit brother in blitzball and make him your MF if you want to win every game easily
Kinda relevant
youtube.com
That low quality visual / audio takes me back.
>tfw you beat the Luca Goers in the tournament without using the Jecht Special
>being a jew
Omega ruins would work?
What's the best Blitzball team to have if I went through the main story without touching it, so all the Blitz players are at level 1 still? I know about Nimrook being the best goalie.
Get Brother and the rest don't matter because Tidus + Brother can beat pretty much team alone once they've levelled up a bit.
You'll need to play a number of games to increase your scout level before you're even allowed to recruit other players
Not ONE mention of Penance. Wasn't really challenging so much as it was just tedious to sit there for about 45 minutes. I was really disappointed that they only gave the damn thing like 3 attacks TOTAL though...I mean cmon. He would just use the same attack, over and over...Disintegration or Immolation or whatever. His ultimate, guaranteed game over attack, Judgement Day was pretty cool though.
I've already got some new players, like Wedge, Rin and Brother.
Rikku will seem like shit when your first get her, but her use ability is beyond broken and will make emend game fights easy
I mean all you need to beat dark aeons is auto life. I love the game and currently I'm on the path to defeat all the super bosses once again, but the game lost some of its magic once you know how to exploit the whole game. I beat some dark aeons on ps2 as a kid but never did them all
Don't try and get the celestial weapons unless you're really, really, really autistic.
It's the latter, but I will continue calling him Tide-us until the day I die, even if I have to erase his name at the naming screen and write "Tidus" in its place.
For the most part just level them up and you'll be fine. If Tidus learns Jeckt shot on the boat by completeing the qte that alone will be enough to beat most teams
rikku's the best
some are really easy to get, some not
It’s not all a dream and they tell you Jecht is Sin like 2 hours in
>If Tidus learns Jeckt shot on the boat by completeing the qte that alone will be enough to beat most teams
I have that.
Save editor-san
dark anima was fucking ridiculous
Score one goal then hide behind your own goalie until time runs out
Did the HD remaster add the option to skip cut scenes?
>was thought to be impossible to beat on no sphere grid run (without zanmato) but some mad lad actually did it
Only known instance iirc youtube.com
>Go with standard grid for the first time.
Terrible advice, this shit ruined my first play through
No. If you play the PC version you can install UnX, that makes it a bit more bearable.
>remaster gives you the option to speed up the game and even stop random encounters
>cutscenes are still unskippable and play normal speed only
ALLOW KIMAHRI TO DIE
Okay, good to know. I just remember getting shit on by the Yunalesca fight and having to watch the cutscene repeatedly.
NOW THIS IS IT
THIS IS YOUR TIME TO CHOOSE
What a champ.
Don't level the furry. It's a waste of time
This does work, but your experience is based on actions taken, and a few teams (the al bhed psyches/ronso fangs (EN)) get crazy stats a few seasons in, which can be hard to deal with if you dont have the HP for a couple of jecht shots at least.
It is the quickest way to grind BB if all you care about is wakkas weapon, but you can get super unlucky and cucked out of tournaments which means playing a minimum of 4 extra games.
If all you care about is the weapons, I recommend still beating up on a few weaker teams to get some levels on tidus and your MF (preferably brother)
Also keep a note of how many battles youve fought since your last overdrive, you dont want to end up playing a whole extra season because you were a few battles short of the 200 you need to make the next one available
Dont miss any of the temple treasures or you'll be cockblocked by Dark Aeons.
wakka is based, use him
kimahri a shit
This unless your on a penance no zanmato playthrough.
Because everyone can learn every spell the quality of late game overdrives is all that separates the characters except for yuna
Summoner tier:
Yuna
Good tier:
Wakka
Tidus
Rikku
Shit Tier:
Everyone else
This. Tidus wakka rikku is the best party, also yuna for summoning but I tend to not use aeons anymore because I feel like I'm cheating then.
>Any tips or tricks I should know about?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
HAA HAA HAA HAA HAA
Grinding even a bit absolutely breaks this game.
Don't grind it destroys the balance to the point it's not fun just tedious.
dont bank too much on kimahri, but move him in to get steal/use when able and then just take him through auron or yuna's grid depending on preference.
>Any tips or tricks I should know about?
yes, uninstall it and save yourself some time from a absolute shit game.
save your time by not replying in a thread about a shit game too then
Hi. I'm just stopping by in this fine FFX thread to say Anima is the most based summon in the whole series.
Anima is love. Praise Anima
reminds me of an LP of X I saw where the guys summoned Seymour (that they named "Your Mom") and she oneshot the final Seymour fight
Kimahri's only mandatory fight in the game is based off of his level so it not difficult to win because you definitely want to bench him and just use him to get easy access to Ultima with teleport spheres.
Emulator allows you to speed things up even more provided you have a decent processor.
Blitzball is the worst mini game of all time.
kill all bheds
FUCK AL BHEDS YAH
Tidus. Get the Blitzball.
*Break*
Doot Doot Doot Doot Do Doooo
