I think that one was from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga. I'd ask if Nintendo wasn't providing them new clips but clearly they have been. I don't fucking get why they like to mix and match them. It's so jarring and obvious. Especially when they're clearly voiced by completely different people.

I don't know, it's weird. I know that they recorded new lines for Yoshi in Galaxy 2, but the only other place I've heard them being used is Odyssey. Even if they mixed them together with his Yoshi's Story voice in other games it'd be nice just so it's a little different, but I don't know, they really seem to like those voice clips.

I was playing Crafted World, and there's this part where Yoshi is sitting at a bus stop and hums the theme song of the game, so obviously they're not completely against recording new voice clips. It's just they don't seem to like to use them beyond one or two games.

Just to be on-topic, I feel like the re-used "Luigi" voice clips is more a result of Camelot later on deciding they wanted Mario to call out Luigi's name after they'd already had Charles record lines for the thing, and just went with the cheaper option of re-using an old voice clip. I like the video, but it screams low budget and judging by Mario's mouth animations, it looks like something that was tacked on last second.

You mean Yoshi's Story. Yoshi doesn't sound like a record player anymore. They've had new ones in Galaxy 2 and Kart Wii but they never get used in Smash or actual fucking Yoshi games for some reason. Crafted World is the first time I've heard a Yoshi game use those newer clips. And as much as people don't like New Island, that game introduced the Mellow mode sound effect. I'm glad they also used Galaxy 2 clips in Mario Odyssey.

At least they're consistent for the most part. Or are clips that were originally for Smash to begin with. I'm more concerned about Sakurai's autism regarding Bowser and the DK characters.

Mario Kart Wii is the best game to recycle clips from. I don't get why they didn't bother doing that for Yoshi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Diddy Kong when I'm pretty sure they did that for Jr. I'd say 8 but for some reason all the clips are sped up and have this shitty gurgley filter on them.
