he has a pretty successful game wheres yours
This is the lead developer for Pathways a new indie game on steam
>make a good game
>people will slowly pick up on it as a good game
>youtubers will make videos for you for free since it's a good game
>get more word of mouth
>your game sells better and better.
Also he just released his game without any advertising and it's in the steam's top sellers list right now.
I think what he is saying is it would be better to build on audience on twitter or whatever during development than pay some youtubers to shill on/after release.
>2019
>I don't know guys, maybe word of mouth is strong?
DO YA THINK SO, BILLY??
How is OP a soiboy? Because he called out someone being a faggot?
You keep pictures of men making dick suck poses with their mouths, you can't tell anyone anything
I think most of it is due to a demo. It's rare for a game to have one these days, for some reason.
Pathway is incredibly shallow with it's gameplay, that's why it's getting bad reviews. I was looking forward to it but it's not that well executed. It's just very repetitive
Next he'll want no refunds possible.
A person sees a cool game on youtube, twitter, Yea Forums, reddit, facebook, whatever.
Person now wants to buy it. Person goes to the steam store page and types the game's name into the search box. That person now counts as "steam traffic".
Thinking like this is fallacious
WRONG!
steam reviews are INCREDIBLY helpful. You just have to spend 2 minutes reading both the positive and negative ones, which are the most helpful of the two.
the truth always surfaces; they answer questions that the tag system, review score, IGN stupidity and the game description/trailer are just unable to answer:
>what is the true reason to play this game?
>who is this game NOT for?
>how does the endgame compares to other games of the same genre?
>why this negative things about the game actually doesn't matter or is even a pro for true fans?
>which advertised feature are actually shallow and absolutely didn't help the game?
nothing can sell you a game as well as a negative review that lists as negatives things you absolutely don't care about or even consider a positive.
