Grim Dawn thread.
Is it wise to multiclass as soon as possible or should I just stick to one class?

Bought it because a friend shilled it to me
Thought is was going to be PoE offline or Disablo 3
Its actually great, cant point why though
Have a demolitionist arcanist. Did i pick correctly? I think i fucked up a bit in my build i dont know
I'd advise you to Multiclass as soon as you get the option.
Whatever you prefer. I fucking hate how few sps you get every level so I never multiclass in such games.
>Herp de derp muh dps
I want to press more than two buttons in these games but there's no depth. Everything comes down to endless grind for rarest shit and builds with biggest dmg numbers. Also le locked difficulty levels meme.
Come on.
It wouldn't hurt picking up a few 1pt skills in your 2nd Mastery while you focus on your first.
>stupid classes and stupid combination system
>another item-dependant builds out the ass game
i regret buying this
The world was good suddenly. It's not doomed, it's in agony after apocalypse already happened and you are not saving it, only prolonging the suffering.
What builds are you gays playing?
can you respec in this game?
Yes and it’s veey cheap to do so. The only problem is you can’t respec out of a class if you’ve already picked it
Good thing GDStash exists
I still like the Grenadier/Pyro combo, but how is necromancer? I haven't played since it was announced.
This game feels so outdated, if I want to play a CRPG I'll go for a replay of D2 or PoE. If it had online like PoE it would be perfect, maybe even better than PoE.
im moving up to levl 40
any1 know where you can farm good rares while leveling 37+?
my pants are still traveler and my only crafts are yellow
dont have any green recipe
What level should I do the DLC content? I have both Ashes and Forgotten Gods
Yep. You can re-allocate your skill and devotion points as you go along, and it'll usually pay off to do.
Since the Devotion constellations have prerequisites and completion rewards, you may find yourself in a situation where one of your choices fulfills its own requirements, so you can remove points spent elsewhere. For example, the Imp requires that you 1 Primordial point from the Crossroads to unlock, but awards 3 when completed. When you fill the Imp constellation, you can reassign your point over in the Crossroads, since the Imp now supports itself.
Personally I think Demo/Arcanist synergizes well, but you are probably very squishy. That's nothing that proper gearing can't solve though.
Lots of fun, involves several different playstyles.
Where are you right now in the content?
They scale with you but FG and AoM are tougher in general, on average.
>forum is down
>can't think of what build to do with OK that isn't just warlord
Fucking kill me
homestead
whats a good eye of reckoning build
its pretty fun
What's a good class to act as secondary to Soldier?
I'm just sticking to Arcanist so far and it's been pretty good, got through act 1 only dying twice. (1st time playing.)
I hear Necromancer is a good choice
Anything in the world, Soldier is the butter for any class in this game.
Like just got to Homestead or what quest exactly? Are you having difficulty progressing?
grimtools.com
Depends on what you want to play.
Generic sword and board man with as much AoE and/or sustain as possible
Luckily for you, the new Mastery (Oathkeeper) is exactly what you're looking for.
>Big dick smashy 2H
Shaman or Demolitionist.
>1H+Shields
Necromancer or Oathkeeper.
>Spells
Occultist, Necromancer, or Arcanist.
>Dual Wield
Nightblade or Inquisitor.
Thanks. Might have to buy the new expansion now
I hope you enjoy yourself regardless, user.
How is the new class? Want to play a super tank resistant class. Would it pair well with soldier to make that? Can I throw shields
Completely fucking broken. Especially when combined with Soldier for Retaliation stacking, but can work with anyone.
Yes, you can.__
Literally what it is made for.
who else /skellys/ here?
I will! Thank you for the suggestions.
I don't know which endgame set to go with.
I bought Malmouth back when it came out but never played it. Am I good to play through that content first then buy the expansion, or does the new expansion add stuff to the previous game that makes a new play worth doing?
the only things you can't respec are the points poured into the class' Mastery bar. everything else can be fiddled with.
if you really want to squeak every point of performance out some builds don't dip all the way into the skill mastery bar since they're not taking anything from deeper in and it's just stat points you'd be losing out on.
You can respec points in the mastery bar.
You gain access to the new expansion content after Act I. You can play AoM now with no worries then go to FG.
Is there a pyro caster build that's any good? Left clicking bores me, I see all the builds online are based around auto attacking with guns, been trying to figure out a later game pyro caster build to move towards
I really like the dual classing mechanic and Crate is miles better at optimization than GGG, but everything else about this game is so fucking boring compared to PoE
How so? They're completely different games.
PoE is a trading simulator, thought from the ground up for multiplayer, the fun is grinding faster and faster.
Grim Dawn is a build simulator, thought for single player, the fun is making better and better builds.
One could say the fun in Grim Dawn is most pure, focused on the love of the game instead of being a capitalism simulator like all MMOs.
Both of these demographics will always take priority over us fags who just enjoy the mechanics but want to go on a fun adventure in an interesting world with a good story.
Nox 2 when?
Does this game have randomized maps
This is kind of important
I find the combat in Grim Dawn incredibly clunky compared to PoE, and the skills are less interesting and look worse
>Nox 2 when?
I hate you so much for reminding me of Nox. I want to go back
Randomized maps can suck my dick. Pre-made maps actually have soul.
Nope. Shattered Realm addition in the new xpac takes any of the existing maps in the game and RNGs enemy packs into them, but they've never had true RNG-ified maps spawned on the fly. Not even the Skeleton Key dungeons, which just reoriented where blockages spawn in the pathway, to kinda-sorta randomize the route you'll have to take through the areas.
Actually Grim Dawn is great for people like you, the world is not made from procedural generation so it's quite nice, lots of secrets and hidden areas. The lore is also nice if you like reading, the music is also good. Only thing that's lacking is cinematics between acts like Diablo 2, that would really put it up a notch.
And the combat and the skills of PoE are nothing compared to the ones in Diablo 3.
Where Diablo 3 is Style over Substance, Grim Dawn is Substance over Style, and it never pretended to be anything else.
grim dawn a shit
How many skeletons could I theoretically make as a necromancer? Asking for a friend.
10+ Raise Skeleton
x other misc skeleton skills
I can't get into pet builds for some reason. Maybe I don't know how to make them. Have any of you had success with one?
I've heard good things about this game, might be interested in it. I have two questions though,
1: Does it have merit beyond number-crunching dungeon crawling?
2: How can I go about making a Witch Hunter style character?
Is provided based shield breaker okay? I just to keeps smashing face with shield with fire summons while tanking shit.
Pet builds are kind of a pain in the ass, especially pure.
Yes, primarily lore/story and character customization.
>Witch Hunter
There's a class combo of Inquisitor and Arcanist called Mage Hunter.
But if you mean thematically, just pick up a fucking Crossbow and go Demolitionist or something.
>Leveling a retaliation warlord
>Invest everything on retaliation damage
>Enemy touches me and explodes in a nuclear fire while I poke everything for like 5 damage
This is so dumb but so much fun.
>He didn't go Righteous Fervor and add his Retaliation to his base attack
>Soldier and Oathbearer both have aoe passive attacks that carries over righteous fervor
Anybody? Seems like most builds are based around auto attacking in this game. Or am I wrong? I'm in this for the abilities, not the left clicking
