I fucking hope so. The DS was fantastic but the 3DS, hardware wise, was a massive fuckup in just about every way. If it's a sign of how they'd continue to handle their handheld line then yes, they need to drop it.

Considering the Switch is a hybrid, I can see them improving that kind of model with better battery life and specs in the future. It's sad to see the eventual death of true portable devices but I don't see Nintendo ever doing an exclusively home console ever again.

it's already out they only keep it on their website because it still pulls in money for them, user. They aren't developing any more for the system.
What matters is the games, and as an owner of both, the 3DS had better games. Vita had okay middle market games and a couple standout games. Oddly enough, most of them didn't even take advantage of the capabilities of the Vita.

And yet the Vita with its super amazing PS3-like graphics didn't even make an impact in the mobile market during all of its lifetime to the point Sony gave it a premature death and it was only kept on life support by getting only japanese RPGs and waifubait games. I don't even care about graphics for them to bother me in the 3DS when that console had some really good games that gave me hundreds of hours of fun.

I hate using the popularity argument, but every time there was a thread demanding people post both their 3DS and Vita complete with timestamps, the Vita was by far more popular and well liked than the 3DS.
