Why did Yea Forums vote Planescape Torment as the most overrated game ever?
Why did Yea Forums vote Planescape Torment as the most overrated game ever?
because Yea Forums has bad taste
because it is
it has the type of story that would only appeal to late 90s fantasy enthusiasts.
shit gameplay, go read a fucking book
Reading is for NERDS
it has the worst combat system and quest design i've ever played in a video game, that might be part of it
>play the game
>don't enjoy it so quit and decide to read the plot
>it's too complicated to read
guess i'm a forever brainlet
>visual novel
>game
Not sure if serious.
they can't read
Wrong one
Votebotting.
It was neck-and-neck with BotW first and TLOU second until PST and FFVII suddenly got a surge of votes.
Wasn't there some butthurt anons botting the results? I wouldn't take it too seriously.
who would bother vote botting P:T instead of something like BotW or TLoU? P:T is just a terrible game, not a meme like hating BotW or TLoU, but an actual horrible video game that lands in many wRPG top tens of all time
I knew it was voted most overrated wasn't sure if user was actually wondering why.
The vast majority of Yea Forums does not know or care enough about PST to put it first. The rabble does know about BotW and TLOU and threads are made about them constantly.
I'm pretty sure you're the votebotter btw.
This
It's a lot of people's apparent go-to "gamer cred" game to namedrop. It also personofies a lot of things people take issue with in modern games. Such as being entirely story driven, having very few weapons and (as a point and click game) lacking what many considder to be actual gameplay.
The reality is that it's a perfectly fine game. Good even. But it's not THAT good. And as such is over rated.
And as a personal aside: I see lots of people name drop Planescape lately, and every time I think "pretentious douchebag" because that's usually the angle they're seemingly going for.
Nah everyone knows about PST because it's constantly shoved down our throat as a masterpiece
>ITT: people who don't understand what over rated means
>The vast majority of Yea Forums does not know or care enough about PST
not true, wRPGfags always bring it up against jRPGs
the story was fine - gameplay is what sucked.
There's not a single person that played this that didn't have to use a guide of some kind
what gets me is the story being praised to high hell when almost all of it is pulled from DnD
Because most normies associate anything with tons of cutscenes or dialogue with good writing
it means it's rated overly
